My understanding is that Thailand does not want to have its gold measured by international standards most other countries abide by (TIT) so if you try to sell it outside Thailand, it will be greatly discounted

It's possible they've been told they can't distribute directly to US citizens & that somehow every vaccine they donate to Thailand will end up in a private hospital costing 3,000 or more per jab

Over a six month period I got none of the six items I bought online ...I complained to the boss & they were in my box the next morning the problem is that this happens every 6 months getting no or almost no mail they just seem to leave it somewhere for many months at a time & maybe you will forget about it ...in my case I had to buy all the items twice so when they showed up the next day they were useless to me

95% of the time free Wi-Fi in Thailand is not hooked up to the internet. companies get free PR, newspapers sell more copies and it's all BS.... that's why the expression 'are you Thai-ing to me' has become so popular among other Asian nations

Have to think using Thai logic ... the system you find so bizzare (and in some ways it is) supports whole a industry of visa running agencies - provides employment for immigration posts and ensures Johnny foriegner remembers that his/her time in Thailand remains that of an (insecure) guest.

I was using Thai logic - my system is easier for foreigners & puts more money in the hands of many officials & I would think their desires would be more important than the bosses of the visa running agencies - I wish I could get an answer from somebody on the inside that really knows

so nobody understands why thailand (& other countries) make people travel when they could just have people 'check in' at an immigration office every so often & collect a fee equal to all the traveling cost?

I understand the rules but I don't understand the concept

put another way, I don't understand any country wanting you to leave & go spend money in another country to qualify for staying longer. Why not qualify you every month or 6 months at an immigration office & charge a big fee instead of instead of giving it all away to travel companies & other countries & making it a big hassle for those that are adding to your economy in the 1st place?

I couldn't find the answer to this. Other countries have visitors check in & pay fees instead of making people travel & spend money in foreign countries for hotel, food, transport etc. so why doesn't thailand charge big fees (equivalent or less than what the travel would cost) instead. That way thailand pockets the money, it's easier for travelers & thailand still gets to keep out the rif-raf or whoever they are worried about staying in thailand by making the fees expensive according to time & purpose in the country.

Thanks for this article - but I followed the link which is now dead & tried googling it & it appears the full story have been taken off of several sites ...maybe the government had the story taken off because it's in error or they want to keep up the illusion they will create stimulus without actually doing it? Any thoughts?

regarding the story quoted here '...a possible reduction in the special business tax of 3.3 per cent, the transfer tax of 2 per cent and the one-per-cent mortgage fee'?

I was told the reduction of transfer tax was only for 2nd hand properties - not new developments but I would think it's for both ...you have any idea?
