  1. This is a great discussion.. have anyone ever tried Falabella? I ofthen think there are alot of guys there that plays on our team...

Where else do you find this? Aqua? Diplomat?

What is Falabella: A bar, pub, discotheque? No, I don't know it. Where is it? Same holds true for Aqua or Diplomat. Are these places in Bangkok?

And where are you from? I have heard the expression "guys who play on the other team" only from straight people so far, not ever heard the reference to "our team".

Falabella is Local bar across from St. Regis. If you drive in this area at weekend nights you will see tons of cars parked in front. Aqua: outdoor bar at 4seasons, Diplomat: Conrad Hotel.

Im a from Bangkok actually.. i have recently realized the difference between the gay guys i met in gay bars, online and straight bars. The first two places you are more likely to find guys that just wanna get in your pants and not really interested in you and probably, normally quite shallow and have very little to offer themselves. Everyonce in a while tho, those good one will come around, but don't hold your breath. From my experience, PLU that i meet in a str8 bar are more on the same wavelength. They are either sick of the gayscene as well or never been to one. Altho there is always a thrill/risk of chatting one up at. Like i mentioned in the last post. Even if you get an eye contact, or they randomly come up to you. it doesn't always mean they are gay... or that they will admit they are. its always a gamble!

  2. just curious, if u not into scene, where do u meet these guys?

im also looking to meet the non-scene , professionals ones.

As IJWT said. Gays mix with straight people, I think the invention of "gay bars" and "gay discotheques" and "gay restaurants" is an import from the West. smile.png Thai society is much more separated along social classes than sexual orientation.

That said, there are gay bars catering Thai people, as least in Bangkok, and the farang is the odd guy out. I recommend going there with Thai friends though, as people do come in groups. I will assume that most people there are not into money, and you will have to be good-looking if you want to meet someone! giggle.gif

I experienced this a few times, but most turned out to be false alarm.. maybe i look friendly. Alot of random guys at the bar would jsut start chatting me up, only their girlfriend would comes 5 min later to drag him home. Ive never really understand this.. And it actually makes me nervous about chatting random guys up at a str8 bar, since they might not be PLU..

  3. It is difficult to meet "sophisticated" gay farangs here in Bangkok. By sophisticated, I mean with style, money, decency, and dare one say it, with "class". I'm not looking for a lover or a f/b, but rather a couple with like-minded interests, excluding sex. (I'm in a LTR and very happily so.) I don't even know where to look. We just want decent friends to meet up with for good dining, drinking and harmless fun.

Are you with a thai guy? May i ask your age? I am 27yo GWM with 24 year old thai. We also don't know many people like you mention. I live in bangkok on a part-time basis, spending about a quarter of the year in thailand on regular 6 to 15 day stints. the bf is there all the time at the moment. we have a place together. We dont know any other young(ish) thai/white couples in thailand. I socialise with a lot of his thai friends but sometimes its difficult to have a full on conversation when Thai is spoken predominently. anyway, i understand how you feel! maybe we should organise a thaivisa gay meet one day

Please let me know if you do organize this meeting.. I'm on the same boat.

  4. I think most replies in this forum are quite stereo typical. I personally think has alot to do witht he family that each person was raised in. Different family have different way of showing affection, whether it be saying something nice, hugging, giving money,etc... Some family area less touchy than others and some family are less shy to show some PDA.. Then again.. its another story when you are talking about two buff men hugging each other... affectionately..

  5. :o It will be a long time until they move the whole business to NST

The Environmental studies has yet to be done on the land they plan to use in NST...

At the moment that land looks like Phi Phi island when it was virgin...

So its all upto the local politics.. I can see alot of NGOs coming out and protests and stuff like that (possibly sent from Songkhla.)hah.

If the oil company thinks songkhla is dangerous.. they sure dont know Nakorn people. Theres already a couple shooting to win over the land in that area.... Lets hope they stay in SKL
