  1. My best dental experiences were at the RAM dental clinic. I have never had any pain there and have had several root canals, a wisdom tooth removed and other procedures. I tried a more modern place that a friend kept pushing recently, but the dentist's English was not very good and I was not sure what she was trying to tell me. I'm going back to RAM.

My previous comments regarding most anything at Ram, and specifically the dental clinic, stand.

Dr. Supachi at Big Smile will do you the best. Work with him. http://www.bigsmile-chiangmai.com/

  2. Years ago I asked the Chief of CM Immigration if the folks there would do training for other groups on how to be friendly and polite to the public.

When asked what group I might have in mind I answered that the US Consulate staff needed the training most of all (and still do).

All I got back was a very nice smile and a chuckle...

  3. Bought my Bruno here in Chom Thong some 8 - 9 years ago. Had the capacitor replaced this year but otherwise no problems.

Shop where I bought it repairs them quickly I have noticed.

  4. People who treat animals in a horrible way, do so because that's how they want to be treated.

As a good man I always give them what they want. I find pleasure in it. When I see an animal abuser, whatever he did to the animal I do it right back to him. Not because I want to hurt that person but because it is obvious that he did what he did because he wants the same thing to be done to him.

  5. i use a guy called Suchart, he is Thai and speaks good English, is trustworthy, cheap and comes to your house to fix what he can onsite,

I and several other farangs have used him loads and have been pleasantly surprised on how good he has been.

I will pm you with his current telephone number if you want it?

    Kevin

I have passed on this thread to Suchat and leave to him to contact the OP.

  6. You should get your full one year extension since the your passport will expire after that date.

Then when you get the passport you will need to go to immigration and have your stamps transferred..

Immigration will give you an extension with less than one year remaining on a passport but it will only be to the date of expiration. Immigration will transfer the stamps when a new passport is obtained. Then it will require applying for a new extension prior to the date the shortened extension expires.

  7. My partner has been quite successful selling on Etsy, not eBay.

Shipping prices are always a bit of a problem. We find that, depending on customer needs, SAL works well for both European and USA destinations. Registered with tracking. Some customers have opted for the slow boat because of price and have been satisfied as well.

Thai Post website has a page for determining the prices by different services offered so one may accurately quote shipping prices.

  8. Do you use a US address ?

If not then you will have to download the forms from the IRS web site and refill them out using your Turbo Tax printed copies as a reference / guide. Efile is only available for US addresses. If you did use a US address then try a VPN with a US IP address and you should be able to eFile

A free one is Tunnel Bear, available here:

    https://www.tunnelbear.com/

Yes, you can send multiple years worth of forms in one envelope but I wouldn't do it, too much chance of something going wrong at the IRS end. Clearly mark which tax year on the outside of the envelopes and pay a little in additional postage for peace of mind

Efile is available for those not using a US address. If you owe tax you can use a credit card issued by a US bank for payment.

Done this the last couple of years and it really makes life easier.

  9. Dr. Supachi, Big Smile Dental clinic (http://www.bigsmile-chiangmai.com/) is great.

Suggest staying away from RAM - expensive and not all that competent.

Wow! That's a sweeping statement. I guess you must be qualified to make such an allegation?

To the contrary, I found my extensive treatment very professional, the dentist I had was USA qualified, but as I warned, it's not the cheapest.

The experts were on hand, from X-ray to Dental Surgeon.

To each his own... You're obviously the expert here with that many posts to your credit.

  10. Based upon post #5, I searched for "trash pump" and found this web site that details different types of pumps and their uses. The OP might want to read about them here:

    http://www.waterpumpsdirect.com/stories/265-How-to-Pick-the-Perfect-Trash-Pump.html

Yep, I also had done a Google search and visited this site and learned from it... thanks for the reminder. Still haven't found a trash or diaphgam pump for sale in Thailand but still looking!

ToolPro, trash pumps about 20k , honda powered diaphragm about 50k.

Thanks for this information... is this a store in Udon Thani? That's the best a Google search is showing for me.

  11. Personally I use BUPA. Before settling in Thailand I used BUPA International. Now I use BUPA Thailand http://www.international-health-cover.com/medical-insurance-providers/bupa-thailand.html

Maybe not the cheapest but for sure reliable.

I too have BUPA Thailand. Most reliable thing about them is that they have a habit of rejecting the use of the insurance first time around. A call to them will convince them that the use is valid and they follow through well. Funny little habit they have - at least in 75% of the times I have used them.

  12. There are a number of varieties grown here. I have 3 different types growing here on my place. Just look around the flower markets or ag shows (Mae Jo Uni comes to mind).

May not do well in the wetter south but here in the semi-arid north they grow quite well.
