Correct me if I am wrong but only the English teachers have to have the background check right??
It is my understanding that the foreign Profs at the Korean Uni's are on a different Visa classification and for them the police background check is not required.

I am going to recommend Webster Thailand it is an American School--they have this degree

Go for replacement of the documents and file grievances with several bodies, accept that you will be seeking other work, be amenable to switching countries. Do not allow yourself to be pushed around.

Do you know anything good or bad about the other doctors? And how does BNH hospital rank? in terms of oppulence and service compared to bumrungrad etc?
BNH is nice, modern, Maybe nicer than Bumrungrad. My Thai wife said it was the nicest hospital she'd ever been in, and she's lived in the US.

This is about the worst thing that can happen, visit Thailand on vacation and end up getting killed.
Yea the hometown paper does not say too much.
You can take some those facts though and conduct a search on google. There was some rumor and conjecture on another Thailand specific web board that I had never heard of plus there is of the course the local and fairly active Hua Hin forum but on this particular topic everyone is pretty much keeping quiet.
Hua Hin is pretty tight, the yank is supposed to be a long time resident and for some reason the people who do know are not talking except to each other.
Only the deceased has been named, the Yank has not been publically named yet.

I have difficulty with the use of the word learnt. I think points should deducted for spelling it this way (not that I'm an English teacher) instead of: learn/learned depending on the context.
In my opinion the use of the word learnt simply makes one sound uneducated. Sort of like "ain't got none".

There are 2 years I have a visa type "O" and I'd like to know if is easy to obtein a new one in Siagon instead to go back in my country, Europe.
Thank's
Adrian
I heard it was easier for Thais to get Visa's to the US from Saigon compared to doing the same from BKK. So it might be the same on the other foot

most calanders I know divide the year into periods called months , Jan , Feb etc ,
here we have ,
no spagetti strap month , sensible songkran month , morality in ( insert necessary description here ) month , and so on ...............
What about low cut hip hugger jeans
In days of old trappers in the new world were proud to display their beaver pelts.

(deleted as an irrelevant repeat of a previous link)- Anthonyaus, we don't need an update every time an anonymous handle posts comments on a news article which has already been linked to the board- that's spamming and flooding. - IJWT

Now here's some quality stuff about the parent organization of one Thailand's finest schools.
Do they do this in Thailand too?
Just asking?

Uli can the RKH cert be run out to MAT or MEd?
Typically a cert like this is worth about 1/3 of a degree so if its legit, is there or least plans of it working into full qualification?

Insurance snafu leaves students without net
by The Journal Staff in News
THIS STORY IS PART TWO OF A TWO-PART SERIES Health insurance for Webster study abroad students in Thailand during spring 2007 has been plagued by confusion and miscommunication.
-
There are 180 students at Webster Thailand waiting for the teacher to appear.
Any Takers?

Many teachers qualified to pursue this course or a similar one genuinely interested in improving their professional qualifications will do so with little regard to whether or not it satisfies bureaucratic requirements in Thailand or elsewhere.
What is significant here is that the quality of professional teacher preparation programs is on the rise in Thailand coupled with more stringent requirements for admission to the programs, i.e., undergrad degree requirement.
Over time and not overnight, this will result in more professional teachers in schools and improve the quality of instruction and education of the students.
That these university programs are becoming more available to foreign teachers marks a sea change regarding who in the future will qualify as a professionally prepared teacher in Thailand and what and what will not qualify as a professional teacher preparation program here.
It is a very positive development and one that is long overdue.
Here Here and Amen

This would be more for Uni and other tertiary instructors in my opinion although it is somehat transferrable to other fields of study.
This would be a teaching qualification and evidence of formal training of pedagogy in my opinion either beyond or covering something different then TEFL. If someone did have it and another did not the person who had it might get the interview.
I'll bet its a tough sell though. Its more like icing on the cake.

Oddly replies have been mixed up over a very short time.
Maigo6 - This is a thread about the 49% Ownership in Condominiums, the only legal way for a foreigner to buy freehold property in Thailand all other considerations are sadly secondary.
CRUNCHER – I understand about the new territories, but not that all was leasehold else where!
Anthonyaus – Apologies I think you got hold of the wrong end of the stick here, email posts etc, all difficult stuff. I trust no misunderstanding?
No we're cool, my post was confusing anyway. I agree with the Thais wanting to control 51%. Offering the foreigner up to 49% ownership of of a condo bloc is a fair concession.
Selling out that quick though???
I have no experience with the new unit market.
-
Well it's their country, why wouldn't they be able to have 49 % ownership anyway, why would they not want to.
The foreigners, if they want to live here still can.
I see it as immaterial

Scrapping the plan would lead to financial damage for land speculators who have scooped up beach-front land in the two provinces. Those speculators failed to foresee the Sept 19 coup d'etat, said Mr Wirach.
I'll bite. How does scrapping the plans for a new proposed province lower the value of one's beach-front land by even a single satang?
Yea and there was rumor Hua Hin was getting a Disneyland
-
Both places are great been to both, Chumphons more up and coming and more Thai. The beach adn small islands are quite intersting. the whole area is rather low in elevation though. I came to edit this, parts are low lying there are spots where cliffs overlook the sea and beach.
Questions About Qualifications

It is my understanding that the Australian version is more or less modeled after the British PGCE but it may have slightly different name.
Not sure if each others quals are cross accepted or not.
