I was referring to the one sold by Ikea, there is a crevice in the part that collects the finished brew.

Never mind.... I just wanted to highlight that I'm very happy with this kind of coffee pot. You have to be happy with whatever device you choose to brew your coffee with. At the end it comes back to the fact, that the main ingredients are the coffee beans you choose. Enjoy.

Ikea has version of the moka pot.

Pain the arse to clean it.

These days I use the Melitta-type paper filters.  Turns out the sludge in the bottom of the cup was keeping me awake, so I stock up on filters at Daiso when in the Big City.

???    Water in the bottom part of the "coffee machine", grind coffee in the stainless steel filter provided and then screw all together... Cleaning all parts of the coffeepot only with plain water.... (top part of the pot has a screen as well, so no "sludge" in the coffee) Cleaning takes less than a minute.IMAG0132.thumb.jpg.9a38140cd9833ef486f6733ddd52684c.jpg

  3. The fact is, if your skills are needed in Thailand, as you have correctly stated, a good paying job can be had in Thailand

Problem being, most people asking questions in posts like this are usually totally unskilled at anything.

And often unemployable in their home countries too.

I'm assuming if OP was qualified to do anything at all, he would have stated that in his OP.

Assumptions assumptions only in this case you're the @ss. Also can't someone ask a question without it applying to himself? I start a thread asking this question this definitely means i want to work in thailand and i have no skills in anything. I'll let you know i am working for a fortune 500 company.

It is exactly people like you that makes asking questions so difficult in the forum.

Someone asks about the criminal and justice system in thailand = he must have committed some crime in thailand. That is the type of assumption you are making here.

... and I have no skills in anything.... This statement tells a lot about your chances to find a job at home and here in Thailand as well. No need to go into further details.

I did many jobs here in Thailand and was offered more than once a contract to stay with the company, but I always denied because I love my freedom. Being employed here in Thailand means that you have special skills and if these skills are needed then there is no weekend, no holiday and no eight hours a day... The payment and social security is also below international standards IMHO. The decision to work in Thailand is an individual decision, depending on opportunity and whether it is worth it. I'm sure that Soutpeel made his decision to stay in Thailand was not only based on the fact that the salary was a "one in a lifetime"....

  4. Has a list of hotels with discounted rooms been published yet?

I'm heading to Pattaya in June and I'm trying to find some cheap rooms in good hotels. No problem if a Thai gf makes the reservation krap?

You sound like someone who is not familiar with "good hotels". Good hotels don't have cheap rooms

  5. The question is, is it possible to send parts overseas and get the same parts back, without paying any import taxes? That would be a very interesting way to overhaul engines. Get top quality machining and lose only fright costs. Someone have experience on this?

  6. It looks like a hornets nest. I had the same in my garden. If it doesn't bother you that much then just leave it. Don't chase them and don't try to burn the nest, etc. You can live in harmony with them. After 1 year they are gone and you can remove the nest without danger and keep it in your house as a beautiful trophy etc, or sell it. Especially Thai people like to b

Sorry. but is not a hornets nest. It is a bees swarm and most probably disperse in a short while. Don't disturb them as they ill sting, as I found out while cutting vegetation underneath their swarm. I found them quit docile otherwise. A hornets nest is like a paper ball shaped construction and the hornets enter and exit through small openings. Again, I have had several of these in my garden and if left alone (keep children away from the nest as there is a temptation to throw stones at it) they are fairly docile.
Yes, it seem to be swarming bees. They go for a new Queen and will be off after their job is done. They will then found a new hive and start reproducing and collecting honey. Leave them, their honey is delicious and quite expensive.

  7. Some embassy want you book flight and insurance before you can apply schengen visa!

Nobody can expect you book a flight without a visa. When I applied for a visa for my wife (through Germany), no confirmed flight was required. The travel insurance can be obtained before and will be refunded completely when the visa is denied. Just go back to the insurance and present the denial letter to get your money back. As said, a confirmed flight is not required
