  1. Just my opinion: this new form seems to be the "brain child" of one over zealous (rogue) official with too much time on his hands. The fact they are saying it is "not mandatory" suggests to me it is not authorised by Thai law. Take a look at the Thai Immigration web site and no mention of it there.

So no one is obliged to complete the form.

If anyone feels any application might be prejudiced by not filling in the form then rather than have a confrontation, fill in the form and write the letters U.P at the end of it with your signature or initials.

    UP = Under Protest.

Any intrusive questions should have a line crossed thru them with the words "not applicable".

I would never suggest writing any lie on the form, but often people make genuine mistakes when filling in forms.....

  2. 'Not Approved' means you need to go in person. Your application for online reporting was rejected probably because you were a day late in doing it.

It should be submitted within 15 - 7 days before the due date.

Don't include the due date when you count back and don't include the 15th day either.

See below example from the Immigration website.

  3. I am due for my report on Monday 27 April(Pattaya). Today as I write it is the 10th April.

    i) Which is the date I can first make my on line application bearing in mind that between now and the 27th there are 2 weekends and at least 3 other public holidays due to Songkran?

ii) the 7-15 day window is any day or working days?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  4. I posted the following in the Pattaya forum some days back but no replies:

"A Thai friend in mid-20's recently passed the Thai driving test and license just issued,. Looking to rent a car from a reputable place in Pattaya. However some rental companies say the driver must have 1 or 2 years validity on the license.

Can anyone advise a respectable car rental company in Pattaya who would be prepared to rent a car to my Thai friend(with full insurance etc) despite my friend being a new driver?

    Any suggestions gratefully received."

-My friend has now contacted over 10 rental companes, many say they do not rent cars to Thais because the Thais either sell the rental cars or use the vehicles for drug trafficking.A few companies might be prepared to rent to my friend but he needs a credit card which he does not have.

So if anyone one can suggest a reputable rental company it would be appreciated.

Just out of my interest if I were prepared to use my credit card as a guarantor, what precisely would that make be liable for (if anyone knows)?

    Many thanks.

  6. "It wouldn't matter if you had a nobel prize for healthcare, the fact remains that Chiropractic is not based on any provable or testable theory and has NEVER shown any benefits under peer reviewed scrutiny apart from some lower back benefits that are attainable by normal scientific methods"

-I agree entirely with this comment by wilcopops.

And by the way DCVincens. Its quite breath taking that you have been working illegally in Thailand peddling what educated people know as junk science yet you come on this forum to try to justify yourself and insult those who dare to expose you for what you are.

    Unbelievable!

  7. OP: I cannot answer your specific question but a recent request at their reception counter got a quote @12,000 baht for taking out a 1 year membership and around 30,000 baht for life time membership.

Prices many people are not prepared to pay for what is in effect on a par with a pig sty.

Can anyone recommend an alternate gym in the South Pattaya or surrounding area?

    Thank you.

  8. OP: Enjoyed reading your trip report.

As another poster said, seems the crux of where things went wrong for you was the hotel you initially booked into. But of course that booking and that location may well have suited those visitors who come to Pattaya to holiday in what as a city is also known as the world's biggest brothel. For those type of visitors the likes of open sewers and bad breakfasts is the least of their concerns.

Thousands of males come to Pattaya to holiday and to enjoy the sexual freedom which is unavailable to them in their own countries.

  9. The report says:

"Khun Jurarat decided to approach Mr. Harris and ask him if he wanted to purchase any items as he had been looking around the shop for some time. She alleges that Mr. Harris then produced a flick-knife and grabbed the shopkeeper in an inappropriate way."

Well if that is really an accurate account of what happened, then Mr Harris may be quite dangerous.

    But does it make sense?

    Whats his story?

Then again why would Khun Jurarat want to frame him?
