She's adamant that the lawyer knows his stuff & that the law was changed some 2 months ago, such that married Thais don't have the same rights as their unmarried counterparts in respect of land purchase. Shoukd I tell her to fire her lawyer or could he possibly be correct?

Get a new lawyer fast!!! He's been sleeping for at least 10 years.
So it's an old law then?
I only married my wife a month ago, so the lawyer can probably be forgiven.
Is this thread better off in Real Estate, housing, house and land ownership ?

Just to confuse you, I understood that you can merely get the WP transferred from one employer to another within the 7 day period. No need to leave the country. Leastways that's what I was told last year when I switched jobs. I only found this out after I did a visa run to Cambodia, re-entering with my still valid Non-B.

Fatboy, all these options sound okay to me.
Any sex is better than none at all, IMO.
What about GAY sex? Is that better than no sex?

My dearest was talking to her lawyer today and was casually informed that being the spouse of a foreigner, she was no longer allowed to purchase land, above 1 rai in size. Is that a fact? And what ways around this might there be, other than a swift divorce, which I'm sure she's contemplating.

Hmmm, virtually part of ANY canal in Thailand? :-(

No I haven't come across such a service in Thailand as yet. However it's comforting to note that one outlet offers the following:-
Laser Tooth Whitening in Bangkok, Thailand. Laser tooth whitening is dramatic results in less than one hour without overheating teeth. -

Are you proud to have a Thai gf?
A great girlfriend needs to be sexually compatible with you. For instance, if you’re into S&M and she’s more the 'fluffy lingerie' type, that’s a big problem. The two of you have to be on the same page so to speak or, at least, she has to be willing to wear leather and use a whip from time to time. Of course, this doesn’t imply that she has to know all the right moves straight away; it simply means that you and she have an undeniable attraction toward each other, and are able to communicate your desires verbally (or with physical cues). It is important that you please each other in the bedroom, or on top of the dryer, whatever the case may be. Indeed I'm proud!

^ Ok. Can I then use this income in support of a marriage visa application, where the requirement is to show a Thai income of 40,000 + ?

As a working resident of Thailand. If I were fortunate enought to receive 1,000 USD per month into a bank account abroad & these funds were the result of interest payable on a capital account, and I subsequently wired the amount to a Thai bank, would I need to pay Thai income tax? Do I need to declare these funds in Thailand for taxation purposes?

Kinter, I suggest you contact your nominated bank & request advice directly from them.
I have an offshore Sterling account in Jersey, which was initially opened with funds from my UK bank. It wasn't a requisite but it did make things much easier. Transferring funds to & from a Thai bank (Bangkok Bank) has not proven to be problematic, however I chose a head office branch rather than a smaller sub-office.

Scenario
Westerner married to a Thai woman & living in Thailand. Woman owns business outside of BKK, factory employing a score of native people. Husband has degree etc. & teaching experience in Thailand. Woman applies for a WP for her husband, stating that he's going to teach the factory workers 'English'. Husband doesn't actually do anything other than receive some money each month along with a payslip, taxes get paid on income as per legal requirements.
Question
Is this going to work, i.e. a means for the husband to stay in Thailand & avoid visa runs etc.? Can you envisage any problems?
Regards.
