Because on my wifes hol visa she applied for 3 months which was issued but thet always insert 6 months on the visa we rang the Embassy who said thats correct but she must return within 3 months of departing. When i questioned this they said basically yes she can stay 6 but you will have a prob on her return ? as if she stays 6 she will be expected to stay in her host country 6 before re applying ????
She was my partner at the time 16 months ago when she had this visa since then we have married, the reason i asked was a friend was issued the same he applied for 6 weeks she has stayed 6 months and he seems to think no problems will arise. On his return next week he will put in for a further 6 months not really a tourist visa then is it who goes on holiday for 12 months at a time.

There never has been such a rule.
Scouse.
Spot on but i bet its not easy returning and re applying straight away more for family members i would have thought.
-
Does the rule still exsist that if you have had a 6 month tourist visa you must spend 6 months in your host country before you re apply.

Just quote that ref number and you dont have to book anything wedding wise ECO officers cannot ask for proof of wedding booking.
PM and il send you the e mail to confirm this from registrar print it and put it in with the application it covers you.
-
You cannot book a wedding whilst the foreighn national is not in the UK!
(under reference AECIP 83/03). CHECK THE RULES
-
Well its obviously a family visit its her mother.

Hi there my wife is going for a interview next week at the Brithish embassy for a settlement visa ,does any one know what questions will be asking so she can have some sort of idea of what there will be asking,i take it that it will be mostly about us.
She should know everything about you DOB etc when did you last see your sponsor is a favourite question.

Date of birth is a big problem they never know them insert on section 7 as to why they are missing.
-
Never a pen im a gooner cant do stuff like that ma boy...i just enjoy hammering you ar White Hart Lane .

Its a shame you cant type on the forms directly and then just print one off it would save people alot of time.

Get a letter from your accountant stating your likely income.
You think thats the answer if you have only been trading 6 months and have no accountant.I thought maybe a covering letter explaining your dilemma would cover it explaining your first end of year is April 2008 would suffice.
-
On the guidance they want evidence of total income per month after tax well if your self emoloyed and a new company how do you do that ???
-
hi,
thanks very much- very helpful. Looking forward to a christmas at the beach now- will plan another visa/visit to uk next year. No point in spoiling chances of future visas,
thanks,
fred
I think we have more than answered your concerns stick to what you applied for dont give them any excuses to knock you back next time.

just recieved letter of refusal from bangkok. as dont meet all the requirements of section 41, of the rules we have stayed together 7/24 for 8 months, and i sent photos, air tickets, went trips singas, phuket, ect but officer states no prove we live together (in a subsisting relationship) his words. now how else apart from getting married do we prove that. does anyone think its worth appealling, and if not when can you apply agian. as i was looking forward to xmas back home. with g/f. quite upset by decsion as id spent 5 or 6 weeks, putting quite a large folder of evidence together.as per all there instructions, and also of course now the costs, 15000bht plus.(hotel air flight taxis ect) nice little earner, for uk
If its a visit visa UK you cannot appeal against the decision of entry clearance.I would re-apply with further evidence if you have any.
-
Yes i am aware of thet it was a quote on a refusal get your head round that one double standards.

Alot of people i know believe they will get ILR because they are in the same circumstances as myself, they are going to be disappointed when a 2 year drops through the letterbox.
-
I was in the same situation they said you were granted 3 months we expect her back in May or it could jepordise any future applications so we honoured what was agreed. We returned applied for a fiance visa and got it in 2 days i believe this was due to her prompt return.
-
I thought that if you applied for say a 6 week holiday visa they put a 6 month one in the passport but they expected you to honour what you applied for?
My partner asked for 6 months in 2006 they issued 3 months but inserted a 6 month multi entry. When i contacted them they said yes by law you can stay 6 months but you applied for 3 we expect you back or it could jepordise any future applications ?
What visa did you apply for ???
-
According to the Embassy Thai people dont take 6 week holidays and it is not normal?
That was one of the reasons they refused someone on another board yet they are readily handed out 2/3/3/5/6 month tourist visas.
-
This has been covered alot of times i know but surely if your wife was on a FLR visa before the law changed you should get FLR at the end of this.I would have thought anyone who was granted a 2 year settlement after the change would have to sit the test anyone pre April 2007 would be excused.
My wife has ESOL level 1/2 but has to sit 3 to get it automatically ?
-
Scan it and let her print it at her end, most people have a standard sponsors letter just re date it. And send a covering letter as to the ECO concerns.
-
Other than bank statements is there any other evidence you can supply ?
-
Not married il let you know how he gets on.
