Why would a "non-profit" organisation which clearly existed before you were employed not have access to professional accountancy services?

What has caused the panic ?

No panic - just tired of the local, unprofessional accounting office (they just keep the revenue department happy) - we want to reach the next level.... alas professional accounting....

I guess a case of TIT (This is Thailand)....

I'm searching for a professional accounting firm in Chiang Mai too.... if possible: they work on my QuickBook program online.....

I work for a non profit organization upcountry (Sukhothai, Chiang Rai etc) - - I need urgently a professional, reliable accounting firm I can work with. It is probably best to select an accounting firm in Bangkok.... of can you recommend a good firm in Chiang Mai? Please HELP. I have wasted a lot of energy with unqualified accountants....

Who gains by the flooding, and lack of effort to control it's damage? The current Prime Minister's business experience is real estate development. My guess is that the value of riverfront property in Bangkok is in the Billions? As happened in New Orleans USA following Hurricane Katrina, if the authorities do little to control the flooding and it's damage, it's an easy/cheap/free way to pick up vast amounts of very expensive, prime riverfront real estate, ridding said property of it's poor inhabitants. This is the only answer that makes any sense, as to the questions of why SOE has not been declared, and why the US Navy's massive logistics and manpower help were turned down, in my opinion, A Huge land grab. Money talks, the poor walk.

How will the immigration / visa / work-permit law change for members of ASEAN after 2015?

1. why do I need a work-permit? Why must I renew it every one or two years??

How can a foreigner defend himself when he is threatened with planting of drugs on his rented property? A person I know in Phuket lives with this threats. He has reported the case to the police.

This is a serious crime and one Thailand continues to ignore. It is now the 21st century so why is it we still have this situation? Equality is in the eye of the beholder - these guys should be incarcerated for life with no chance of parole. Send the message, this could be your daughter - your sister, your niece. But as the police and high ranking individuals are all on the take - it is too often ignored. Organisations such as SISHA help but in real terms, they lack funding and investigative skills. I would welcome any suggestions to assist and would be active in participation. Please advise as I have access to some well trained people who are totally against this type of abuse and will willingly take the risks (for a pay day of course) but well is their intent to put these people down. Open to suggestions.

One of the many problems are the unregistered immigrant children in Thailand. Burmese immigrants expect that their children, age 12 up – contribute financially to the family. Although the Thai government has established about 50 schools/learning centers for Burmese immigrants in Maesot, THEIR PARENTS (!!!!!!!!!!) often take the kids age 12 up out of school and send them to work. Vultures are around, offering jobs in Bangkok.

For many of these girls it is a one-way trip, without return.

As Jews disappeared during the Nazi regime…. so do immigrants children disappear on a GRANT SCALE!

The horror is: these girls have NO CLUE what is awaiting them.

My question: where can we obtain WARNING MATERIAL in Thai and Burmese? Poster, flyer, reports, DVDs.. any warning material which can be distributed to the Burmese immigrant community. Make it known. Make it a shame to send the daughters to Bangkok. Any information is welcome.

Much of this could have been avoided if there had been a designated protest site - a large field with basic facilities outside downtown Bangkok. That's what the Cambodians just arranged - for future protests in their country. Granted, it's easier said than done, but if the initial protesters had been funneled to a large field somewhere, then things would not have gotten so far out of hand.

Plus, recent reports of freezing accounts of many big businesses and big shot Thais associated with Thaksin and the Reds is BIG NEWS. You can bet there are a lot of big shots close to the Shinawats, who are cussing and shouting and banging furniture against walls.
