  1. Was just kidding about turning it off. mindyou quite serious about the insulation part. Heat lost equals heat gained...or something like that.

And don't forget how people decide after the fridge/freezer door is open what they are taking out. My gal is always gazing into the fridge.

  2. unless the seal is completely shattered, you can often revive old seals by rubbing them with petroleum jelly and they heating it with a hair dryer.

Worth a try in the mean time, except of course it it is more holes than rubber now.

While you are at it...you might consider beefing-up the R-value,(ie.) cut and fasten foam sheeting to the case of the freezer.

Or buy new with Energy Star rating.

Or do as some people and just turn it off at night.

  3. Just add this to the reasons I will NEVER go to Pattaya. Never been, never want to go, and I have lived in Thailand 2 years.

But yet you have taken the time post on a Pattaya forum

So it begs the question if you find the place so repulsive why are you reading and posting on a Pattaya forum then ?

Yeah, what a jack of all t'rades. See what happened to JT when he wandered into the Samui section.

    The electro-jokes were okay???

  4. I wish someone would say what the 'incorrect procedure' was. Some numpty whose sole job it is to put Hondabond on the bolt probably decided they didn't need it if you hang off the wrench and do them up really tight.

Yes, like tighten the bolt until you feel the threads pull, then back it off a quarter turn.

  5. I am not you.

    This is informative?

Nevarminda.....how about this? Charter the baht/bath bus and consider random acts of communal kindness........

You might summon the driver to pick up people's of unknown nationality?

Spanish for instance.....perhaps some Brits and soviets.

Someone as yourself living in a ten million BATH condo should afford themselves/self a bit luxury and well being.

  6. with the consumed time and responses of the umpteen thousand posts...I am very surprised you have time to interact in public,

    nevermind the endless perceived hassles.

you may be part of the problem... and one of many portraying a bad farang image.

    mirror time??

    Yes dear me bad f-rang

  7. I had an emergency Cat scan for a kidney stone done by the Emergency Room. All they did was take some cat scans, sedate me a bit and put me on some IV and luckily the thing cleared on its own while I was laying there in the ER bed. They gouged me $3,000 USD here in the USA. Would cost half that if pre-arranged. So I think 66 K or about $2,000 USD is not bad for actual diagnostics and surgery and some Post op work for that hernia.

That's amateur stuff. I had a U.S. hospital stay (the only in my life) for observation for some pain symtoms, four nights stay, one medical test (nuclear medicine) lasting one hour, no procedures, diagnosis clear, insurance billed over 50K USD, cost me out of pocket 4K USD.

I don't get it. Was that a good deal?? Are you bragging or complaining??
  8. Drifters Cafe...went there some nights ago, had a gorgonzola, salami, mozarella pizza. A friend ordered the crab and shrimp pizza, the misses had tom yam koong. One large and a small beer, 830baht. The seafood pizza had faux crab but really fresh and tasty prawns, it was a surprisingly nice combo, I will return. They also do a very nice mince pie (135baht). Very thin crust, not overcooked and perfectly topped. IMO way better than Pizza Big. Bon Appetite.
