  1. OK, to put it in place. Whenever I go to BKK I cut my hair there.

I am not that crazy nor that handsome to care "2 hours drive" much.

    To be specific.

Right handed hairdressers cut the right side good but on the left side they struggle with putting their hands in the correct position and therefore cut bad.

Left handed hairdressers just do it opposite.

This is due to the fact that they stand behind you when cutting and cannot change their cutting hand. The left and the right side are not the same side.

Check when you go next time and look how they hold the comb and the scissors. :-)

The next problem is that hair needs time to grow and when finally they are ready for a cut the hairdresser that did it well sure isn't working in that shop no longer.

Now having made my rather small problem a matter of worldwide or even universal importance, I better shut up.

While still hoping for an address I keep on sitting here and feed my dogs.

    Cheers

  2. Does anybody know of a decent hairdresser in this area.

A hairdresser who can cut fine farang hair, not short like Thai temple school style, same length and form to the left and the right. Just a decent haircut......

I am bored going to BKK for this.

    Thanks for the help.

Tried many in the last 3 years but soon will make a billiard ball.

  3. Sorry to read this.

Seems they can do what ever they feel like.

Just going through renewal myself. Every year the guy asks for more documents. Seems they get a quota like -papers must be at least 1 cm high and anyway we are Thai and they are only Farang.

Seems to me, that you are right about the money either or but unfortunately I can't give you any helpful advice.

Just wish you good luck and hope you can sort it out.

    Cheers

  4. from my experience a surge protection is mandatory.

I have lost a router and a motherboard due to power spikes. And the UPS too on another occasion.

    UPS? Nice to have.

But watch out and read the specs.

I bought mine 3 years ago. Syndome for 4'700 Baht and didn't pay attention. It had no surge protection and blew up. Repair cost 1'800 Baht. Not to talk about its batteries that were almost flat after 2 years and replacing them would have been another 1'300 Baht. Already within guarantee the batteries had to be replaced.

And keep in mind SERVICE is not a strong point here.

  5. another simplistic remark:

    Yellow = Elites ... Red = Peasents

the clash of interests seems obvious.

I favour an election. An election that most probably will give a win for the majority of people (reds).

This outcome would be ok for me as long as the paying mastermind T. cannot profit from it.

Therefore do as the Daleks say. Eliminate Mister T. beforehand.

Cheap and efficient way of having him out of the game. :)

But any which way Thailand goes. This country, it's people, must learn what democracy means.

one thing is: Poor people, who look for democracy, should not accept money for their votes. If they don't, rich people cannot buy their votes.

    Infant thinking I know.

  6. My 10p of quick fixes:

60 Day Entry free tourist visa regardless of how you enter the country.

Ability to renew a tourist visa for 30/60 days (for a fee of 2000/4000 baht - the cost of an average visa run) without leaving the country ...

Devaluation of the baht so that the exchange rate against GBP gets back to 65-70 (and similar vs other currencies). This would stimulate tourism and exports.

A positive PR campaign (with TAT using foreign marketing expertise and consultancy) to promote Thailand properly against the ever-increasing global and regional competition. And I don't mean a new national cocktail lol.

Ability for farang to get 30 year lease (renewable by non-revokable law) for 1 rai of land for personal use.

Simplification of the work permit process.

    my 2p:

even I agree with most of your statements I cannot agree to the often heard "exchange-rate" thing. That the UK governement messed up the £ is really not Thailands fault. Nor is it Thailands fault that the US and EU did the same.

  7. Coup? Army or police? PPP or PAD? What will change?

As long as Thais are divided in country- and city-people, where first struggle for food and the others struggle for luxury, there will be democratic unjustice. The dictate of the uneducated.

As long as Thai-Leaders leave the vast masses of voters in intellectual-poverty, they can, with their money, win privileges (e.g.elections).

To be able to buy elections, these leaders must have funds. To have funds, they must be crooks.

Is there a the difference between Mister T. and Mister S.? None so far. Both want power.

Mister T. was clever enough to make the poor get the impression he cared about them, giving him time to collect tons of money for himself.

Mister S. tries to make the intellectual believe, that their more-education puts them in place to reign over everyone in a fascist-like, for sure undemocratic, way.

As long as no real democratic-thinking leader emerges, there will be no hope for LOS.

Stop smiling Thais! Stop asking/taking your little bribes! Kick the big crooks in their buts and out. Eat your somtam later!

I cannot see an easy way out of the mess Thailand is in right now.

Perhaps a military coup, somewhat unjustified, would be best though. Have T and S together in Dubai after that.

The long awaited and promised Internet for everybody, good education in rural areas and new elections let's say in 5 years ..........
