  2. Sad story, this man became very ill. I think the hospital is getting a bad rap medical care is not free any were.

sorry in belguim they save you first and discus the bill after you are in shape !!!

This should be the case in any hospital but sadly not the case in Thailand.

You only have to read the tragic case of Matt Hayes (do a search on this forum) a lovely guy who had a serious road accident on his motor bike and was refused treatment at Bangkok Pattaya hospital and died on the way to another hospital in Chonburi all because he did not have his wallet on him and could not proof he could pay for treatment. He was only 32 years old.

  3. BPH is good but very very expensive, I hope you have good health insurance. Also check if you really need all the tests and treatment they are offering to do as they tend to exaggerate the things that need doing in order to charge for them and always want you to stay in over night or longer than necessary to charge extra.

  4. My daughter really wants to see Mamma Mia the movie at the cinema for her birthday tomorrow but I have searched around and I can not find any information about it showing in the cinemas in Pattaya.

Does anyone know if it is showing anywhere in Pattaya?

If so which cinema and what times?

My daughter is going to be so disappointed if we can not find a cinema that is showing Mamma Mia, can anyone help make her day?

  5. Or better still rescue a couple of street dogs they make great guard dogs and are very loyal and grateful for a good home and regular food. They can live out side and will protect your property better than any guard can. We have 3 rescued street dogs and we have had no problems at all with unwelcome visitors in the 3 years since we have had them.

  6. Thank you lumpuri3,

I have a 1 year non-immigrant B visa which finishes in October it is single entry and I have just been to the UK and got a re-entry visa so mine is fine until October but my kids have been on over-stay for 2 years previously to our recent visit to the UK and I know it is OK but I would much prefer them to have valid education visas and since they are in full time education here I do see why they can not have one.

I would really like to swop their 1 month tourist visas for valid 1 year education visas but don't know what the procedure is.

  7. I have renewed my non-immigrant B visa a few times in Singapore and it is quite easy if you have the right paper work, you really need a Thai lawyer to prepare it for you properly. They will only provide a 3 month single entry visa though. you do need to stay over night at least one night maybe two as you need to drop of the paperwork on the morning of one day and collect it the afternoon of the next day. It is quite easy to find your way around in Singapore and any of the hotels on or near Orchard road are close enough to the Thai embassy.

  8. Hi, I want to apply for 1 year education visas for my two children aged 8 and 10 years old.

We have recently been back to the UK and they have valid tourist visas now until the 29th of May.

    I have a non-immigrant B visa with a work permit until October 2008.

My children are in full time education at a bi-lingual school and I have a certificate from the school stating they are in full time education at that school for this academic year.

I asked the school about applying for a education visa for them both but they said that they need a valid visa for a minimum of 21 days before the visa expires and of course they do not have that now as they expire on the 29th of May.

I can not go out with them and get an extention because I only have a single entry visa which I have just used for our trip to the UK.

Does anyone have any advice about how I can get the 1 year education visas for my children?

  9. I had my handbag stolen in Bangkok with my passport in it and even though I had a police report and a letter from the British embassy requesting that they (Thai immigration) re-issue the visa status I already had in my old passport (and I had copies of it) they would not do it. Apparently it is not possible to have a non-immigrant B 1 year multi entry visa issued in Thailand. I had to leave the country and re-apply for my non-immigrant B visa from the beginning. I have never had so much hassle and it cost me a fortune to get the same visa I had in my old passport.

  10. Isn't that where Garden International School is?

How is it different from GIS or is it the same school in a different name?

It is right next door to GIS (or actually just behind it now that they have moved to the new building) and they do share some of the GIS facilities which is very useful.

It is different from GIS because they are totally separate schools, GIS is an international school with an international teaching curriculum and international prices. REPS is a bilingual Thai/English school and as such should be judged in this category and not as an international school. The prices for REPS are much lower than the international schools and on a par with other bilingual schools that are not anywhere near the same standard as REPS.

  11. REPS is really good in comparison to BEST which we had our kids at for 2 years and it went from bad to worse to absolutely intolerable so we did not even wait for the end of the school year we removed our children from BEST to REPS and have not looked back.

REPS do seem to care about the kids and the facilities are really great, the teachers are native English speakers and the teaching so far has been excellent. BEST is not a patch of REPS in any respect and now with the prices at BEST going UP I can not believe that parents are going to continue to put up with the disgusting state of the school and lack of facilities, plus inadequate teaching, not to mention the way some teachers treat the children and pay more for it! Unbelievable.
