No. You are limited to a single 30-day extension. If you can get a letter from the hospital stating that you are not physically able to travel, you might be able to get a medical extension. Be warned that Immigration treats applications for medical extensions with extreme scepticism.

Thanks mate, I can get a letter from the hospital without a problem. Perhaps I'll do a KL or an Udon Thani Nong Kai visa run in a month or so  and hope for the best

  2. Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help with with my query.

Myself and the Thai wife have been 'stranded' in Bali for the last 2 years because of you know what and in that time her ID card has expired (by 2 months) and her passport expires in September 2022 (which we need to renew in order to get a new onshore visa here (6 months validity)

Has anyone ever done this in Indonesia and can provide any pointers?  I can't really work out what's required by looking at the Thai embassy website

Any feedback would be much appreciated, we're in Bali if that makes any difference

    Regards

    Richie

  3. Thanks Joe - I arrive in London on the 9th August, get a new passport on the 10th August and hope to submit Visa application on the 11th Aug - My question now is because the Thai Embassy is closed on the 14th August (HM Queens Birthday) do you know if they'll let me apply in person and then send the passport with visa back to my address? This would save me another costly night in London

    cheers

  4. Good Evening Gents,

Getting everything prepared (a month in advance) for my latest Non O ME Visa (Based on Marriage) at the Thai Embassy in London.

Last year I presented a marriage cert, (plus copy signed by the wife) ID card signed by the wife, Tabian Baan copy (signed by the wife) and of course my passport + copy + form + photos + fee.

    Has anything changed? Financial evidence?

    Thanks in advance

  5. They dont let you go across the Thai border into Burma solo (not from this border point anyway) - the other side consists of a few bamboo sheds one of which is the Immigration office. Plus it's about 4-5kms from the Thai exit point.

The 960 baht includes transport over the border and required copies of passport page, visa page etc. The driver takes your passport, goes to the immigration hut brings it back to you and you both return to the border again. You can get out for a look around the village but it's pretty muddy and there's nothing much to see.

  6. I did it on Monday with a non o based on marriage - got there for 1030am (avoided the early morning rush) no queues, over and back with another 90 days in less than 45 minutes - 960 baht total.

Get stamped out of Thailand, walk 15 yard and there's a cafe/travel agent on your left. Give them your passport and they'll do the rest.

  7. I'd take cash, they do technically do cash advances and you can draw from ATM's there but a lot of the ATM's vary as to what card you can use etc. This said, it depends are where you're going - Goa and the big cities you can use Visa to withdrawal but on the whole its still a very cash based society

  8. SCB blocked me from doing it with a debit card some time ago , simply use another bank - the charges are nominal - from my Nationwidewide account I am charged £1 for the foreign withdrawal and around 2% on the total. The exchange rate is reasonable and there is no charge (that I can see) levied by the Thai bank. The max is 250,000 baht per transaction, per day. In theory you can can do that every day if required
