  1. Southampton have signed QPR striker Charlie Austin in a deal reported to be worth £4m.The 26-year-old has passed a medical and agreed terms at St Mary's.

Risk or bargain. BARGAIN I reckon.

Great bit of business by Southampton....QPR should have sold a bit earlier than this....not sure how much they've bought Washington for? seems they realize this year isn't going to result in promotion by not pushing the boat out to keep Austin.

  2. Just for information.

I did my Non B visa at PP at the beginning of October. I did the application through an agent from Bangkok & was able to get it the next day.

Word of warning though.....make sure you've got all your ducks in a row! The officer there is a "cross the T's & dot the i's" chap. My agent said before they would let it slide if the odd document was missing. Not now though

  3. Were had a shocking winter, going from, topish in sept plummetting to the fringes of the relegation battle, and with strong rumors of administration, thanks to 4 home games postponed on the trot!!!!, leading to tisdale being told he needs to cut his wage bill and consequently top earner alan gow going on loan to bristol rovers w00t.gif The good news is the player tisdale insisted on coming the other way richards has scored 5 in 6 starts culminating in the winner and completing a lengendary double, last night over and at the home of our bitter rivals argylecheesy.gif last was in 93!!!!!, and push's us clear of the drop. Other bit of good news is that yoof is coming thru big style 8 out of the 18 including the bench have come through the ranks at the club and trust me there's some real quality there and plenty more 2 come through.

This is probably the better news for non league clubs right now. The brightest talent will see that youth gets it's chance further down the leagues & will get real playing time so are prepared to start off with the "smaller" clubs

  4. stuttering end for the reds this season...king billy needs to work a few more miracles to get us in the playoffs this season I think.....doesn't help that none of our strikers have scored since December....not good enough Coxy, Blackstock Sharpy....get your fingers out these last two games !!!

  5. Terrible start by BG this season...Stubbins ripped the heart out the team...and letting Heik go!! Can'y believe it. After the long trek down to Songklha for the first game the writing was on the wall as to the impending struggle. Hopefully, after the convincing win against M150 on Wednesday we've turned the corner??

I'll be at Minburi this Sunday to cheer us on against Bec Tero...come on lads...carry on the good form from Wednesday night.

  6. Rochdale v Bury local ekky thump derby next season mr. BJ.....if Bury still have a team up there??

Yeah Bury still have a tean Chavs. They've just been relegated to div 2

Yes mate, but need a mill to keep them going so I read last week?

  7. After losing our complete midfield to injury a bad run ended after a battling draw at afc wimbledon, earned by a brace on his full debut for jamie reid!!! probably a little to late for a place in the play offs, but what can you do.

In better shape than Torquay. Dreadful run, and the Alan Knill appointment has been a disaster.

What's wrong with Ling then Toadie ???

Billy no mates is back at the CG....wrong time for the wheels to fall off the big red promotion band wagon though !!

Rochdale v Bury local ekky thump derby next season mr. BJ.....if Bury still have a team up there??

  8. GREAT DAY FOR LOWER LEAGUE FOOTBALL

    CONGRATULATIONS BRADFORD

    AWESOME !!!!!!

Absolutely. I was looking for an Aston Villa thread but there ain't one. They'll probably belong in here next season anyway biggrin.png

Do things ever work out for a manager the second time around at a club? well lets hope so for rochdale's sake

Me too. He certainly can't do any worse than Coleman.............hopefully !!

Coleman wasn't too far off MrBJ....For me the ekky thump chairman missed the boat on the appointment after Hill went was totally wrong....the momentum was lost appointing an inexperienced manager from the lower leagues......IMO..the likes of Ronnie More, Micky Adams, Steve Evans would have been a better fit at the time. Just to get my oar in biggrin.png

  9. when the arabs took over at forest i posted come on lets do a man city i did't mean lets change our manager every 6 months !!!!!!

No cup run this year to boost finances, how long before the receivers are called in to "The New Portsmouth"?

Dream on. Think about your own perilous state & the fact your still lower in the table than us....& will be for the rest of this season.

Don't waste any time replying....this is my one & only visit this year

  10. O'Driscoll seems to be able to bring in who he wants so far. Maybe there are one or two "gems" in the ME but have to be careful. I can't think the Al-Hasawi family think they could go down this road for transfers...I suppose if there's a few lads to look at they have the avenue to bring them in.

Anyway, are there any of us old football & beer night chaps still around. Last time I heard MrBJ was swanning around Saudi & Toady was doing his Tom Hanks impression on some island somewhere

  11. No chance......

At least the family seem to not be bothered about doing an "about turn re an iconic signing" O'Driscolls record is up there with the best of the championship managers..Sven's is not.Let's hope they open the purse strings & get players in....proper players...not nondescript players from the likes of Northampton who just scrape in league 2 each year

  12. The wally with the brolly is our new manager !!!!!! OH JOY !!!!!!!!

As much as I liked Billy Davies, he has had his chances and I couldn't see him taking this squad up the extra gear needed to secure promotion.

McClaren will get on with the board, has achieved relative success and should be given some cash to play with.

Doughty will back him in the transfer market, he has no choice now he's gone for a high profile manager....he did it with Platt which nearly buried us into the Blue Square North some years ago :(

Not sure what it was with BD? He was a good talker (& moaner) but when it came to the crunch failed miserably in the playoffs!

So you've bought a new brolly then???

Now... shock horror :o they want Calderdud as his assistant !!

yes, I have a new brolly....armed with poisonous tip !!

  13. Derby fans hold regular get togethers in Bangkok.

Location , the third telephone booth from the right just under Thong Lo skytrain station

IA spoke to Chavy the other day, he's looking forward to going out on a Derby County get together.

Sure am....I shall go armed with my ipod as I can see me being very lonely during the night.:o

Good joke, unfortunately I don't get it!

I recently walked by the booth in question....it was empty & no atmosphere!! abit like pride park I thought to myself :whistling:

Sad really, the OP can't get a civilised answer to a perfectly rational question B)

  16. Twitchy a**e time again at the CG !! Thought the last 2 games won by a margin of 3-2 have at least given us some hope of staying in the playoff positions. If we can't beat Scunthorpe & palace in our last 2 games then surely we have no right to contest the playoff games.....never mind reach the promised land

  17. Well, i got my season ticket for Bangkok Glass FC on Sunday. 1st league match Pattaya United this Saturday. I hear the game will be played in Chonburi though? Due to ground alterations apparently? If anyone knows where Pattaya will play this game I'd be grateful if someone could post.:jap:
