  1. How much is reasonable for 3 hours a day for 3 days a week to pay someone to do general gardening  in korat (save one area) and do you know anyone?

  2. I have been to all the cities you mention and could not wait to get back to korat. But people will always say the city they live in is the best and for them like me it is, so try them all meet other westerners and try all the restaurants etc etc. I meet many English, Aussies and a few other nationalities in one of the three large shopping malls we have here and also have friends who dont like to meet that way, preffering to meet at home or restaurant. I am English and if you decide to visit Korat DM me and we will meet up for a pint/coffee/tea.

  3. I need the grass cutting where I live I can not cut it myself due to health problems. I am about 1 km from saveone market in Korat. Any recommendations by way of phone number please.

  4. I am arriving in Thailand in December on a visa exempt.

I plan to apply for a non o visa as soon as poss then apply for retirement visa.

I have booked a one way ticket so what I am wondering is do I need to buy a throwaway ticket to say laos or cambodia to keep I.O happy and if so whats the cheapest way for said ticket. Also is it best to get the throwaway near the end of the 45 days.

You can apply for a non-o visa with a 30 day visa exempt entry or the 30 day extension of it. You must have 15 days remaining on your stay to apply for it.

    Requirements are here. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/6.FOR-PROVIDING-SUPPORT-TO-OR-BEING-A-DEPENDANT-OF-A-THAI-CITIZEN-SPOUSE-VISA-NON-O.pdf

Then during the last 30 days of the 90 day stay the non-o visa allows you could apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage to a Thai.

Regarding section 6.3 what exactly does it mean.

Quite a few countries far better than TH for "active bachelors" in my opinion. Like Brazil and Colombia. I'd be living there now if they didn't tax my pension.

Many other countries are better than TH in that respect too but have so poor an infrastructure that you wouldn't want to live there long.

You wife can enter Thailand with a expired Thai passport. I see not reason for their being a problem to do it.

The basic medical insurance is needed to apply for a non-o visa based upon retirement. It only needs to be valid for 90 days.

If you do not want deal with the insurance and applying for the non-o visa you could enter visa exempt to get a 30 day stay and then apply for the non-o visa at immigration and then the one year extension near the end of the 90 day stay it allows.

    Info here: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/9.FOR-RETIREMENT-PURPOSES-50-YEARS-OLD-NON-O.pdf

I overstayed by accident ( did not read my visa properly) for two weeks about 5 years ago will that stop me getting a retirement visa?.

  7. Asking for a Thai friend.

her daughter is 2 and half years old. she plans to bring daughter to Thailand next month and stay for 2 months. problem being her daughter has a UK passport but not a Thai one. Mother has both. So what is the way forward ie apply for visa for child and then go to embassy whilst in Thailand to apply for daughters Thai passport.

When she enters using her expired Thai passport she will be stamped in as a Thai. Then when  leaving the country she would use her new Thai passport.

Not sure why she would think she would be fined for a overstay since she did not use her UK passport for entry to Thailand.

Hi Ubon sorry I did not see your reply and just posted a new one with same query.

  9. My Thai wifes passport has expired we are in UK now. She has a UK passport also. If she exits UK on UK passport and enters Thailand on expired passport then renews her Thai passport to exit Thailand and enters UK on UK passport will that be ok. The slight doubt she has is if she leaves UK on UK passport that they would stamp UK passport then when leaving Thailand they might see that she used UK passport to leave UK thus fine her for overstay. sorry for long winded explanation but hope someone can clarify if everything will be ok and no overstay problem.

Just a query on that ubon. I read this to my wife who's Thai passport has also expired and she is concerned that if she uses her UK passport to leave UK and enter Thailand on Thai passport like OP mentions that when she returns to UK they would fine her for overstaying because her UK passport would be stamped for usual 30 days but she will return in aprox 90 days.
