Cell phones in North America typically do not allow interchangeable sim cards, they are dedicated to a specific provider.

Well , i hate when providers sim-lock their phones,they usually did that here in DK some years ago,now all phones bought here is sim-free and you can put in all providers simcards,very usefull when in Thailand,and i always keep the phone on me,not in a stupid locker.

Great place the food quality is really good and they do a different theme every day. Decor and deserts <check Deserts are amazing!!!!!!!> I use to take my girlfriend here once a week because we like the place so much. It is where we got engaged they were so nice about it too. This place wins because it puts a 1000baht spread out for 300. 11:30 to 3pm and at night they switch it to a Thai buffet<6 to 10>. The night buffet is really great if you want to taste all the Thai favorites with good quality ingredients and prefect preparation. The place is great for Thai Westerner couples she can eat what she wants and you can eat what you want and there are tons of little things they can try. My GF was not a big fan of western food until I brought her here blueberry creme brulete is one of her favorites now.

Went to the Arnoma hotel yesterday, must admit great buffet for only 320THB all included,nice variety and great taste.

when the maid knocks and nobody opens, she does open the door... thats everywhere the same...

and the maids do have a master key ready all the time... i have never seen anything else throughout asia nor europe...

Maids all over the world are carrying a master key - otherwise they cannot make up the rooms!

I will be in BKK by 1st july, - "best" defined also as good food if it´s cheap - it´s ok , but price does not matter...have to check out the places,

i´m tired of the almost "food fight" at Bayoke Sky, sometimes too crowded....so want to try something new , actually i´m staying just opposite Plaza Athenee.....

If the thai police are so sure of the suspects,why didn´t the bring pictures of them as well? Normally - when they have caught someone, they are all displayed at the policestation in front of everybody!

In MBK center in Bangkok on some of the upper floors 4-5th floor at the left side when you comes from escalator all at the far end there are some small stalls selling jade.

I fly frequently between Changi and Swarmy. Even the ladies toilet in Swarmy is disgusting! The quality of the toilet is what I would find in a hawker centre in Singapore!

Chateau De Bangkok in Soi Ruamrundee , beginning of Sukhumvit , very big one and two bedroom suites with jacuzy bath and kitchen fully equipped two televisions and dvd player , very nice indeed...

i think they have the absolutely right equipment - but the city infrastructure with all these stupid powerpoles and cables going in all directions does not allow firfighters to do a proper rescue job!

Chances for a phone with consumer warranty is better if you buy it in Tesco Lotus or Big C as you will get a reciept and you are sure that phone is genuine and brand new , by this you cannot be sure if bought from MBK......those can surely be second handed phones...

Sorry to hi jack the thread, but has anyone ever managed to get their money back/exchange from places in MBK, Panthip, small shops if something didn't work ? Is there more chance of getting your money back or exchange from Tesco or Big C ?

Some years ago i got a portable dvd player exchanged for a new one after i returned home and found out it did not function properly - returned to the shop within 30mins in Panthip Plaza and they exchanged it without any hassle....

I would have taken a picture of the stucked banknote and presented that to the issuing bank afterwards and write down the time and date when the withdrawal took place....
