Can anyone refer me to a good tailor in Hat Yai or am I really better off going to Bangkok?
I'm going home for christmas and would like to pick up one or two suits and don't think ill make it up north again especially not for the lenghth of time I would require to get fitted. I really know very little about suits and imagine I'll require a bit of assistence ascertaining what looks good, I suppose I'm looking for a western style suit if that means anything. I've read around the forum a bit but havent found anything regarding Hat Yai taliors.
So comments? Questions? All input is appreciated
edit: Ooh ooh im also looking for a full body thin wet suit, but havent seen anything like that in the malls, where would I go?
HELP!

Thanks again.

Hi folks, I'm passing through Bangkok on my way from Australia to Ireland and I'm hopeing to get some decent cold weather gear. Basicly I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to point in the right direction with regards to finding some good leather shops. I'm speficly going to be looking for a full sized (preferably leather but durable and warm is only real consideration) trench coat (Jacket that goes down to the shins), so if anyone has seen anything like that in their travels please let me know. Im only going to be in BK for a day but I've been told an option may bo to go to a tailor and get it made for me and have them send it on later. Anyone got any advice or experience relating to that (does it cost alot to get something sent to EU/Ireland)?
Any help is appreciated so thanks all.
EDIT : I read that "Narayana Phand is the place to go for leather bargains during the day (opposite World Trade Centre on Ratchadamri Road), or at night, venture down to the Patpong Night Markets along Silom Road." Anyone been there and know what its like / have what im looking for?
Thanks again

It would not be more than 7 days and if they see you are at the 90 day level not sure they will issue.
And this is only in Bangkok? If not what institution/office/etc handles it?

Is it possible to get an extension for a person who just has a 30 day *stamp* in his visa and is not in Bangkok but in Songkhla?
I can't do another border run as I am at my 90 day limit and need to get a visa soon, but it would be really convenient to put it off for 7 days at least.
Thanks.

I've been told the best place to purchase a motorbike is at an auction, but no one seems to have any recent firsthand information on the auctions in Hat-Yai. Is anyone here well informed on this?

If you have reached your limit for temporary 30 day entry visas and go to a Burmese border town where they dont let you go further than th
town, what happens when Thailand denys you reentry? You couldnt stay in their border down because its just a 10 day or so visa, you couldnt go to thailand, and theres no airport or any other means to go elsewhere.
This is an academic question, any takers? Is it plausible that thailand would let you in, or would they just not permit you to leave from there in the first place?

Does anyone know where in Hat Yai I can rent a bike that is at least 150cc, something like a Honda NSR?
