There is no rational comparison between those two situations. Talk about sensationalism!
Ummm yes that was the point of it............Whoosh
-
Don't be upset, Flying. Your POV owns this issue. Nothing will be done. I mean absolutely nothing. See you next time there is another predictable gun massacre in the USA; it will come before long like clockwork.
Yeah more sensationalism ..........Like me saying see you next time someone dies of AIDs
except I am not silly enough to say such a sensationalized falsehood
-
Yes, the IS about gun control and why it isn't possible. Like I said: the U.S. has become dysfunctional.
Sensationalism
The US has over 300 million citizens
Sensationalize a nut job & call 300 million dysfunctional?
Your idea of Gun Control is like demanding AID's control
The genie is out of the bottle
You may punish people for committing a crime with a gun, a knife, a barrel of fertilizer..take your pick
Ban each one & then the next & the next & the next
Because no matter what you *think*....You cannot remove every device from the face of the earth or the US in this case.
You CAN enforce laws against nut jobs though.
You CAN kill them & let those who may follow know what their punishment will be for such acts.

Revolver is not semi-auto. Semi auto loads the next round and cocks the hammer, revolver does not. Man does.
Bit off topic & not really important but.......Look up double action revolvers it will fit your description
Double action means the trigger performs two actions....cocking/loading ( in the case of a revolver) & firing
Yes trigger pull is heavier as you are pulling through but still....one shot per pull of the trigger
Not important except as i pointed out in my initial post about banning all semi autos
Is this as fast as any semi auto?......Yes

That is very cynical indeed. You know perfectly well if Obama tried to raise gun control as an issue, he would kill his chance at reelection. Sure he is free ... to commit political suicide. He has decided to say thanks but not thanks and I don't blame him.Again I know nothing about guns and I don't want to know anything about guns. However, it's clear something is rotten in a country where politicians can't even have a serious discussion about measures that could be taken to reduce gun related crimes without risking their entire careers.
No they are free to do that & the NRA has always said....Commit a felony with a gun....Lock them up & throw away the key.
It is the justice system that is broken.
Again it is not about GUN CONTROL
There are laws in place for legal gun owners to aquire
What is needed is stricter laws to prosecute without hesitation to the fullest extent of the law.
Those who USE a firearm to kill unlawfully.
In fact pass a law that states when a cold blooded killer who uses a gun is caught red handed without a doubt that he is guilty...As In This Case............
KILL Him ASAP period
Now THAT is gun control...Not piling on more laws on lawful owners & yet still not show unlawful users what the consequences are for unlawful use of a firearm

The man who did this needs no trial period.
It is a waste of taxpayers money & will only afford him some sick/slick plea of insanity.
Yet no sane person kills.....So all cold blooded murderers are insane

A revolver is not semi-auto. It requires man to do the next shot. They can determine whether automatic or semi-automatic weapons are permitted.
Any gun that fires one bullet at a time is semi auto
If you ban semi auto you need to ban everything even western six shooters
Technically your describing single action vs double action
All guns require a man to pull a trigger
But as an aside a six shooter can be shot as fast as anything available.
Just watch Bob Munden on you tube

As I said before I have many friends with AKs, ARs, M4s and etc. Most of them are fully auto and I have shot one of the AKs several times.
Yep, I have a lot of eccentric friends. I don't discriminate.
I doubt criminals and drug dealers care much about registering their automatic weapons so I am not surprised that criminals are using unregistered automatic weapons. They don't want the guns traced back to them . . .
Sorry but your full of it.
Your pal with the AK may have illegally modified it but it was not sold that way...period
I have shot competitively all my life & in many States at many levels.
Full auto are not common as you say.
Full auto cannot even be bought they may be transferred but only after a high fee &
much more thorough background check
IF your State allows it at all.

Up to 20 kg. you can send a postparcel airmail or surface mail, more then that minimum a cubic meter up to a container, every forwarding, packing agent can help you with that.
I think that you better check very well, about foodstuf to the US
Thanks
That is basically what I thought as far as the smaller trial package no problem.
Yes on food stuff the FDA site has been helpful
Dried fruit should not pose a problem.
But of course packaging has to state certain info.
Thanks I guess I will check with an agent as to prices/weights on
larger amounts

Your question is so broad that it is impossible to summarize. Unless, that is, you want the answer to be the length of a book.
Please specify your question. Ideas are:
- How to register a Thai company with Thai customs.
- Modes of transport from Thailand to USA.
- Import regulations for certain goods to USA (may be out of the scope of this forum)
- Other specific questions. I think you know the answers to the above already, otherwise you wouldn't be playing with the idea.
Yes sorry for the broad question
At this time not looking to register a company but as I said a trial of a few goods.
Basically my sister back in the USA would like some sample products. Thinking that if they
are acceptable to her to sell there then she would want to do something in larger quantities.
But for now just sample products
Some of the things she is interested in are
ladies bags...Not designer types but more along the lines of hill tribe smaller sling/shoulder bags.
dried fruits...mango, salted plums/lemons etc
Other small goods like house slippers etc.
So to that end just a smaller box for now maybe 20 lbs tops.
But with a view to future sales if she should decide to go forward
the shipping costs on larger quantities have to be estimated before hand
Also rules/paper work etc.
Again sorry for the broad question.

Looking for info on shipping items from Thailand to USA
Various methods/costs vs weight/times/ legal forms etc.
I am sure this has been asked but my searches are turning up
poor info.
Can anyone summarize or point me to the info?
Initially it would be just some trial goods so not large quantities...just a mixed box of sample products.
Also as an aside...One item could be dried fruit which I imagine may be a bit more involved?
Any info/help much appreciated

Thanks flying.
As for the concrete, I was originally looking at polished concrete for the floors, as you know, you can also put acid etc on and it colours the concrete and looks great. The difficulty was finding someone in the area with the correct machines and knowledge.
Maybe another time for floors but as for furniture, my imagination is well and truly opened up. The kitchen counters and the dining table will be tiled, I've seen some pretty good styles for tiles already, so I'll get them from Pattaya and take them up with me. I will hopefully also finish the "floating" bed when I get back as well.
Yes folks are getting very creative with concrete
Like you say etched/colored etc.
They also do stamped now....Create shapes with a stamp while not quite dry.
I also some one guy use a tight line to snap lines into the setting concrete + powder dye
It did end up looking a lot like reddish brick floors

Looking good Mr B !
The concrete counters look pretty cool as does the dining table.
You know in the US they are starting to do concrete counters & they turn out quite nice
Done with hardeners they can be buffed to a high gloss.
The living area looks much bigger than the original plan suggested ( as always )
Ah glad you sorted the grout!
Congrats

semi sorted.....
I have found that a app called Color Note
Works nice for notes & has adjustable font size so Thai Script looks ok
For the phone Font Manager works well.
-
I would like to see it & hope you post it....if not please PM me the address
Thanks

Is there any app to make fonts bigger or stretchable for Android based phones?
I have the Samsung Galaxy Cooper
It is not a problem making notes in English but now I try to
do notes in Thai to help speed learning & find the Thai fonts tough to read
at normal size in my memo app ( which also does not have font sizing )
I did find one app called Font Manager & it helps a little but only in messaging
Anything else available that would help Thai script fonts in memo type apps
appear larger?
Thanks

Hey , I'm still on 3.5.17 !
From 3.6 , I had bugs , and I don't like the tabs placement in the newer versions.
Sure it crashes sometimes , but it always has to do something with flash on some sites.
I read that this hasn't changed much , even in v14 with new flash plug inn.
Yeah if the freezing keeps up I will probably revert
On that tabs deal I also got use to tabs on bottom
But in view -> Toolbars you can un-check tabs on top & have them on the bottom

jeez I feel so dated on 3.6.28
So what all is new/improved?
Thanks
not much I guess...I feel firefox is getting worse only. More and more I use Chrome.
I have been on FF for so long & it has always been fine.
Now that I am on the new release I do remember at one time upgrading to 10.xx & then going back.
The reason was it had a few lockups per day.
The one where your cursor goes to a blue revolving circle & the browser is frozen for about 30 seconds.
Now on this 14.1 & I see it too has that problem. Hmmm might go back to my old release.
In regards to Google chrome....I have not used it but before we moved our daughter had it.
At our home we would have 3 laptops/tablets going on the wifi at once....daughter,wife & myself
Daughter on chrome, wife on Ipad, myself on FF
Whenever my daughter would log on the network would go to crap speed wise for my wife & I.....
We finally realized it was always when daughter opened Chrome.
So we experimented by having her open IE instead etc & the network never slowed down.
Any of you folks on chrome share your network with family members ever see this?

It is quite good for vocabulary building.
What is nice is to put two lessons on a cd
so 15 cd's in all or if your car takes a USB stick better yet as
you can put them all on it.
Then listen while driving it is interactive & leaves space for you to answer.
All in all worth the the effort....
In the end though I would suggest getting to reading & writing ASAP
It will have the biggest effect on your learning.
