I have a bone spur or ganglion cyst
(not sure which) on the underside of my wrist. I've had it for many years but recently it has caused a lot of pain as it seems to be on the nerve.
Looking for a recommendation on a specialist surgeon as it's in a tricky location with nerves and artery. Thank you.

I have a tiny pilar cyst (size of a pea) on my upper forhead which I want removed. Does anyone have a recommendation for a skilled doctor ( Bangkok) who might manage to leave minimally scarring.

You have not mentioned what type of hernia? For example, I had an inguinal hernia which was repaired using the laproscopic method, which has barely any scarring and quicker recovery.

Where in Phuket can I book a private PCR test at the cheapest price? It's around 2000 baht in BKK, anything similar in Phuket.
I'd rather not use BKK hospital etc which are always more expensive.

Great thread of information here, I too seem to be suffering from Sciatica for 4 months on and off. Although never extremely painful it is highly annoying and I just can't seem to get rid of it. Tried all the stretches. The named doctor at BNH suggested an electromyography at around 15,000 baht. It seemed a lot just to tell me I had sciatica! I thought the mri might be more useful, i'll go and get a second opinion. I really don't want surgery, as the risks seem high at 2% I read. I'm in my late 30s.

I am bit worried about being injected with this dye. I have no issues with the MRI as I had one on my knee before.
The reason for the MRI is because my Cardiac stress test potentially showed up Left Ventricular Hypertrophy. My blood pressure is fluctuating high and this, my doctor feels is caused by my moderate sleep apnea.
A second opinion doctor seems to think i'm fine but anxious or stressed. ( although said the stress test results can happen like this for younger (late 30's) males)
Evidentally, I had a heart echo 2 years ago on a seperate issue that showed my heart was fine. Perhaps its changed in that time?
So my question... Is it worth getting this dye injected into me when my issue may not even be serious?

what have your symptoms got to do with sleep apnea? why are you getting tested for this?
As stated, younger people should not have fluctuating high blood pressure for 2 years ++?
My cardiac stress test should up a possible left ventricle hypertrophy.
Sleep apnea could be the cause, so my doctor wants to check if I have it. Sleep apnea is not just about snoring and not getting enough sleep, it can be the cause of fatal heart issues that you do not even know about.

I'm actually going to have this done tomorrow! I'm in my 30s, slim, healthy enough, don't snore much that I know of, sleep fairly well ( however wake up on occasion) Reason for the test, fluctuating high blood pressure and potential heart issues.

did he eat at every establishment in both places?I don't want to get involved in the local Phuket boundry wars. These were just my opinion from what I experienced. I ate in 3 places in Kamala and all were very poor. I ate in 2 very good places and one okay place in Rawai. The places in Kamala could have been down to my poor choice of establishment.
I have no reason to be biased. I'm sure there are great places to eat there. I'll leave it at that for this debate.

Would Rawai, Kamala be best for that? I ususlly stay in Patong but have heard it's dead.
So I made it to both Rawai and Kamala. I have to say Rawai was much better.
Unfortuately the bar closure did not help! But I found Rawai to have better food, better beach (Nai Harn) more choices, more people where as Kamala seemed quite dead apart from a couple of beach side restaurants. I could imagine Kamala being much better pre covid.
Thanks for the advice on both locations.

Has anyone tried it or know if it works and any possible risks? Dr Panya at Bumungrad suggested it for my Patellar tendonitis but it's the first I heard of it so doing some research into it.

Any half decent courses to play around here. 1000 -1500 inclusive. No cart needed. ( although most seem to insit on it?)
I already have one, St James at Khao Yai. Any others near Korat?
-
I'm lookong for a recommendation for the actual surgeon rather then the name of a generally good dental practice.
It can be from a hospital or dental clinic, however not wanting to pay through the roof.
Any one with any good experiences in Bangkok?

It is also quite possible that no MRI is needed; many knee problems can be reasonably diagnosed and managed without - including tendonititis. It is a waste of money to get an MRI for tendonitis
Thanks Sheryl, I agree, however I have had this issue on and off for over 2 years. I gave up sports, tried hip strengthening exercises, but it can still, after all this time, suddenly appear
and then disappear for no apparent reason.

I had laproscopic done in another country and I would highly recommend this method. Little or no scarring and a shorter recovery time.
-
I have been a patient in BKK hospital for it before, so i'm hoping he would read the results anyway. He is a specalist on sports injury, hence why I wanted him to view it. Any idea if I need contrast for my specific case? No swelling, just a long term on and off injury.
-
Can a MRI be read at any hospital if I get it on a cd? I would like to get it done at a cheaper hospital, but get the results examined at BKK hospital sports department.
Sukhumvit cost 9800
BKK Christian 8500
BKK hospital 17000
I think it may be pattellar tendoinitis, as I had that in my other knee previously. Would a normal MRI suffice or would I need a contrast MRI which is more expensive?
Thanks on advance for any help with this.

There are far too many bars even before Covid. It's easy to find an empty bar to get the photo op narrative, give it a chance, its mid week, mostly retired local farangs would be out.
Wait until next weekend, it's a national holiday on Friday so there should be a few expats coming to the bars from BKK and a few Thais to fill the hotels seafood places etc.

Today I went to see a doctor about a varicocele condition at St Louis hospital. I also enquired about the cost of surgery, I was given the estimate and told a covid test would also be needed before surgery at 4000 baht +.
Is this the case in all hospitals now? Or just a rip off procedure at St Louis? I went there on recommendation from here, but I can't say I was that impressed with the place.

Does 'other people' include farangs?

Once all this Covid eventually finishes they will go back to ripping tourists off. They won't learn anything from these hard times.

Amazing, I hope they are properly protected until they find their way out to sea.
