  1. Thank you for all the advice received. Yes its my intention to apply for the Thai Citizenship but

I read on this forum that I would need to have 3 continuous years of Non O visa then I can

apply for citizenship, seems like a long time to not be able to work....

I dont understand how it would work if say I applied for a work permit so I can work for

my husband then how can I apply for citizenship when I'm on the work permit visa? Any thoughts?

  2. I'm on a Non Immigrant Visa for one year and married to my Thai husband.

He is about to open a business and wants me to oversee the finance part of

the business. The business will have an office and a few sales staff. As I am

not getting paid and I am just assiting him, will I need a work permit?

I just want to see if anyone has had any personal experience with this? My husband

will be checking with a lawyer about this next week..

  3. And being to the toilet, NOT washing their hands, back on the job... but the ready to eat cut fruit in the larger Supermarkets are usually fruits which are close to the "expiry date"... so if the fruit is slight bit "overripe" - "fermenting" this, especially in the case of watermelon, could cause nausea and the like....ice cold water, ice cream, beer on top... would do the rest...

Yes you are right... I bought the watermelon late at night and it was discounted I guess to get rid of it...I had a slice and a half of the tray of watermelon only,

thout it tasted a bit sour and threw the rest away... I cant imagine what would happen to me it I ate the whole thing!

  4. I have gotten sick eaten watermelon, I used to quite like them and now can't eat the stuff.

I bought them already cut up at Tops. An hour after eating it I was nauseous and threw up

everything that was in my stomach and was delirious the next day, did not eat anything for next

    24 hours not even water.

I think it just depends on luck which ones you buy but I will

never buy it again as the memory of what happened still haunts me.

  5. Yes, I have become incredibly lazy that it has become quite shameful... my days consist of going to Thai school every

morning for 3 hours and I still struggle to do even that! I look forward to the weekend every day... :o

  6. Yes have had this happen to me! Came to Bangkok for a holiday 5 years ago and accidently left my wallet in a trolley at Tesco Lotus...

Of course when I went back 10 mins later to find it, it was gone so had to cancel all my credit cards. After arriving back to my home

country my wallet containing all my credit cards and drivers license minus money was air mailed to the addres of my travel agent as

I had kept their business card. A very thoughtful thief indeed. :o

  7. I want to watch the soaps only because to learn Thai but it really frustrates me when the woman starts

screaming and acting hysterical, I wouldnt mind it if they did it one or twice in the episose but it appears

that it occurs every 5-10 mins that it is very jarring to the ears... I really can't bear it... I don't understand

why people like to watch people screaming all the time... My thoughts are that it is to cover up the lack of storyline and bad acting...

  8. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy powdered Gatorade. I can only find small bottles of them and I usually finish this

in one gulp. I've looked in all the higher end supermarkets but are unable to find. I've tried searching on the net to get it shipped

to Bangkok but it seems like too much hassle...

  9. Does anyone know where can i buy eggs where the chickens were fed by grains and which is hormone free? I have not eaten eggs for over a month now as I do

not know where I can find these. Back home in Australia I always bought "Vegetarian Eggs", therefore eggs that have been produced by chickens on a vegetarian diet

    and free from hormones.

  10. Yes I've noticed this after moving to BKK and there is hotwater in bathrooms except for the kitchen... Therefore my dishes and cutlery has a slight greasy feel to it...Noticeable only by me

as back home i exclusively use hot water only to wash the dishes.. Hot water is required to kill any bacteria and germs lingering...

  11. So true, its my sincere belief that if you look after your body then your body will look after you... I always try to make a concious effort to eat plenty of fruits and veggies and eat a variety of them.

I've also taken up Bikram Yoga and founder of this type of yoga believes if you do his yoga regularly it will cure all diseseas and any existing illness you have over time... I have never taken any form

of medicine besides panadol and have witnessed collegues taking medicine to cure their colds and flus are the ones that take the longest to overcome their illness... I was quite lucky in not catching anything from even though i worked in close proximity to them...
