  1. Then it would be the 15th oct i could land if i entered on the 14th of april i think yes!

JD i have not got the time to apply for a visa if i depart on the 14th october due to a number of reasons thats why i have to get this correct, what would be the case with immagration anyway if they did not understand the regulations,it is either the 15th or the 18th my Daughters birthday is the 18th,so i want to be there earlier really, cheers again chaps. :o

14th October is the first possible entry date; given that your six months are complete starting from your first entry on 14th April.

Other posters earlier stated the day after was the first re-entry date :D

  2. yes it would change, the count starts on the day you enter with a visa exempt entry and the extra 3 days would mean an extra 3 days out of the country.

even if you don't do a non-O a tourist visa would certainly be sensible

So the day i can land, would now be on the 18th oct??

No, it's 14th October, overstay is paid and you have >6 months since you first entry on 14th April.

This is all assuming that the immigration officer you chance upon understands these regulations (not always the case).

  3. I arrived in Thailand on the 13th April and departed on the 12th of July after doing 2, 30 day visa runs,my Question is what day can i land in BKK on a 30 day visa on arrival again! would it be the 10th or 11th of October? :o

    Many thanks.

    Just checked my passport :D

I arrived in Thailand on 14th april stamped until the 13th may (did a run 12th may) stamped until 10th june did a run on the 10th june stamped until 9th july

I THEN DEPARTED THAILAND ON THE 12TH JULY PAYING FOR 3 DAY OVERSTAY.would this change the date i could arrive in thailand as i arrived a day later and had 3 day overstay, sorry to be rehashing this again but i want to book the flight and don"t want any confusion at the airport, could any member give me exact info on this, many thanks.

  4. It starts on your first entry. You can come and go as many times as you want until you reach the ninty day point.

If you reach the 90 point you have to wait to come back until 6 months from that first entry is past.

    In your case Oct. 14

You say you normally cone on a non-o. On what basis do you get it. Next time try get a multiple entry that is good for a year. That way you can come and go as many times as you want for up to 90 days.

I have a daughter Joe and normally get the non o,and do the 15 months on it! but only going for a month so will save applying for my non o til next time.

Thanks for the clarification i think i have got it now :o

  5. Poipet is scam city. The wrong date was probably an accident, but ever being the opportunists they saw a chance to pump you for some money. Only solution is like others have said, check the stamp before walking away.

The stamp scam by the border police at Poipet is the departure side"s biggest and best money earner and has been going on for at least five years to my personal knowledge :o it happens every day to many people! you did well to get away with 300 bt,allways check your stamps right in front of them at the kiosks....because they are past masters at it.

    aussiestyle....

"The other moral is to always carry white-out, a date stamp and ink pad with you next time" :D

Have actually used tippex and a date stamp about 4 years ago and it got me back in los no probs, the thing is the thai immagration are so used to seeing it in the passports it is the norm.....i don"t have problems there any more.Just dont take any shit and normally the Khymers will leave you alone.

  6. Just tried the colour test and yes i could only see the number 25....but as you say there are ways around it,i hope!

Thank you Dave & Crossy for putting me right,i will get the IDP as for the fiver it is worth it and then apply for my TDL which should be fun....i will just nod excitedly when they show me the circles!!

Is it a little girl but ?? hard to tell at that age sometimes...I presume the hat might mean girl ?

The sunset nice, leaning to the left though.

  8. Thank you,as you can tell i have only just started out really!

  9. 5,472 BAHT for the passport....

And i can register my daughters birth for 10,872 baht....or i don"t need to register my daughters birth and can still get a passport seems odd!

what is the benefit of registering the birth at the embassy then just this....

The birth of British citizens in Thailand can be registered at the British embassy in Bangkok, from where a British passport can also be obtained. There is no requirement to register the birth at the embassy, but to do so has its advantages as a British-style birth certificate will be issued which can help prevent any confusion in the UK later in life. Should the decision be made not to register the birth,a British passport can still be applied for.NB: Registering a birth at the British embassy, and registering at the Home Office as a British citizen are two different processes and are not related.

Many thanks again for your advice, cheers mate.

  10. Arnie,

Have a read through the pinned topic:-

    Scouse.

    :o ??

Just unsure on the fee side of it!(they do not make it clear) have mailed the embassy about the fees, even for births prior to july 2006, £400++ seems unfair.

As i understand i can.....Because of a change in the law, those born abroad to at least one British parent on or after 1 July 2006 will, in most cases, be British by automatic acquisition and they may immediately apply for a passport and, if they so wish, have their birth registered with the embassy. However, those born before this date of an unmarried British father will not have a claim to automatic acquisition and will still have to apply to the Secretary of State for registration as a British citizen.WHAT WILL THE COST BE FOR ME??
