well drink a few small one but there 50% alcohol and 50% in most bars so better get in supermarket,but i was the same when living i thailand bkk and pattaya drinking for 3 or 4 days and nights mabey 2 to 4 hours sleep every 2nd day but its not worth it i was getting sick into a plastic bag and eating atamel and junk candy,get out of pattaya and go country for a few weeks where there is no bars get a few bottles put them in the fridge in hotel and its in your head you have beer there mabey you will be like i was,i just had a few beers and some nights you wont drink try it dry out the 1st 2 nights is the hardest then your away from mad pattaya but if your wife or gf is thai you will need to go some where just to have a chat in real english best of luck i just having a beer here in ireland i need a few 1 week no drink. ,

Oh, thank you. This is a spirited forum! One other idea we have is to direct him to a particular Temple or Monk in Chiang Mai. He didn't engage in the rite of passage of living at a Temple when younger, and I know many turn to monks for the guidance professionals provide in the West. Are your wives, friends, or significant others aware of such a Temple or Monk there? We would go to Chiang Mai to explore all this personally but I'm currently in a contract in Afghanistan. I think cricket would certainly help but as cricket in Thailand is still sadly in its infancy, you can take it as a metaphor for any similar positive non-criminal activity where he can learn valuable like skills among nice people (and ideally eat cucumber sandwiches) and, of course, have fun (after a few years in prison I assume he is rather bored).
