  1. No word about how long he's out on the streets. No information what so ever. But yes all the "so happy" farangs who "love Thailand" have their say. Sure Thailand is bad news to you guys. Just move away to your own country and be mister negative there. Almost every story here I see the negative response and yes some are understandable. But some of you guys just jump in a story and vomit their frustration out. You guys must have a poor and sad life.

  2. Think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit....... Clearly she is not a very clever woman if she thinks

these baldfaced lies are going to fly very far. Or she thinks Thai people are stupid.....

At some point they are... Let's face it; Who is so stupid to believe that this Suthep will be any better, is stupid. It's not about the country, it's all about the flow of the money. And Suthep wants a piece of the flow. Using moral ideas, but at the end it's the money that makes the world go round....

We all shout now that she is telling lies.... But what politician doesn't lie? They all do. Chuan Leekpai brought Thailand to a financial disaster and Thaksin brought Thailand back on the map. What he did was taking down the corrupted politicians and criminal money and used this to pay the IMF. In no time Thailand was healthy and was seen as a stable partner to do business with. And see what happened after the yellow took over. From 2006 until now a big load of crap came over Thailand. I don't care about the color, I stick to some facts, but all people see now are the negative side of Thaksin. He is not a saint, no way. But don't forget all others who followed after him or are now shouting in the street cant be seen as better. I would say they are even worse, because we are back where it all started before Thaksin came in. Unstable currency, and economy on a hold.....

Are we now so lucky with all old corrupted politicians coming back, yes they are against Thaksin... Hey he kicked them out. And see they are back (or their party members are) trying to get a piece of the cake into their own pocket.

In one thing Suthep was right "this is not the end". It's the beginning of a long sad financial situation......

  3. A man I know had a similar problem, and with the help of a Thai policeman and his friends (lawyer, governor etc) h had a big part of his money back. But to find a honest lawyer and to get things going you need money. And the Thai party has time enough and hope to postpone as long as possible. So long that you have no money left to go on with the case.

Yes we read here that you can't beat the bad Thai wife in court, but I know some cases they did!

  4. In 1993 we stayed on Koh Samui Chaweng Beach. One night we went out and came back my suitcase was stolen from my room. We suspected the owner, who gavce us back the rent for the room so easily. But we couldn't proof anything. But being at the Tourist Police that day I found out that it happened a lot. At the same time there were 3 other tourists to bring in a "criminal act". So was everything back then so much better as it is now? I don't think so, only now the word gets spread out quickly on the internet.

  5. I never reply to the stories here and certainly not to the replies. But I want to try today. So many articles and so many people responding to it. But many times the reply becomes negative about Thai people and Thailand. I understand the reasons for being negative, but why stay in a country where the people are stupid and the rules are wrong? When you really feel that Thai people are stupid and that Thailand is bad, why don't you go to your own country. Feeling negative and being negative makes your neighbours and your friends negative. Your whole world will become negative and depressing. And is that what you want?

I agree that many mistakes are made. But I also look at all accidents that happen back home or any place. I think I have no place to go, because there is always something to complain about.

I am not saying that we should ignore everything, but seeing all the negative same respondings here, I just felt I had to say something today.

I wish everybody who stays here in Thailand a good stay and that you can enjoy the good things that Thailand has to offer. And for those who like to reply to this in a negative way, I can only wish you a short life so that you can go to paradise and enjoy your stay there. But I am going to enjoy my life here, in Thailand with all it's mistakes and crazy things.....

  6. Give it to the Dutch , they know what to do , their country has big surfaces UNDER sea level , great water managing experts.

Good idea. We are famous for our water management! But that also takes time. And now that is something Bangkok doesnt have. The longer this take the more damage this gives. We see the water as a problem now, but what problems will you see when the water is gone. Houses that are so damaged that they should be rebuild. I feel sorry for all the people who will go back home when the water is gone and they will face all the things they lost.

I think it's now time to put the hands together for Yellow and Red to become Orange, to show they love Thailand and that they are Real Thai persons. Yellow is now already shouting that the New Goverment is doing so much wrong, but face it, all problems are not from the last 3 or 4 months. Problems started because of lack of service or wrong constructions, or no construction at all. The last years the Goverment did nothing to solve this kind of problems. And yes Thaksin is now the leader, but she had this as a goodbye present from the incompetent goverment who has been in power for the last years.

In my area there is a budget for service, milions of baths going through hands. I guess the money runs like water, but only to the wrong places.

  7. Hm many problems here I too have been asked " have you got a room for a month"

    My fear is

they move in not only themselves but 5-6 other people into a studio room , dont want to pay a big deposit and then dissapear after the month leaving my room destroyed, what they want is a room at a 12 month price for 1 month, well it aint hapening in one of my units :whistling:

You want to stay a month your'e gonna pay a 3 month price.

Its people like you that are making this situation so bad. And if you are a westerner then its DEFINITELY people like you that make the rest of us look bad.

Why could you not just do the same price and take a larger deposit???

People are in hard times here.

I would love to have encountered you on my travels to find a condo after my house flooded>

Dear OP, compassion seems to be a key word given the circumstances.

Put yourself on the other side of the picture, would you like others to show some compassion?

You all make me laugh. Travelman has got it exactly right. Scorecard, will you have some compassion for Travelman and send him 100K baht to refurbish and refit his room when the occupants pi** off in a month without paying their bills because they dont have a one year contract and don;t care? The market drives the prices, that's why you pay double the price for a hotel room or a flight when you want to take your kids on holiday at easter. If someone is charging 4K a month rent next door then you cant/shouldn't charge 1500. You pay the going rate. I have not heard of people with existing long term contracts being charged an increase, that would be contestable in the local court.

Everyone wants water and eggs at the same price and complain at traders putting the prices up. Have you any idea of the costs associated with going and finding large stocks of bottled water, collecting it and delivering it? It is not a mass organised logistics system that is cheap in the long term, it is an expensive short term fix that requires time, effort and gasoline. Of course it is going to cost more, there are higher costs to incur by the trader. I can provide as many people with rice that need it. I just have to drive 3 hours to the border with Malaysia and stock up, but before I even sell it to you I have incurred 3K baht worth of fuel costs and a full days work to just collect the rice. Is your bag of rice going to go up in price? You do the maths, but to charge at the 'normal price' would mean I incur a massive loss, and that does not make sense for any trader.

I agree with the commercial pricing. You buy something its normal that you have to ask double, thats trading. But in the past the chinese traders had sugar in stock, and kept it in stock. They just let the sugar price go up, and shops run out of stock. This also happened with the cooking oil. Now what do you think will happen the coming months? Right, rice, sugar, oil, and other products the chinese own prices will go up.

And about renting a room, when you are in this bussiness, you know how to charge people. This situation should not change it. So when you get a costumor for 1 month, what do you usually charge? When this changed now, because of demand, the people who overcharge are sick. When you charge like you normally do I agree. Making a fortune out of flooding, hmm I hope the future won't bring bad luck to these people. The one they overcharge now might offer them help in the future, but against what price? There is a nice story about a lion and a mouse. First the lion wants to eat the mouse. But the mouse convinces him not to kill. Later the lion gets trapped in a net, and the mouse bites the net. Best friends after that. Story for kids, but some adults could learn from it.
