Hi Everyone, not sure if I have the right forum

 I have a friend, who's sister in Law has walked out & left them to look after her son, who is retarded & Autistic.

 They have tried their best to cope, but it's getting to the stage where they dare not sleep, he needs specialist care, 24 hrs

  My question is, does anyone know of a home he could be put into, which will provide specialist care.

  They live in Khorat, but I'm sure they would be prepared to travel for the right place

We have had an enquiry, from someone we know, who wants to promote our business, by Advertising & selling on the internet.

They will get paid on commission on sales, but they have not got a Work Permit.

 They will be basically self employed, so who pays for the Work Permit?

Also how much is a Work Permit?

 How do they get one?

Hi, I'm just about to make a four poster bed, I have the wood, Teak, & I've just ordered the posts, but I can't find the carvings I want.

I will make the swan/ goose neck moulding, but the carving I need sits in  the middle of the swan neck moulding on the head & foot board

 & is fan/shell shaped.

  I have attached a picture of a bed with the similar carving at the centre.

  Any idea where I can buy in Thailand, online if Poss.

  I will be in Chang Mia on a bike tour Sat 22nd Dec, is there anywhere up there I can find.

Hi Sheryl, I started to use that last week. I'm using the cream the doctor gave me twice a day, & then putting on loads of vasoline. I keep the gloves on nearly all the time now, & it seems to be working, only time will tell

  I forgot to mention, that it is contact dermatitis. I have been wearing gloves most of the time over the last couple of months & I have been taking  Antihistamines for the itching.

Where can I buy emollients in Thailand? I've asked at the doctors & the Pharmacy, but they both say not have in Thailand.

Hi, I've suffered from dermatitis on my hands for many years, & most of the time I've been able to keep it under control, but for some reason, the last 6 mths have been bad.

 I have been seeing the skin doctor in Buriram & no matter how bad my hands are, he gives me the same ointment each time. At first it cleared up, then came back worse

 We have a furniture factory, & even though I don't do any work, there is always dust from the particle  boards & MDF. which until coming to Thailand, I've never encountered  before.

  Is there anything anyone can recommend? I've tried Betnovate, cream & ointment, I ordered some Aqueous Cream & E 45 cream from the UK, hoping they would help, but my hands got worse. 

  I was in hospital once for it in England, & I used to have to wear gloves at night with some foul smelling cream, & that cleared it for a long time, but I can't remember the name of it.

  Any idea's would be gratefully received. Thank

Hi, I would like to buy 2 Industrial woodworking machines from China.

One is a sliding panel saw, big enough to take 8x4 sheets.

The other is a 4 line multi head boring machine.

Can anyone tell me if there is any duty to be paid on these or do they come under the Free Trade Agreement.

I have sourced the same machines here in Thailand, they come from the same factory in China. Thailand price is 700,000ThB

& China price is 300,000ThB, not a lot of difference.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself very well, when is said about not wanting pillars, what I meant was, I didn't want to see the pillars, that is why I asked about double block or plasterboard to hide the pillars, sorry. I did think of not useing pillars at one time, but it's going to be hard enough as it is without confuseing the builders any more than I have to.

The house is not for MiL & yes I do live in the city & belive it or not Buriram is a good place to live, it 's got everything I need.

I'm trying to keep the cost below 1mil & judgeing by all your coments I should not have a problem.

I would like to thank everyone of you for all your coments. The land is the only thing we have at the moment, & before starting on anything, I want to get has much information has I can about everything. The plot of land is only small, 20mtr x 16mtrs, but I want to try to get a 3 bed 1 storey house on it if I can. I won't be going for anything fancy, but I will be putting a European Kitchen in, & a decent bathroom, but cheeryble I'm sure they won't cost me to much. As CharlieH says, I know i'm going to have a lot of pain with all the problem, that is why i'm asking now before I start on anything. The stage payment plan is sound advice & seems to be the way to go. There's a lot of variation in price, so I will take the average & go from there

Rgs200uk, no, at the moment I haven't any of those, I have found a shop in the centre of Buriram which designs houses for around 20,000baht with no fees to pay if the planing permission is refused, I have only inquired there so I don't know yet how good that price is, & as yet I haven't looked at any finished houses they have designed, but I will look & also ask around to find out about other designers in the area

One thing I don't want in the house are them dam pillars, other than building double brick, is there any way of avoiding themI. I was also thinking of just doing the shell in brick & then useing the U shaped aluminum & plaster board to do the individual rooms, but someone sugested I may have trouble with termites, what do you think? & would it be any cheaper taking into acount it would have to be plastered.

Thats all I can think of right now, but i'm sure i'm going to have a lot more to ask before I start, let alone finish, but I will be going slowly to try & avoid any problems.

Can anyone tell me the average cost of building, per mtr, a one storey house in Buriram area?

Also in your considered opinion, which is the best way to go about it, ie, do I find a building company to give me a quote on the job, or do I find someone to give a daily rate, & then find someone experianced, & who speaks good English to oversee the project giveng him a bonus if the job is finished on time? everyone i've asked all have different idea's

Thanks everyone for your coments, good or bad. I was originaly going to build useing a metal frame, & then on the outside use Shera Board, which is a cement composit board. On the inside I said about useing stud partions, I would have either used Shera again for the frame,[ studs] they make something similar to a 2x4 in the same material, or the u shaped aluminum, then I was going to cover them with plasterboard, & then have it plastered, nowhere would I have used wood. A lot more people are useing plasterboard now then 10 yrs ago, but mainly on the ceilings, I never gave it a thought about termites eating the paper.

I have spoken to the local bank, & after a lot of confusion, they have told me that, yes they will lend money on a house useing steel frame & Shera board clading, but they won't lend the same percentage as they would if the house was built of bricks & morter. So if I was to build useing Shera board or anything else for that matter, which was not bricks/blocks & morter, it would make it harder to sell, if I was to sell, because the person buying would have to find extra cash for the deposit.

I hope all that makes sense, I'm not the best when it comes to explaining things.
