  5. somewhere on this forum, is a dsecription of how to get the modem working in linux.

search the koppel site for setting up a "User Defined" modem...you wlll need to download a .tar of the config files koppel uses to uttilize a user defined modem..them you must edit those files to match the cmotech's manufacturs id and device id. then check the message log...on mine...it initally would create a connection..but there was some sort of reconnection script enabled..that caused it to disconnect in 30 seconds..so then i had to go thru and idsable that automatic reconnection script.

it took me a few days of searching to get right..and i don't remember the exact steps..but this info should get yhou thru some roadblocks.

thank you verry much for your answer like that im not in to the deep dark...

it will probably take me few days too... :o

    bye :D

  6. hi matt,

    thank's for the info

im going to flash the router with the version 1.71.trx from koppel.cz

tryed now, but no success from the web interface im going to system settings and firmware upgrade select the .trx

    than get

    Firmware Upgrade Fail !

Firmware upgrade fail. It may result from incorrect image or error transmission. Please check the version of firmare and try again.

    any advise?

    thank you

    bye :o

  7. I cannot 100% confirm to you that the ccu-680 works (I use the ccu-650, the older Rev. 0 Model). But they use standard modem AT commands to communicate with the USB modem. But if you can find an article confirming the ccu-680 works in linux, then you should be OK. I'm a computer geek, and it took me the better part of a day to get the router's firmware flashed, and setup with the ccu-650. I'm not sure Cradlepoint offers full support for the ccu-680 either..

    --matt

    hi thank's for the answer,

i didint fund a 100% confirmation for the 680 but it suppose to work with the softwear dd-wrt

so go one im going to try, thank's for your test

i give the news soon when the test done, but i must order it first...

    bye

  8. I have a wl500-gpv2, but any of the Asus routers with a USB port can be flashed with a different firmware. I don't do load balancing, but use the koppel firmware which is based on the asus firmware. But if I had an hour or two to play around with it, I would flash using OpenWRT. OpenWRT has load balancing modules you can compile in. I purchased the router from the States, but I know the routers are available here also. It was only $60 after rebate from the states.

But if you haven't worked with linux before, you will need some help.

hi, thank's alot for the quick reply, im busy for the 2 next days i will look more about thomorow night

    bye

  9. The Asus routers can be flashed to load balance also, so really all you need is 1 Asus router with 2 USB ports (or a USB hub)

CAT downloads via HTTP are really fast compared to SSH and FTP downloads, so if you want to download something fast, use http. I have a server in the states, download my torrents there, and then http (with resume) them with a download manager. I easily pull 130kB/sec from the US....and I'm 8 km from the base station w/o line of sight (but I have an amp).

    hi thank's for the info,

can you tell me exactely the references of your asus routers and where you have buy it

    thank you

  10. basically it could work, you would need to build a special feed ( as a replacement for the LNB) though.

But the main point is: For 850 MHz, the "TV"-Dishes (usually 60 .. 80 cm diameter) are too small to get good results. You can expect gains of about 10 dB, which is easily surpassed with other designs.

thank's for the info i understand and the biggest i have is 80cm so go one for another design much better :o

  11. there maybe some wifi routers that will accept the USB modem

yes there is a wifi routers that accept the usb from cat telecom the cradlepoint mbr 1000 and also the kyocera kr2

i fund a post about that in phuket.me forum yo can have a look

    http://www.phuket.me/2008/07/sharing-an-ev...iple-computers/

    http://www.phuket.me/2008/06/cat-evdo/

the kyocera kr2 available in thailand here http://www.surfnshop.biz/index.php?lay=sho...e&Id=348101 thank's "Thai Life" for the link

    bye

  12. However i found a slightly modified version (which as a triangle instead of a square as the "lower" sheet). [start reading from page 20 if you're confused...]

This description is basically all i used, you just need to , as mentioned in the last paragraph of the document, need to "scale" all measurements for CDMA use:

For CAT-CDMA use i chose the frequency to be 859 MHz ( the middle of 894 and 824 Mhz ) and thus the wavelength (lambda) will be 34.7 cm. Use this for the measurement calculations on the last page and give it a try!

    hi phallang,

thank's for share your knowledge about antenna, it's usefull for me. :o

nice antenna you have build yourself, do you think it's working with a standard tv dish off course with the adaptation for such reception? ( i have few im not using so...)

    thank you :D

  13. so, if someone has a weblink or something... would be good thank you

    http://www.bezte.com/

Try these guys. Explain your problem and see if they have anything that can help you. I bought something from them many years ago, and found them basically knowledgeable and willing to overlook some less than reasonable regulations.

No experience with them for several years though, so no guarantees. In my case, they were able to special order something for me that wasn't locally available, and would have required some finesse to get through customs.

That's about the best I can offer you, other than the knowledge that there are ways to improve your situation, but it will probably requiring some experimenting on your part.

ok thank you for the link and info about your experience with this company

i have look myself a little more and fund this page interesting for manny kind of antenna http://www.siammastershop.com

    bye

  14. hi,

thank you for those informations about antenna cable etc... interesting

but i still dont know where i can purchase such material here in thailand

so, if someone has a weblink or something... would be good thank you

my probleme im to fare from the tower it's working allready not so bad but if it can work better can be ok also

(about my location cat telecom said dont need to try it's not working hahaha... if i was beliving them i would still be with my ipstar 4 times slower and 4 times more expensive)

    thank you

  15. There are a number of consumer grade routers on sale in Fortune now that support load balancing. One was a Linksys 4-port VPN router, thinking about buying one of those as an experiment.

Prices were in the range 3-5,500 baht.

    hi thank's for the info.

have you tryed on of those rooter you talking about now?

because im on ccu680 and i have a server so i need to do ftp - port forwarding

so it is possible with one of those?

have you a trusted weblink where i can purchase it in thailand?

    thank you

" i have allready 2 bab experiences with ordering stuff from US the invoices just desaspere so if i can order from thailand would be much better for me,
