Lovely to see the concern of the motor bike taxi number 6, must have been on his way to a job !
if you bother to watch to the end of the video the motorcycle taxi rider actually pursues the bus driver to ensure he stops..

regardless of whether the op has a tefl/tesol/celta as a non-native teacher they will still need a valid toeic score dated within the last 2 years to obtain the work permit

Two guys I know used such a service and when they turned up at the local office for the first 90 day report were informed they had to report to the area it was issued over 200 kilometres away.
no problem anymore- they can just use the online 90 day reporting. . .

what would be the point?? if you've not utilized a second language for 10 or so years then your proficiency in that language is obviously going to have suffered.. hence the requirement for re-testing..

As I understand it there is no ATM air-side of immigration. If you pass immigration to get to an ATM you have in fact entered the Kingdom and the only way to remove you is deportation - at least it is not as simple as being refused entry.
Another problem in respect of producing a bank book is that it is only accurate as at the date is was last updated. Even showing a credit card only shows you have a credit card; it does not show whether you are over limit etc.
Demanding to see cash is the simple way out for immigration. Having said that I am sure there is room for some leeway in handling this situation.
but showing an online bank statement for the account the cards are attached too should be enough..

"police have issued a picture as a manhunt begins."
issued it to who?? obviously not to the publisher of this article who prefers to show us the back of the injured woman rather than the picture that might help with his apprehension...

I do not get people who crash their vehicles trying to avoid a small animal.
I do not swerve for anything smaller than a Moose, a Bear, or Horse, Cow, or Buffalo (Bison)
Why wreck your vehicle for this reason?
Geezer
you start with a big animal and then list a number of smaller animals... so what is your actual cut off point size wise??
maybe go with "I would swerve for anything bigger than a..." and then just choose one animal.
also most people are smaller than all of the animals you listed- do you have a policy on vehicle damage in this case?

The video is at least proof there is at least ONE mature thai driver on the roads. (Cam car)
the driver of the cam car was by no means a mature driver.. all over the road.. changing lanes willy-nilly without indicating.. driving too close to the traffic in front and also overtaking people on the left hand side... as someone else already pointed out black pickup was attempting to get out of his way but blocked by a slower moving vehicle..
i am in no way defending the black pickup's drivers actions but please do not suggest any level of maturity from the cam car driver..

Ok, I know that you should not kill animals by intent as a Buddhist but it would have been an accident if the first driver had run it over... I even killed a (small green) snake by bicycle last Saturday!
by braking he avoided killing the snake and proved it's death avoidable; had he not braked and killed the snake it would, therefore, not have been an accident...

What would they do here in Thailand without the availability of photocopiers. As an ex Military Administrator it pains me to see all the needless copying of passports, yellow books etc. Each person has a file, whether physical or computer based, and it should reflect that a passport is still valid until Year 20xx, once the master copy is in place, no further need for 90 day reports or annual extensions to be accompanied by copies which simply repeat already available information. Why does my bank need a copy of my passport, my signature on the copy, when all I need is a statement of account? Plus 200 baht!!
saves the office money on paper... blank sides of these pages are usually used at immigration offices for printing, copying etc.. my current 90 day slip has the details of some previous visitor on the reverse... tm47 appears to have a page of someone's accounts as well...
