  1. Hi. Me and my girlfriend are heading down to Narathiwat by the end of this weekend to attend a wedding of my friend. We have never been this far south before and i would like to hear from others that have been there recently or are living down there how the safety really is. I have heard a lot of about this place in the news and there seems to be a violent place. What should you be aware of when you down there etc? which areas to avoid? Ive done a lot of research through Google but it just look similar to what the medias are saying about Bangkok under the coup etc, which i know is not that dangerous. any comments are appreciated.

  3. Whenever reading TVF threads there are always the same people posting negative comments, If you dont have anything useful to say why bother reply?

Yes these people thrive on the misery of others. This is what anonymity on the Internet does -- makes people brave enough to say things they'd never say in public or to someone else's face.

If the man was unfairly convicted I think it's great that he's standing up for his rights. That shows character, which most people lack these days, especially on this forum.

agree whit you, Make me angry, that it is always an bad comment in thaivisa. (why? angry old folks whit nothing else to do?

    Go Benny!!!!!!

  6. My boss wants to 'standarise' notebooks and just buy one brand (we don't buy enough to get a bulk deal out of anyone). So I'm wondering what brands of notebook people think are the most reliable, in terms of quality and durability.

My personal experience to date is as follows (please feel free to make smart alec comments about Mac books if you want :o :

    * Acer: Cheap but also low build quality. A lot of things go wrong down with them, particularly as they age. I avoid.

    * IBM Thinkpad: Not so cheap, but the most rugged laptops I've used. We've had a few problems with them but nothing serious.

    * Dell: Not so cheap, but seem to be fairly reliable even in old age. Personally, I hate the cheap 'feel' of them but that's me.

    * Fujitsu: A bit expensive but seem to be reliable (haven't used these as long) but they can't seem to get the cases right (scratch like hel_l).

Others? Quite curious about what people think about Asus and HP.

i will the same as rario.. acer is the best deal on the marked. i gott an acer aspire 4520. bought it for 19 000 bath. upgraded the ram to 2Giga. costed me 800bath extra. i had an acsident when my dog run in to the cable and the computer felt down on the floor. i didnt say annything and delivered it in to acer service senter. 3 days after i had it back. it was the mainboard who was broken. they changed it for free and no questions asked:) realy great support will I say. expect that i havent had anny problems.

  10. OKey... not the answer i wanted... hehe.... everything have to be diffucalt... in beginning of november last year, my 90 days was about to expire... i went to phanom phen and gott a new tourist visa. it was an ekstra stemp said "tourist visa granted at phanom phen for this time only". but i came back to thailand and they gave me, 60 new days, still i only had 2 days left(after the new 90 day roule). i just wondered if there was someone out there who, not work in thailand, who can only make yourist visa... butt still stay more than 3 months and not have to leave for 3 month.

i did it last year in november. butt... now so manny new roules all the time... can it still be done?

Only visa free entry stamps of 30days each are subject to the 90day in 6 month rule. If you go and get a tourist visa, at present there seems to be no restriction on you getting back to back tourist visas except some embassies will not give them.

You can stay 6 consequtive months and more provided you have visas and are not relying on visa free entry stamps.

That's what previous posters have been trying to tell you. Search this forum for neighbouring consulates which are likely to issue them.

ok thanx buddy, i did mean thailands roules was difficalt:) not the buddy tried to help... ok... so how much will a trip to malaysia cost or some1 else... anny sugestion? can pm me if you know a good visa service... tnx for fast replys so far...

  11. I suggest you go to Kuala Lumpur or Penang (Malaysia) and apply for a single entry tourist visa. Forget Cambodia for that. With the 60 day tourist visa you can extend one time for an extra 30 days in Thailand at the immigration office (so there you have your 90 days). Or if you'd rather you can do a visa run then to Cambodia and cross back into Thailand the same day to get another 30 days. Let us know how it goes.
