  1. Thanks ubonjoe!

I found info about a maximum of 90 days cumulative visa exempt in a 6 month period on the London Thai embassy but no such info on the Thai government immigration website!

I hope also to do overland trips into Laos and Cambodia - I realise these only yield 15 days at a time but apart from that can you see any issues notching up a few more visa exempts at land borders too?

  2. Hi and sorry for this basic question - from what I've read, it should be straightforward but I'm panicking a bit as things have changes so much since my last visit.....my plan is:

    - I already have a London to Bangkok return flight where the total duration is 46 days

    - I will have a Bangkok to Singapore (or somewhere outside Thailand) return flight booked for the end of the first 30 days

    By my reckoning:

    - when I arrive at Suwannaphum the first time, I will have a proof of 10K + proof of leaving the KIngdom (ie Singapore flight) within 30 days

    - when I arrive at Suwannaphum the second time, I will have a proof of 10K + proof of leaving the KIngdom (ie UK flight) within 30 days

Is it likely to be this straightforward given I have a bunch of visa exempt, single and double entry visa in my passport already, the most recent of which is 2012?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

  3. I currently have enough visa exempt days to take me up to the day of my flight back to my home country (about 19 days time). I want to join a friend on his visa run to Cambodia which will result in me getting insufficient days (14 days, right?) when I make the overland trip back. That's kind of ok as I am keen on a quick trip to Laos anyways. However, I won't have any proof of onward travel during the 14 days visa free period I hope to be granted when crossing the border, which I hear is one of the things they may ask for.

Should I linger in Cambodia a few more days, fly back or do u reckon it will just be fine at the border if I smile nicely and show them that I have a ticket back home?

    Thanks!

  4. Hi,

I have return flights booked LONDON-THAILAND that are 3 months apart. I am planning to travel with no visa and get visa exempt entries.

I was planning to book a return flight BKK to YANGON that would see me exit Thailand before the first visa exempt entry expires. Would I need to purchase a second return air ticket that proves I intend to leave Thailand before the second visa exempt period expires to make sure my airline will fly me to Thailand in the first place?

I would rather not plan the second trip until I arrive in Thailand but have always travelled on a non-imm visa which has made planning unnecessary - can anyone advise?

    Thanks!

  5. Hi,

I've been out of Thailand for a while and when I was last there they had changed things so when arriving overland from say Laos, I could only get 2 weeks visa on a arrival and when arriving by air you could get 4. Is that still the case?

Am planning to visit for 3 months and was hoping to avoid buying a visa and just do more trips in Cambodia/Laos but every 2 weeks is maybe too much...

    Thanks!!

  6. Hi - i was looking for long term insurance in 2006 and settled on DUINSURE (through lack of choice more than anything). I had reason to make a claim and it was in the end settled. It was a stressful process but not their fault on reflection and I imagine the same would have happened with any insurance company. Essentially they required access to my medical history to determine that the condition was something that arose whilst travelling rather than a medical tourism style scam. My GP refused to cooperate until I used the data protection act to get him to release my medical notes and DUINSURE weren't going to budge until they saw them. This was a difficult thing to organise whilst travelling! Once they saw my notes they paid all the medical expenses and lost travel tickets/hotels etc that resulted from me having an operation rather than travelling. I will use them again....

  7. I have screwed up my flights a little - need to leave Thailand 29 Sept and have flight booked 30 Sept. Given the cost of changing these, whats the likely consequence of me pitching up at the airport, a day late? Is it simply a 500B fine or could it be worse......I am at the beginning of a non-immig multi entry visa so don't want to go losing it or some such.....

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Hi,

I would like to go to Yi Peng this year - does anyone know the exact date? I understand its sometime a week before Loy Krathong....

I am not really familiar with Chiang Mai - how easy would it be to get there without my own transport - taxi/tuk tuk is ok - any practical advice would be appreciated!!!!

    Thanks in advance,

    FD

  9. Hi,

I am a UK citizen in UK and was going to apply for a triple entry tourist visa for 9-12 months of travel around SE Asia and mainly basing myself in Thailand.

The person I spoke to at Hull convinced me to get a Non Imm O visa as it was not much more and had multiple entries.

I now have said visa but can't find much info on what I need to do every 3 months - do I just need to leave and come back at will or do i need to make applications at neighboring consulates/report 90 days/prove sufficient income?

Any answers or links to them would be much appreciated :o

    Cheers!

  10. Hi Neddy,

I am an English guy based in Bangkok and would be happy to help out.

If your interested, please send me a message indicating your preference between MAC/PC, what software you currently use (like word, photoshop etc) and what web experience (if any) you have so I can get an idea where your at.

    Cheers,

    Steve
