  2. The wording says if you play the lottery online whilist on holiday, from a country that gambleing is illegal, then no payout.

So with that in mind, here in Thailand we have the State lottery twice a month,so is it really illegal here??,and if you were too win a big prize in the UK lottery you could go too court stating that Thailand has it's own Lottery,so it cannot be illegal. :)

  3. Ok Its sortred now. I have to say that NumChai service is superb. they didnt even blink an eye when i said i want to change. they let me choose another 1 and said they would be over in 2 hours to swap it. they turned up and put the 50" back in the box carried it all downstairs and brought the new 40" LCD one up. its much better. much clearer on UBC. so now im a happy chap. problem sorted the 40" one still looks nice and is big enough for this room.

Numchai didnt charge me a penny to swap or any delivery money or anything.

For the DVD player its connected with a HDMI cable, I compared the picture using the old Phono cables.. it really does make a lot of difference. more detail.

Thanks everyone for your comments. the bottom line of this story is dont buy a samsung plasma 50" if you mainly watch UBC. get a 40" LCD

Who or what is Numchai??,where are they based??.

  6. 'Bubble' = bubble and squeak= 'speak'

    Cockney rhyming slang.

I'm from London (west) and I had to Google to work this one out!

Wasn't cocknet rhyming slang 'invented' to avoid the Bow Street Runners (police), and help hide illegal activities around the docks (i.e. stealing)?

Anyway, I'm off up the apple and pears to 'av a Mo Chit... :)

Get it right me old china,it's a Tom -Tit.

From a born and bred Cockney.

  8. Cash-strapped THAI Airways maps strategic plan for profit

BANGKOK: -- Loss-making national flag carrier Thai Airways International (THAI) announced a two-stage strategic plan aimed at enabling the airline to turn around to profit amid the global economic meltdown, according to Pichai Chunhavajira, chair of the committee managing THAI's business and financial rehabilitation plan.

THAI announced in February that it lost Bt21.3 billion (US$592 million) in 2008, the company's first annual loss in 43 years, because of high fuel prices, foreign exchange losses due to the weakened baht, and protests that temporarily shut down Bangkok's two airports from November 25 to December 3 last year.

On Thursday Mr. Pichai told a press conference that under the terms of the urgent rehabilitation plan to be implemented now until next year, THAI will boost its revenues through improved sales and more efficient management of its revenue.

The airline plans to increase its ticket sales via its website channels to 5-8 per cent out of total sales within this year from only 3 per cent now, Mr. Pichai said.

Other measures under the plan include lowering management overhead by 10 per cent from Bt100 billion in 2009 and cutting fees of board meetings by 25 per cent.

Because of the decision to cut expenses, THAI salaries will not be raised and no bonuses will be given, overtime work will be reduced and buying six Airbus A330-300s this year and two more in 2010 will be postponed.

THAI is facing a cash flow problem amounting to Bt35 billion and postponing Bt15 billion in payments will require the airline to borrow only Bt20 billion to boost its liquidity.

The airline believes that with the first rehabilitation plan the company's performance could turn around with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of Bt33 billion, profit after taxes of Bt6-7 billion and debts to equity ratio at 1:1.5 or 1:1 from 3:1 currently.

Under the second strategic plan, new aircraft to be acquired will be reduced to 4 or 5 from 10 now, corporate and personnel development, and restructuring the financial system.

Now there is a good way to claw back the losses, Raise the ticket price :D

The Thai Airways Management are priceless?????, :o

  9. :D Well the title gave me a giggle anyway! :D

Only 35 years late I believe for the British Embassy . . . however I would REALLY like it if they could be arsed to establish an embassy or at least a consulate here so I don't have deal with the retards that work at the Bangkok embassy for everything. Let alone having to travel to the bloody place for visas for my wife. :o

You have got my vote there, agree with you 100%,they are all retards, that do not care or worry about any Brit Expat problem. :D

Come too think of it,it's like it in al The Brit Embassy overseas,Dubai being the worst. :D
