  1. I'll field this question folks :D

Yanhee carries a fairly wide variety of styles (cohesive and saline) manufactured by American giant Allergan.

They also carry Mc Ghan style implants (though considerably more expensive).

Yanhee (and every other hospital MMR works with) has a 100% guarantee on their work.

This is obviously on a case by case basis and covers any surgeon errors.

Follow the butterfly for more information

My wife's just been to Yanhee today for a consultation with Dr Greechart and the wife recons he told her they only do silicone implants and not saline one, something about them being out of balance or shape after a few years,, I wonder why she was told this? Or perhaps it was all lost in translation.. :)

Which is better anyways Saline or Silicone ?

    Thanks.

  2. In the DreamBoxEdit program which I'm not familiar with, I was able to download information from the Dreambox via FTP.

Looking at the CNN and NHK channels these are the settings, there are two entries for NHK for some reason.

I'm not sure how to correct these to ensure they are coming from True?

  3. Hello

I've not used the DreamBoxEdit program, I have however already setup channels and added them in to bouquets via the on-screen menus. I will have a look at this program. So do you pick up all the channels OK on your Dreambox?

    Cheers

    I have a Dreambox DM-7020 S and Truevisions, but a different image.

I would recommend you use the program "DreamBoxEdit" and download all the settings and channels first. Save it. Just in case...

Then delete all the channels on your Dreambox by uploading and empty set of settings from DreamBoxEdit. (Don't worry, the satellite settings are not affected by this)

Then, when your Dreambox is empty, do a new automatic channel search. When this done, download them to your DreamBoxEdit program and create all the bouquets and Radios you like, save them and upload to your Dreambox.

The Program DreamBoxEdit can be downloaded at http://dreamboxedit.digsat.net/index.html

BTW, I also have a jittery image, don't know why.

  4. Hi,

I have a Dreambox 500-S connected to True Visions Sat TV, using a genuine smart card.

I've installed the latest PLi image (PLi Jade 3 20090627) on to the Dreambox.

But some of the channels are missing.

93 BBC BBC World News Not listed on Dreambox

82 MA Majung Not listed on Dreambox

85 MTV MTV Not listed on Dreambox

92 PHOX PhoenixInfoNews Not listed onDreambox

83 LTNG TChannel Not listed on Dreambox

81 TMUS TrueMusic Not listed on Dreambox

91 CNN CNNInternational Listed on Dreambox but does not play

97 NHK NHK Listed on Dreambox but does not play

I'm not sure what to do to get them to appear, I suspect its related to the transponder scan not picking them up for some reason?

The satellite is ThaiCom 5 KU Band. My LNB settings are:

    LOF/L: 11300

    LOF/H: 11300

    Threshold 12000

I've tried selecting the option to increase the voltage but this made no difference.

If I go in to the manual transponder scan the Frequency = 12655 Mhz Polarity = horizontal Symbol rate = 30000. SNR = 92% AGC = 86% BER = 0 Lock and Sync are selected.

Does anyone else using True Visions with a Dreambox know how I might be able to pick up these missing channels?

Also the other problem I have is the picture is a bit jittery. Was watching a football match last night and it was a bit jumpy and not smooth.

    Many thanks.

  5. Marriage certificate, wifes house book, and ID card plus copies.. Copies of your passport, photo page, visa, and entry/permit to stamp pages. Copy of TM6 departure card and 2 photos. 1900 baht fee.

Thank you. Only thing I don't have is Wife's house book as we are renting in Samui but I'm sure we can show them our rental agreement.

    Thanks again.

  6. As I said not all immigration offices will do it, We just had a report from a member that did it in Bangkok because Pattaya would not do it.

If you only have 20 days left you would not be able to do it because a minimum of 21 days is required.

Either Penang or KL is a good choice for a single non-o since you are in Samui.

If you would like some more time you can get a 60 day extension at immigration to visit your wife.

More time would be very helpful, as I might have a business trip coming up to KL, so I could possibly do both together if I can postpone

having to leave Thailand in the next 20 days.

What do I need to do, to get the 60 day extension at the local immigration?

Thank you very much for the advice guys!

  7. Thanks for the replies, I am married to a Thai and I earn more than 40K per month and pay company and personal income tax.

The immigration office in Samui never mentioned any of this really other than I might be able to get a new non-o in Bangkok but they said it might be more problematic and not guaranteed. The guy in the immigration office said my best bet was to apply for a new single entry non-o in KL and then come back and see him and he could do my one year extension and then I would not have to do the visa runs anymore.

So I'm not sure what I should do and I only have 20 odd days to sort something out. What would you advise?

    Cheers

  8. I'm currently in a similar situation as yourself at the moment and was planning to go to KL.

I've just read in a local news paper

"There are two seperate methods available to the applicant to obtain a non immigrant visa.

One method is an application process recently introduced by the government, for applicants who have already

entered Thailand on a tourist or transit visa.

The other method is an application process for applicants who are outside of Thailand"

So by the sounds of that you can now apply for non immigrant visa's in country ?

Does anyone know more about this and where to do it as it might save me a trip to KL.

    Thanks.

  9. Let's see what they have to say about the missing "ubcschedule.zip" file. Maybe some <deleted> thought: "This is an old UBC file, we don't need to maintain that any more because we are now TrueVisions". :)

Did you find an answer to this?

I emailed them only yesterday with the same question if I could download their EPG data in a file and they said no.

What was the file format of the ubcschedule.zip file when you were able to download it? XLS, XML etc ?

    Thanks

  10. Thanks for the fast replies !

There will only be my wife and myself as staff. I'm will be working as a sub-contractor for another company who will pay me for my services and it's over 40000B per month. Plus I can do other work on the side as I will have my own company and WP and I am not restricted to working at one employer as it were.

So it sounds like I don't need a business visa as I am married I can just apply for an extension on my O visa and show my income is that right?

    Cheers

  11. Hello

I was hoping someone in the know could help me.

I'm currently on a 12 months non immigrant O visa which runs out in May 2009. My Thai wife and I

are in the process of setting up / registering a Thai Limited Partnership company.

I've had conflicting advice from so called Thai lawyers, on if I can gain a work permit on my current non-O visa ?

Or if I have to change it now to a Business visa ?

One said I could remain on the non-O visa get a work permit and then in May change to a Business visa and the work permit would just continue.

Whilst someone else said that I would have to gain a Business visa first before I could get a work permit?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Regards.

  12. Vinny

Thanks for the reply but I am not sure what this means? e-passport do they also get a normal physical Thai passport?

    What is an e-Passport?

It is an electronic passport which contains technical specifications that comply with the standards set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It differs from a non-electronic Passport via to the following characteristics:

    • It contains biometric data such as finger prints and facial features in a contactless integrated circuit which is embedded in all e-Passports.
    • It is readable by the automatic gates at immigration checkpoints which automatically verify that the embedded information matches that of the bearer.

  13. The other thing I might be able to do is register my new company earlier, online with companies house in the UK, that would get me a company number and VAT number. Then show the VISA immigration people I am a managing director and owner of a new startup company, give them the companies website address and they can see what we are planning on doing etc. Would that fly ?

  14. Hello.

I was hoping one of the experts may be able to advise me a little bit please.

I am currently living in Thailand with my fiancée and we plan to be married soon here in Thailand. I have a seven year old step child

and we have just had a new baby together as well 3 months ago.

We are planning on returning to the UK early next year, where my fiancée will hopefully be returning to her job there after her maternity leave. We met in the UK you see and she was on another visa that expired (Another story) and we wanted to come to Thailand anyways so she could be with her mum and the new baby and I could leave my crappy job.

I don't have a job to go to on my return to the UK, but I can do some work for my father's building business and I plan to start a new business / company for myself as well and hope to become self employed.

I can always find some work doing anything to get us by if need be, when we get back to the UK. We will be living with my parents initially as the house I own will still be rented out for 6 months.

I can't see any real problems with an application (Although you never now with these people!) as we have lived together in the UK met there and now have two children.

The only thing I'm worried about is if they expect me to have some income? My mum and dad have said we can stay with them so we won't have a mortgage to pay or any bills just some money towards food is all. It's a 3 bedroom house and the kids will have one, we will have one and my parents will have one. Not over crowded as the baby is not classed as a person till age one.

And like I said my then wife, the Visa applicant already has a job in the UK waiting for her to go back to.

I have quite a bit of paper work from banks and bills and things, with both our names on it at both our addresses in the UK and here in Thailand. I have no evidence of phone calls or emails to each other, but we have always been together since we met. And I have thousands of digital photos of us all in the UK and here.

Can you see any issues I might face with my income or lack of it or anything I've not thought about?

    Many Thanks

    Kind Regards.

  15. Her Visa will be curtailed when her husband informs the authorities that she has left him. That means she has to leave the UK then, she might not get a date set in stone when she has to leave by, but she will be expected to leave in a reasonable time frame.

I had a friend in a similar situation and they had an appeal at court and she also mentioned abuse but had no evidence the court dismissed the case and she had to leave the UK eventually. She left and and paid for her flights, so she did not get deported. If you are deported they will put a black mark on you and I would think it is very difficult to ever come back to the UK.

There was an application that they could have been made within the country to stay, but it cost more money than applying from Thailand and was less likely to be granted. I remember that turned out not to be the best option for them.

I think realistically she needs to go back to Thailand and then re-apply for a new visa once she is divorced. For an un-married partner visa you need to have been together for 2 years or more and show evidence to back that up.

The other option is a 6 months fiancee visa, not sure what documents you need for that and of course you could get married in Thailand and bring her back as your spouse.

But trying to keep her in the UK now is going to be very difficult / expensive and very stressful for you both.

    Good luck

  16. I need to buy a USB TV Tuner stick for my laptop so I can connect it to the aerial on the roof. What type of TV tuner would I need?

What is the standard used for Terrestrial Over the air broadcasts in Thailand? I doubt its DVB-T (Digital) Is it still analog over here?

    Thanks.
