  1. Has anyone seen the list of Erasmus Universities available to choose from?

Probably a list of the worst in the world, that also need Funding.

Has anybody seen the list of students accepted, and their family connections?

    Disgrace!

    Sunisa.

Did you yourself bother to read about it before sharing your negative assumptions?

I just read a bit and it seems you don't really pick a university (there is no such thing as a Erasmus mundys university, except a university in Rotterdam having Erasmus in its name), but a student picks a course (bachelor, master or doctorate) whih is then given by several participating universities, who work together to set up the course. I checked Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and Spain, and most of the top universities in these countries participate in this program.

I have not seen a list of Thai scholarship grantees, so do not want to speculate on how family connections would have an influence. That said, I am sure that there are more upper and middle class Thai families in the list purely because these families tend to put greater emphasis on education.

Yes I did. and you are very wrong in your assumptions. You red a 'bit'? I red it all in Thai. Did you red the cost involved for Europe, as opposite to South America?

You don't want in speculate, but you are sure about upper class. Did Chalerm son pass his placement at Thammassat, his father placed great emphasis on education? No.

Again, what is my negative assumption?

  2. This is a good move but it is like locking the stable door after the horse has run off. The facts are that all the reefs are well and truly dead. Hardly a living coral left around Phuket and the local islands. Anyway cleaning up the garbage is highly commendable and good on those taking part.

  3. About 80% of the world's raw pharmaceutical materials come from China. Each country importing these materials has stringent tests by the Ministry of Health to ensure that the quality is up to standard and there is no biological contamination. It seems in this case something went wrong and smacks of corruption. Don't automatically put the blame on the Chinese supplier before the facts are established. It is also possible that this material was classified for use in veterinary products and passed off by the importer for human consumption. Long term storage also has an adverse effect on the materials.

  4. Hey, why kill a good thing? a good thing that is for the leaches, cronies, the idle job positions

holders with the bombastic titles that this revival will bring to the close circle of people that need to be looked after,

nothing here is done for the country or the consumer,,,

There will always be a market for people with lots of money to stash abroad... just not enough of them to make the scheme economically viable for the Thai taxpayer, unfortunately, who gets to kick the can again to the tune of half a billion Baht. LOS, "Hub of Elite Safe Havens".

  5. Breaking News:

    Thailand Elite Card is abandoned

BANGKOK: -- The loss-making Thailand Elite Card, launched in 2003 to lure wealthy tourists and business people to Thailand, will be scrapped, a government spokesman said. Only 2,570 were members in 2008.
