What car is it, what's the engine size?

I think if the car is registered to a Thai in the foreign country for 3-4 years, they can bring it into Thailand with no duty for personal use.

If it's a beefy engine, or a nice car, it would be a cheaper option to buy something locally.

The reason I ask is that I live in Bang-Na, as do loads of Farangs. I've got me own motor, but would rather not travel all the way into town to have a couple of beers with my fellow Farang.

All I'm looking for is a friendly hang-out where I can suck back a few beers, chew the fat, and not drive 30 odd KMS into town.

I think it's not bad, and would'nt mind one myself, the only concern as with everything in Thailand is that the rules change all the time. Future governments could abolish this whole thing in a few years or more, and then as always you're "shit out of luck", and a million Baht lighter.
