  1. We want the truth!!

    Until then... BOYCOT KOH TAO!

A completely stupid post. If they are guitly what will you say then. "Oh people I was wrong, my appologies to all the good operaters of guest houses and hotels for the last twenty years, my bad". Social media is faceless and yet powerful. For sure pressure the BIB, but I think it's pretty pathetic to add salt to the wounds of innocent business owners and operators surely suffering in the shadow of this horid event.

"If they are guilty" ... if you have been following closely the case you should now that statement makes no sense. Social media power and loss of tourism revenues are the only reason why Scotland Yard is let in. And the only hope to reform this rotten and corrupted system.

  2. How long will this ban last?

The army already visited kpn and banned all parties but the FTP 3 months ago. It took less than a month to get back to normal. This process is standard when a new police chief is appointed. Guess what happens in the few weeks when parties are not allowed?

  3. I do hope once this is all over and tourism returns, that the powers at be realise it is in spite of the p1ss poor handling of this case and not because of it.

This case is never over until the real killers are behind bars IMO...

"...until the real killers are behind bars" Whose bar?

Do you have any idea how ironic that statement actually is considering the location of the victims prior to the incident?

correct!! the problem in fact is that the real killers have not been removed from behind the bars where they sit comfortably and control burmese staff selling drinks to the tourists...

  4. To validate DNA tests, they can obviously get a sample from the two boys. I wonder if the police still have the semen from the victims body to get a new sample from? Or just the DNA test results, which could be from somewhere else i.e. taken from the boys later on, not from the semen.

Seems like no semen no verification.

Not sure if we have the policing and technical expertise to enter such discussions. Given the profile of the case I'm Sure British police have the people and the knowledge to get things done.

  5. Yes and no. To be fair it also shows a tremendous ammount of courage/confidence to open up the investigation to international scrutiny.

If the Brits come along and condemn the investigation and it's finding it could be his opportunity to overhaul the entire police force

If the Brits come along and support the findings of the RTP then it shows how he was right and the police did a good job.

There are of course many other correlations, but whatever happens I do hope that the Brits are given the access they are promised, and the outcome is a full and fair trial with correct evidence and a little bit of closure for the families.

    .

My rating for both David Cameron and General Prayuth Chan-o-cha has just stepped up a notch, very sensible approach by both men - they have done the right thing and IMO Thailand has restored "face"

Lets see how this pans out

The general was backed in to a corner and this is huge loss of face on his part.

Probably one of the worst things that can happen to Thai elite and on the world stage!

II wouldn't call it "courage / confidence" though but rather "political mastery" and "survival insutinct" by the Gen. that shows why he was able to get the top post and cling to it.

If British police find the real murderers he will put the blame on RTP chief (hence his paranoid statements as soon as he heard of the news)

Otherwise he will take the merit as the PM of a country with a great police force and a PM willing to be transparent.

  6. He is going to have to learn to keep his mouth shut on things like this.

He has done a lot of good so far and has the potential to do more but getting involved in things like this only makes him lose credibility.

He has made mistakes before and this is another which does him no good at all.

I respect your opinion but i totally disagree.

What are the great achiements so far, other than cleaning a couple of beaches in Phuket?

Nothing when compared to the elimination of the democratic rule and basic Human rights, not to mention the substitution of a corrupted system with an equally corrupted one.

  7. That statement is rather telling and almost threat-like:

"Anyone can come to Thailand, but don't forget that what is our issue, is our issue," he said of British offer of help.

Can you imagine the UK allowing Thai help in their country?

Or what about the US lol

If another country wanted to see the evidence they would be welcome in the US. Can't say about the UK. But the investigation would be transparent, expertly done, and there would be nothing to hide.

ALL of the evidence would also become public at the trial.

This is about something to hide and it's being hidden from Burma who is complaining and from the UK who is complaining. If the Thais really have proof they need to show the world because they are quickly losing all credibility. Period.

    Fair point.

I feel the dictators have to refuse help - they know the police have framed two innocent but can't turn around now, it would be such a loss of face.

Actually, according to the news, 4 days after the murder, RTP was looking in bkk for the son of a local business owner where the victims spent the night with friends. Then they suddenly changed direction and started looking for scapegoats. Not sure if this change was independently taken by RTP or was ordered by a pm that is seeing tourism fall over 10% yoy for its martial law and unacceptable coup.

  8. We want the truth!

    Until then... BOYCOT KOH TAO!

    highly unlikely though

there will be stupid goons that think "oh, I cannot be that unlucky to be murdered" or

"I know what I am doing" or "I can fend for myself"

So, KT will still continue to see visitors unless the tourists really fear for the safety of their lives

Actually...the 'stupid goons' as you call them seem to have the odds on their side.....out of the hundreds of thousands (or maybe millions) visiting Koh Tao over the past decade, how many have been murdered? Your odds of being killed on the road in Thailand are far higher than the odds of being murdered on Koh Tao.

Agreed. nevertheless you can be killed on the road anywhere, whereas I hope in fewer place you can be murdered in such an horribe fashion, with the entire police and government system covering up and placing the blame equally on yourself (for being engaged to a jealous gay or wearing a bikini) and on a couple of innocent scapegoats.

You are right indeed, but I do not want to be a "stupid goon" and hope more people will think the same.
