The main problem is apparently not connected to any specific application  or service (Gmail Youtube .. )
but the the network and the routers 
IN my case there are still some slow  acces to specific  data

for example right now with thai visa  still   ''' transferrring  dat from assets.thaivisa.com '''      .....

( when you connect  you can see at the bottom of th page   the page that your browser try to  access  ....

I use 3BB  Windows8 and Firefox

change the DNS to public google DNS

I suscribed for DTAC Maximize promotion 1200 THB per month 4 months ago for my business

But the signal in my area is very bad (probably because I stay near by the ChiangMai Airport ???)

I have complained without any answer from DTAC only"we will check the signal in your area" without any return

Does somebody knows the way to cancel the contract ??

or any alternative (sell the mobile, mobile lost with SIM, reduce the promotion to less, switch to prepaid by DTAC, switch to AIS, ......

or any way to improve the quality (this mobile is on use at the office ) ?

Anbody have sucessfully get any answer from DTAC after complaining ??

They have complained that the hotel is under renovation room by room - they got a "old" room - for the same price of a recently renovated !!

If you think about a new golf trip to Thailand, do not miss the Northern area

- a lot of things to do - the true Thailand (not the fake one of Phuket & Pattaya)

and the cheapest area (2 to 3 time cheaper than Phuket)

some of the best golf in Thailand (Santiburi in ChiangRai for exemple)

very cheap fees - and as the life is very cheap in the North (2 to 3 time less than Phuket)

ther is more than 200 golf course in Thailand and most of the best in Asia (Blue Canyon in Phuket, a lot around Bangkok and on the road to pattaya, and some very nice in CHIANGMAI the cheapest area of thailand (and the Santiburi of ChiangRai - Number 4 or 5 in my peronal rating of golf course in LOS !!!!)

there life is so expensive with no service

Think about CHIANGMAI (I move from europe 4 years ago after working in Thailand as an civil engeneer in 1987-1988)

Chiangmai,

life is very cheap (2 or 3 time less than Bangkok or Phuket )

weaher is so nice and cool

there is all facilities & services (for examples investigate about a good hospital in HuaHin or Phuket and let me knows !!!)

The city is quite big (200 000 ) but the style is still upcountry style - not the fake style of thai-farang beach resort life (Pattaya, Phuket , ..)

if you plan to have your own business you do not believe that you have to find a place with more customers than HuaHin or Chaam ???

ChiangMai have a lot of big university (if you plan to work as teacher or else..)

and so on ...

Thai gouvernment is promoting since last year "long stay" visa

I do not have any details

it seems that this kind of visa is targetting retired japanese customer staying at expensive resorts for a maximum of 6 months  but  try to gather information

maybe the solution ?

I am 49  years resident in ChiangMai (wheelchair user also) since 2 years

I got the 1 year visa NON-O-immigrant visa

and renew within 1 hour every new year without any problem

I do not know about special visa for disabled people  - if any ?

if you have any evidence of monthly income, just folows the rules and requisite of the Thai embassy

you need to apply in your country (with all original papers officially translated in Thai )

then you get a provisional visa (normally 1month++ until you get your 1 year visa -

If you have all the required papers, you have to open a local bank account with deposit  (actually it seems that you are required to deposit a minimum of 800 000 baths - but regulations has been change recently)  

In my case last years, Immigration requests me only 200 000 bath deposit

If you look in the visa section of this forum,  somebody wrote  recently that now you may get the Non O immigrant visa within 1 hour in Bangkok

for destop  PCs it's Ok to order all the branded components  because any  shop wil be able to replace the part (and support the installation with adequate updated driver)

For Notebook, it is opposite - no upgrade -

look for the best international brand name (HP-Compaq,  Sony, Fujitsu .... )  and buy the best configuration with a maximum of RAM  memory so that you will be able to use this machine for 3 to 4 years (dont expect more than that -  remember the top of the top of notebook 3 years ago - a HP omnibook 6000  Pentium4 600GHz 128Mo RAM 10Go HD  no CDRW !! company discount price equivalent to 3500 US$  !!)

1st) - ask yourself if you really need a laptop  intead of a destop  

2°)

The most important - look carefully  for the garantee -

normally  try to find 3 years full garantee - if necessary international guarantee -  (but unfortunately  only one year for battery for most of the well known brands

My own experience - i bought (as ###### of a big worldwide  company)  an HP omnibook 6000  3 years ago (very expensive - but with 3  years full international garantee)

I have already replaced -the hard disk twice (after 6 months and  just recently  after 2 and half years ) with no cost  

but I had to replace the battery last year (garantee already expired)  for a cost of 10 000 baths (original spare part from HP ! )
