  1. Hi hockeyrick

It is quite strange that I came across your posting as I have a dream to have a fruit orchard of tropical fruit and more on the land we own in Nongbua Lamphu. At present I am in England but will return with many seeds from fruits. In the long term of this project I am hoping we will be able to have a bigger piece of land to grow many different fruits from around the world and thus allow the whole village to be able to grow their own fruit trees on their own land for free. My email is [email protected] if you would like to chat, perhaps even trade seeds with each other. paul

Does anyone know of a ag store or nursery that might have various fruit trees(navel oranges, avocados, etc.) that are ready to transplant?

In avos, already grafted and ready to srat bearing fruit?

I'm in HuaHin and want to plant some different varieties on my small piece of land

    Any help would be appreciated

  2. No better a way to learn than listen to thai's speaking and ask everytime you do not know what they are saying. I spent the last 3months in Isaan and learnt so much, even if it was different dialects

  3. Responsibility is a must from veryone, especially when driving something, however I thought the Thai way was to relax and not have too much confrontation ??. Perhaps your sister in law should pray that this person changes his ways and let it go at that, remember, as my girlfriend always tells me "if we always do something good, it will be good for us in the next life" Ask this man to donate money to a worthy cause in Thailand in exchange for dropping the charges and feel you have done something good for a charity and your heart.

I was probably a Thai in a former life I am told

  4. surely its not the nationality of ones partner which should matter. it should be how much you love her/him and how much fun you have together.

the fact that one may be sexy to you in the beginning should grow stronger once you really know the person, no matter how their body shape may change as you move along in life together.

i, for one, think a mans brain is far more sexy than his six pack.

Well said Donna, I have to say I have totally the same feeling. Not married yet but will be soon. my motto is: only the eyes that see beauty in everything will truly be happy. Yes I am truly happy with my girlfriend who has two grown up boys like I do. Of course she is beautiful and at 40yrs old slightly younger than me at 50. http://spaces.msn.com/studio47

  5. proud of your Thai girlfriend or wife, well I dont believe it has anything to do with money or being a sad farrang. Surely it is what both hearts feel and who cares what anyone else thinks if you are happy. Yep, I am happy, she has two grown up children, as I do and she is most definitely a beautifuland 40yr old woman. Money has never been a big issue in over 3years, although it helps all Thai families and especially if they live in Isaan. If we have it we do, if we dont, we dont nut that does not stop us loving each other

  6. I would love to hear from anyone about the process of marrying a Thai lady. I know the basics but what does a guy do before the whole ceremony thing. I am planning a wedding in Nonmuang, Nongbua Lamphu soon. Cant wait as we have known each other for several years and feel the time is right to commit. Where do you get the marriage certified ?? [email protected] as well as this site is a good place to reach me. Thanks Paul

  7. It is a strange thing "visiting a strange and hot country" and I am not sure you will have heard anything like this, but trust me this is true. I came to Thailand some 6 years ago, or perhaps a bit longer. My wife and I never new anyone here, so a new adventure was starting in our lives, although we had been to many countries in our lifetime at that point. We got of the plane in BKK and I felt something walk straight through me and at that point I new I was home. So for the next 5 or so years I have been back, okay a week with a monk in a cave up a mountain, an attempted murder on my life has strengthened my return to Thailand from the UK and now I am ready to buy the car, build the home and get married in 2008. Okay that was a short version of my life in those years, perhaps a book should be my next plan ??? what do you think Going back to the North East soon Nonmuang, Nongbua Lamphu. Love to hear from anyone with ideas for a home and just to chat about experiences in Thailand. [email protected] or on this site. Thanks Paul

  8. Would loved to have attended the party but back in the Uk at the moment, however I would love any information, website or email address of the new magazine (My Phuket Magazine) as I will be travelling around Thailand taking photos of a variety of aspects and of different areas from the north east all the way down to Phuket, Kathu and Patong. Also have many photos from those areas from the last 6years.

    Thanks

    Paul

  9. Hi, I am interested in keeping in touch with anyone in Thailand with anyone who is interested in Photography. I live in Nongbua Lamphu, Nongmuang and will, in July 2008 be travelling to take photos of all aspects of Thailand. I speak some Thai, have a Thai wife and enjoy all Thai food, especially somtam and sticky rice, gai man kaow etc. I have been asked to open a studio to teach computer and photography with a sculptor (who is a policeman) and an artist, painter in nakglan. Perhaps that is your dream as well, if so perhaps it is worth talking about. I check my post more often at [email protected]. It would be great to set up a network of clubs to see work from all over Thailand, any suggestions. I use to belong to the Brackley photographic club in England .Thanks

  12. On the third floor (assuming you call the ground floor the first floor), at the other end of the mall from Powerbuy, there is a place with a large format printer in the window.

They print on plastic rather than traditional photo paper but it looks great (to my eyes anyway). I have had several A2s and an A1 printed there and they look good framed on the wall. I think the matte finish looks best, but they will show you samples. Colours are very accurate. 400 baht for an A2 if I recall.
