I'm going to have to miss this Friday unfortunately aswell, which is a shame as i enjoy the Lion bar, looking at all the no shows for this Friday, how about the Lion bar next Friday?????

Juice on soi Lenke, Oliver Twists on Pattaya Klang and the Caddy Shack (next to the eden bar formerly known as the Harley bar) all do good breakfasts.

For anyone interested curry night tomorrow (tue 7th) at Noi's, this weeks curry is chicken Dhansak, 200 baht and that includes a beer. Best curry i've ever had in Pattaya.

Thanks to Kolobos and Noi my gut was well cushioned against the onslaught of whyskey I was forced to pour down my throat.
Where was Baz he helped protect me last time by sharing the JD. Missed the chance to talk to most of the outside crew, at my station in life I prefer cushions to concrete.

As always another good night in Noi's bar, was just a bit disappointed a certain seppo didn't turn up, but never mind maybe next friday.
And a special thanks must go to Noi herself for putting on the food, which again was delicious as always.

Crash hat stops bullet

A seafood vendor riding home on his motorcycle and hearing a loud noise followed by something hitting his crash hat was astonished to find on reaching his house that there was a bullet hole in his helmet.
Por Dulkhong, a 62-year-old Sattahip resident said the noise had sounded like a gunshot but that he had not seen anyone.
He said he was on the way back from his daily purchase of shellfish at a fresh market in Tambon Samnakton, Ban Chang, traveling by motorcycle on Rayong route number 332. At a point where the road ran through woodlands he heard the sound and felt an object hitting his helmet.
He could think of only two reasons that this had happened to him. The most likely reason was that someone was hunting and that the bullet hit him accidentally. The other possibility was that a thief was intending to take the 2-baht gold necklace he had borrowed from his wife and put around his neck three days ago.
Amazingly, there was not a scratch on his head. Neighbors visited him to find out what lucky charm he carried that had saved him from death, and he showed them a wooden phallus that he said had brought luck many times before.

Noi's it is, perfect for me as it is my local and i'm there most nights, i will be seeing kolobos tomorrow as it's curry night in Noi's bar so i'll fill him in, should be an interesting night, i can't wait.

I've always lived in central Pattaya but am weighing the options. I drive a motorcycle so transportation is not a problem. Some of these housing estates look very pretty and serene. How's security? I do read about the regular break-ins at some estates in between south Pattaya and Jomtien which make me worry. For anyone in the know, what's the pros and cons of the Dark Side? What do you live in and what's your monthly expenses? Thank you.
Well, if I were a "Wanted" man and had upset anyone in town, the Darkside what not be an option as I would crap myself everytime I made the journey home from Cenrtral Pattaya. The roads are dark, and a single gun shot from a passing motorcyclist and thats it.
However, in terms of quietness and value for money there are are some good longterm rentals available toward Country club for a more descreat lifestyle,
On a bike, having to cross Sukhumvit with a belly full of beer every night would be a worry, but for a non-drinker like yourself, perhaps not.
There are plently of short time establishments around on the darkside, but to visit too often would be a drag, especially if you have decided not to pay the girl
If I were you HB, I wouldnt bother returning to Pattaya, and would try somewhere that you are not known, for health reasons if nothing else.

From Nern Plub Waan turn right after the bridge over the railway line then left, gives you plenty of time to cross sukhumvit road to turn into Pattaya Klang.

Bars in Pattaya have been sent letters from the BIB telling them they have to Close this Sunday and Monday, but this being Pattaya there will still be some bars open, for those of you who don't know which ones send me a pm with the offer of a free beer and i will tell you.

For those of you in town there is a stockings and suspenders party tonight (wed 25th) at the Rockhouse bar on soi LK Metro, and trust me this is not to be missed if previous ones are anything to go by, also although i have not met the host of tonights party i have been reliably informed that he has a passion for constant bell ringing. For those of you who don't know where LK Metro is , you either enter it from Soi Diana or soi Bukao. I definately will not be being a Mary tonight.

I think you may want to take a zero off the end of those figures, my wifes village is about 25km outside Buriram on the road to Satuk and paddy fields go for between 20,000 to 30,000 baht a rai.
