Once they discover Covid cases in all of the other provinces across Thailand , i'm sure there will be a nationwide lockdown within the next few days.
Once that happens, we will then see Alcohol bans as well. Maybe a good time to stock up for those who like a drink?

For anyone looking for Absolut vodka in the 7/11's and TOPS at the bottom end of Soi Khao Talo, you'd best look in other shops, they were sold out just after 12 noon today!

I would suggest that once Thai sky open up for travelers from S. Korea you contact the Thai embassy there, show the proof you've been in S. Korea all that time and ask for a special permission to travel to Thailand.

If I have to stay here that'll be the plan, but I after working here since 2016 I'd rather be somewhere else if there's an option!

  3. I've been in South Korea since 12th February and have the immigration slip stating same, but from what I've read online as a British passport holder I'll not be able to get home to Thailand anytime soon and Brits could be at the back of the queue for returning, gonna be looking for somewhere else to go come mid July as my contract finishes then.

If anyone has any suggestions for SE Asian countries that are allowing tourists back in I'd be interested to know.

This is a very interesting point.

I think there are regulations (UK anyway) which state that if you have a drivers license for another country you must relinquish your original license. i.e. you can't have two licenses, each for a different country.

Thus: with Thai Motorcycle License (and Thai issued IDP) its possible I can ride a motorcycle in the UK even though I've never taken the full UK test.

It would be interested to know if this holds any water.

Not sure about buying but I have been hiring cars in the UK for years using my Thai licenses, hire companies state 'Foreign license must be in English', have also used my Thai M/C license to hire a Harley a few years back.

  5. I've been flying between Bangkok and Busan fairly regular over the last 3 years, business class not economy and have tried all the regular airlines on this route. Thai is by far the best of the 3 airlines available!

Departing Busan if you don't want to take a chance on the 3 regular meals there is a choice of 5 or so meals which can be pre-ordered, all are of an acceptable standard.

Regards to drinks, always juice and often champagne are served whilst passengers are still boarding and they keep serving right up until just before landing. On one of the 'local' carriers if you ask for a third drink it is like the Spanish Inquisition to check that you are OK to have another......'Duty of Care' is what they call it!

Whilst Thai are not as good as they once were, nor on par with the likes of Emirates and Etihad for long haul, IMO they are better than most for flights around SE Asia.

  6. Has anyone else at TV signed up for a condo at Diamond Suites on Pratamnak Hill in Pattaya?

I am due to complete the transfer on a unit shortly but I've lost the build specification sheet that I was given by the developer.

If anyone has a copy of this I'd be grateful if they could let me have a copy.

    Thanks.

  7. I have flown Thai BKK-ICN rtn business class regularly for the last 2 years, yes I agree the planes are not the newest around, but the service has always been excellant, which cannot be said about the food.

The quality of the food seems to have gone down as the price of tickets goes up! Recently flew BKK-MAD rtn on Thai Royal First, again service was excellant, just my wife and me going out in 1st class section, but the food was terrible and if a Thai lady won't eat you know its bad!!!!!!

Airmile credits; still waiting for the TAP flights to be added to our ROP accounts even though the MAD-LIS boarding passes were issued by Thai at the BKK Royal First check-in desk.

  8. Hi To All

My wife's mother is staying with us in UK for 6 months on a family visitor visa. We were thinking of taking the family over to Spain or Portugal for a few weeks holiday including the Mother-In-Law and wanted to know if it is possible to get a shengen visa for her to come with us. If anyone has any info: it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes try www.eurovisa.info/SchengenVisa or just type in word Schengen Visa on your search engine

Has anyone at TV been to the Portugese embassy for a Schengen Visa? Hoping to go to Portugal in October for a family holiday, so I will be taking my wife to get one next time I'm home.
