  1. oh so your saying that actually I can just drive to the border and still get the 60 days.. I thought i have to fly in to get 60.. and to get a 60 day, instead of 30 day extension, what do you have to show them?  just the marriage certificate or do you have to have the money in the bank, lease and all the other things I woud usually submit?

  2. I went to the e-visa website and it says you can not apply if you are already in Thailand.  So I would have to do it while i'm on my trip abroad and I'm not sure it would be approved in a few days.. If I just fly to Singapore or Bali or wherever and come back (again-US passport with a non-o that just expired in it) in a few days; will they give me 60 days with a possible 30 day extension or is it 30 days with a possible 30 day extension?

  3. I can not extend the marriage visa this time but I want to take a break in singapre for a week and then come back here for about 3 months and then goto the US for a while, while i'm there i'll get another marrigae visa there before i come back again..

so the tourest visa isn't necessary and just get a visa on arrival?

  4. Does anyone know how to do this?  the passport renewal form tells me i need to pay this fee:

Insured Return Envelope Fee: Pay Courier Pass Back electronically via Thailand Post Mart website. (If the page appears in Thai, you may use a translate function into English at the top right corner of the page.)  A printout the electronic payment confirmation Please provide invoice number THP________________________

I found the https://www.thailandpostmart.com/  site but no idea how to purchase this

  5. I have a VPN on my computer and 1 on my tablet.. but when i goto maps it is still pinpointing my location to Thailand innstead of Japan which i am connecting too.. i see some VPNs on the app store but they want a cc payment first before i can try it..  is there a VPN that will make my tablet think it's really in Japan?  I need it to think its in Japan otherwise this app i'm using won't work like its in Japan..

I was in South Korean 2 weeks ago for few days with my Thai girlfriend (I said girlfriend because we are not officially but we have been living together for 18 years already and live in the same house in Thailand).

We also went for the first time to South Korea last September 2023 for a week holidays.

So in Sept we both applied for K-ETA through the official website and got apprpved (mine took few minute for approval as French passport but for my girlfriend took few days before approval). Well all good.

When we arrived at Incheon airport, I let my girlfriend pass first the immigration.

When she gave her passport to the officer, immediately the officer stand up anf shout "Thai passport!". Another officer arrived and asked to follow him to a interrogation room. I then want to follow them but they instruct me proceed immigration for me and wait outside! Immigration check took me only few minutes and then I wait right after the immigration point for my girlfriend. Half hours later, an immigration officer to question me: are you living together? How long? Are living in the house..? One point is that i am working in Vietnam and doing a lot of go and back between Vietnam and Thailand.

That day we flew together directly from Saigon to Seoul. They were very confused why I was pretending living with my girfriend in Thailand but was working in Vietnam...

I started to get inpatient and annoyed and told them at some that if there was problem, that was ok for us and could cancel our holidays in Korea and take the next plane to Tokyo instead...(even we had hotels booked in Korea and return flight from Seoul to Saigon).

Few minutes later, my girlfriend was released, fully cleared immigration. She told me that they questioned a lot (in Thai), she had to show photos of us on her phone (glad she use Google photo as photo storage...) but they were insisting to show them her expired passport (she renewed her passport in 2022). Anyway, finally all good and we enjoyed our holidays.

The K-ETA once approved is valid for 2 years.

So when we went back last month to Seoul, we didn't re-applied for it.

This time, all went well on arrival. No question asked and only few minutes at the immigration check.

i have been to korea with a Thai woman 2 times and such a thing never happened, last time we went (a month ago) we both got 3 months with visa on arrival.. 3 months is pretty generous for a visa on arrival..

    My solution

No banking apps on the phone.

    Four accounts, one ATM card

i have found that online banking itself isn't necessary, all places allow you to pay with a debit card(after entering pin#) & alot of them allow you to pay with the BTS rabbit tap card (which is the fastest way to pay) and the GRAB app also allows you to use a debit card w/o having an online banking service.  it's just a few vending machines that i have to use cash and sometimes it's not taking coins or paperbills.

Imaging if these incredibly intelligent and creative criminals would channel their energies towards things that would make the world a better place. Just not these criminals but all criminals. The world would be such a better place. Pipe dreaming. Too many people out there that are to lazy to work and would rather use their time stealing from hard working folks.

As far as the Thai banking system...... it's lacking an awful lot just like the RTP and govt officials that can't seem to make common sense decisions.

yea really, their smart enough to do that & the work involved and the risks, you wonder why they don't just get a well paying job coding

It's pathetic, can't use a bank app for fear of fraud. What a system here in Thailand.

I have an Australian bank app and been using it for years and never had a problem, no disappearing funds, no hacks and no worries

yea but people in the uk & aus. have been hit with this type of fraud as well, online banking here is as (in)secure as any online banking, it's not secure.
