If I.O. would be satisfied whit that …, showing your mobile screen from bank account or even going online to bank site upfront to them and showing so,... would be most simple way …. but NO I would think
This would be too simple and opening gates for fraud applications by the "no have...funds ones "
You are not wrong David, give me 5 minutes on Photoshop and I will show you a very convincing screenshot that says I have more cash than Jeff Bezos!????

Hello gents, sorry if I was unclear.
My non immigrant O visa and the final 60 day extension to visit my wife and kid expired 27th March.
From then until now I have paid for the extensions that immigration has provided so have actually spent very little time relying on the visa amnesty.
After a visit to immigration on September 26th for a new 60 day extension I received the "under consideration" stamp taking me to 12 October.
Went back on that date but the passports had not been sent back from BKK yet. I returned a week later and my passport was ready, complete with shiny new extension until 30 November.
What's baffling me is the little yellow piece of paper stapled along side the extension stamp. When I asked about it the officer said "you come back here, November busy busy" while pointing at the small yellow interloper. Lovely guy terrible English.
So I keep reading article after article to see if I really do need to return today which would be my fourth visit since September 26th. Do I really need to cart another Amazonian rainforest worth of paper over their today?
Normally I would just do it but the last few days have been a little challenging and for some, as yet unidentified, reason I can barely put one foot in front of the other.
I have included a picture of the relevant passport page.
Thanks guy.

I was browsing the forum to make sure I had all my ducks in a row before my scheduled visit to immigration tomorrow but now I am feeling less confident than I was before I started looking! ????
Would some kind soul please indicate where I can find a list of documents to be submitted in support of a 60 day extension please.
Is a valid Kor Ror 2 required for this round of IO visits?
My personal circumstances are that I currently have the "paid for" extension that expires at the end of November but was told to apply for the next extension by the 31st October (ticket with the date and maybe an appointment number stapled into my passport) as November will be "very busy".
I assume if this extension is granted then it will run until the end of January?
Thank you so much for any help.

ok so I just got back from Udon IO and I am confused!
"No way" I hear you all shout "IO offices always give such clear instructions, you must be a moron!"
I applied for an extension before 26th September, received under consideration stamp and told to return for stamp on the 12th October. Did that and told the visa is not ready yet, come back today, the 19th.
Today I was given "permission to stay" stamp until Nov 30.
But, I also got a yellow ticket with a number 45 on it stapled on the same passport page saying "Next time 30th October."
A very brief set of instructions followed that involved the words "come back Oct 30th, bring paper and November very busy".
So I am assuming they want me to apply for another extension on that date as they are trying to avoid another inundation at the end of November. Not sure though and no mention of what it actually is they want me to apply for. Once again I can only assume it will be a 60 extension at the Udon IO price of 2000 baht but it would be nice to hear from anyone who may have received clearer information.

Congratulations to the powers that be. You are making damn sure your devastated tourist industry will not recover in the foreseeable future.
I for one am right on the edge of saying screw these morons I am not going to endanger my family (daughter with asthma) or myself any more. I will accept the consequences when some form of normality has returned but I refuse to let their pea brained policies put my family at risk!
Maybe some eloquent individual could pen an email outlining our concerns and we can flood the office responsible with it. Probably wouldn't do any good but surely at some point we have to say NO.

Has everybody received their letters?
I applied last Wednesday and I have not received it yet, starting to get a little worried but I don't want to email them again and contribute to an already congested system.

very simple process. i submitted my email on wednesday afternoon via email and got a letter today. they will be proiritising all those applicants that are coming up to 15 days left on their visa as they need it first. my expiration is april 23rd but still got a letter in 2 working days. these are mad times but people just need to calm down and show some patience. this is far from an everyday occurence and ultimately given new covid cases amd deaths everyday i would say a 2 day turnaround is excellent
I also submitted my application Wednesday afternoon, visa expired on Friday 27th. I still have no letter as of Monday morning, seems they must of missed me when sorting out priority. You were very lucky.

We are not in North Korea so the privilege of having choices is a given
Your suggestion that people could have made different choices to avoid complications is laughable.
Each and every person I have communicated with had a plan that would allow them to comply with Thailands immigration laws.
Enter Covid-19, now unless I was some kind of soothsayer or oracle no one could have forseen the issues that would arise in it's wake.
Well laid plans that would enable compliance have been made impossible. It should be noted that compliance with immigration is the only goal. Nobody is asking to be bailed out, they simply want a system in place that allows them to at least have some legality to their stay in Thailand during a global crisis. Their only goal being to legally stay in here.
People are desprate for information that will enable this and nobody is trying to play the system.
People should be applauded for trying to comply in these difficult times and not have snide little remarks suggesting that any complications are self inflicted.

I don't want saving, I just want reasonable options to extend when I can't extend using traditional means. I don't even mind paying for it, and I don't think that's too much to ask when basically every other country has done so.
I had a flight to Vietnam booked, but even that had me spooked, as I would rather not fly at this time. The socially responsible thing to do is stay put if you can, regardless of daft immigration requirements. Not safe to travel between provinces, but safe to travel internationally. How does that work?
Well said that man.
Stay put and deal with the consequences later. Hopefully by doing this we will be alive to deal with the consequences!

And just to reiterate, it contains very little real information other than the overstay fine being suspended from the 27th.
No information on how this will be applied or criteria to qualify.
All the rest is old news like needing the embassy letter.

That doesn't make any sense.
From what I could tell from Google translate they're trying to change things because the amount of people visiting immingation has shot up from 1000 to 5000.
Eliminating overstay fines wouldn't fix that.
Yes, you a right they did mention this. They said they were taken by surprise by how many people visited immigration and they will attempt to provide a better service by opening temporary offices if required. Something like that anyway.
I am doing my best guys, please dont moan at me. This document is confusing (wow, who would of thought it) but we are trying to translate it in the way it is meant.

I hope this isnt the silly solution they came up with... would be just as annoying still. Hopefully it's an automatic no fine/extension until a certain date. Gotta wait and see
I believe it only references overstay fines, the 27th being the date fines will not be charged after.
Letter still needed and visiting immigration offices still required!

It is good news about the overstay fine but much more is needed.
They need to stop charging for a visa extension that is supposedly granted on a humanitarian basis.
Stop using Corvid-19 as a money making exercise or face the consequences to tourist industry when this is all over. Many people have long memories and will remember the disgusting treatment they received in Thailand.

I am British, my non immigrant O based 60 day visa extension expired on Friday. I am now on overstay and waiting for the embassy letter which I applied for on Wednesday. I hope it comes tomorrow.
My own situation aside, Thai immigration's response to the covid-19 pandemic has been truely appalling. They are behaving in a manner that is nothing short of profiteering!
They refuse pretty much everyone and charge 1,900baht for the 7 day get out of town notice. You go back with your letter and they give you 30 days, back dated to the date you first applied. So you just paid 1,900baht for absolutely nothing, it is cheaper to overstay if your letter is due to arrive imminently.
And immigrations stance as of right now is "have letter or you get nothing, conversation over".
I have always defended Thailand when people moan about things here but this behavior is indefensible!

I must sincerely apologise ladies and gentleman, it would seem that the information I was given is not correct.
A 90 day extension will not be introduced tomorrow. My source has jumped the gun on that issue, as have I by posting it on here. I am very sorry for that.
The issue of the assistance letter would appear to be factual though. Basically if you apply for it you will get it no matter what visa you hold and a new one will be required for any further extensions. That may ease the panic for some.
Please try and remember this post when the Thai Visa end of year awards are held. I am very confident that I have a shot at the "knobhead of the year" award.

You also have to get a letter from the Amphore office that is something to do with your marriage certificate. Possibly the Amphore office confirming you are still married.
Don't worry if this sounds vague, they will know what it is you need in the Amphore.
It is valid for 4 days so you dont have to do it on the same day as immigration if you dont want to.
Paperwork required:
Marriage certificate
Your passport
Wifes ID
Wifes blue book
The service is free.

Currently this is just hearsay, don't be too disappointed if it doesn't become reality ????
You are of course correct and it is entirely possible I have been misinformed. Although due to the circumstances in which I was told I am quietly confident that the information is correct. I hope it is anyway or I am going to look like a right tit!!! ????????????

They also said if we can keep getting new letters from the embassy we can keep extending.
Yes it was mentioned that a new letter will be required for each new extension should the situation continue.

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT
I have just been told that immigration have just had a meeting and from tomorrow everyone with a letter will be given 90 days.
I do not know if they will still charge but I would assume they will.
I was also told that this damn letter will be issued to people no matter what type of visa you hold.
I hope this is announced officially in the next couple of hours as it would certainly ease a few people's stress levels.
Oh, how long is the British embassy taking to supply the letter please.

Thank you MrBiker and BigJ, most grateful.????
And just to backup what has already been posted, please don't go to immigration expecting to get an extension based on Clause 3 of the police directive. It is as if that does not exist so have the letter or get refused.
-
Sorry to be dumb but can you guys who have successfully obtained the 30 day extension just clarify what paperwork you had other than the mythical LETTER!
Be grateful if you could as I only have one shot left at this, failure and the overstay meter begins clicking.

I have just had a conversation with a policeman of a reasonably high rank. He does not believe immigration offices will be closed on the 26th!!!!
My wife had to kick me under the table as my manner was becoming a little agitated but I was trying to ask him how they can tell everyone to stay at home but are forcing hundreds of tourists and expats to congregate in small immigration offices?
He had no answer.
We are all doomed I tell ya, all doomed!

So that's pretty much screwed a large group of Brits with Non O's about to expire.
Myself included.

Government liberalises sale and possession of category II narcotics

I wonder if this means that people with chronic ailments will now have access to the appropriate medication?
It is barbaric that people with
debilitating pain are offered the woefully inadequate Tramadol and nothing more.
