My car is a 4 year old M5 BMW. I don't see any of this particular model for sale at the BMW dealer in Bangkok.
Main reason I do not want to part with the car is that because of the high paper value, I can get the Singapore government to pay me about S$125,000 to export it (they call this scrap value). Then I effectively have a free car if I export it to myself.
Unfortunately, my company will not help me with my car and I will just need to drive something else.

I have searched for the answer to this and expect it will be relegated to the "too dificult" or "too expensive" category of things to avoid.
I have a BMW in Singapore and have owned it for over a year. My company will move me to Thailand soon and I would like to take it with.
I have reviewed this Thailand customs website link and searched this and other forums and I see mention or hint of Thai nationals being allowed to bring back a duty free car if they own it for at least 18 months when resident elsewhere.
Just a guess, but expect there is no way a falang would be given any duty free car allowance?

A bit hard to expect calm in a raging storm, but hope there is still some level headed people in the military, because that will be who is really capable of getting things under control, albeit, many will be looking at their next life or bare the scars for the rest of their lives with this unfortunate option.

I got a good idea, I live in Singapore, used to drive to Thailand. It's kind of far, the 30 days used to be convenient, now it is not. Guess I'll be flying to Cambodia now!

I was in Phuket a couple of weeks ago trying to leave on Saturday with the airport closed. I managed to get out on the following Monday and it was no major problem for me to be a day late to work coming back from a week off. But that was because I live close by in Singapore, so it's just a <2 hour flight. I expect those with disrupted flights back to Euorpe or North America had a bugger of a time getting home from that fiasco.
I have another weeks leave in October, I think for ease of mind, I'll go to Cambodia this time. I have been wanting to explore Angkor Wat, and I don't need a repeat of my last extended trip in the back of my mind if I go to Thailand again.
Maybe next year!

Aren't all of the check in and baggage handlers Thai Airways employees? Seem to think they wear uniforms that say that but I may be wrong?

Thank you LeungKen and others that have provided information. Hope SilkAir can get me out of here or the boss will not be pleased!

If the protesters are still there, would not want to be the test case for seeing what they will do when the first car or bus tries to leave the airport with passengers just landed!

I will have to sell it here in Singapore. I can still get around S$220-230k locally for it so no need to export it yet.
