  1. Probably not the answer you wanted, but I think you can use yogurt from Chokchai farm. There are "Umm...Milk!" stores and they sell milk, yogurt, ice cream, etc.

They have their farm not too far from Bangkok, thankfully within thailand :o, I started buying ice cream and yogurt from them. Only one store location I've been to though. It's on Sukhumvit soi 23.

  2. Bei Otto is great!! It's not formal, a good casual place for german food and some beer. One of my fav. retaurants in BKK!!!

You should definitely go. If you are driving, you can park at the building right across, and the restaurant will validate for you.

I have not tried the chinese restaurant at Westin, but Sheraton across from the Westin Sukhumvit lunch buffet is good, my brother said he had the best meal at the Sheraton buffet while visiting me in BKK (he paid for it too, so it must be good). My brother has a quite sophisticated taste in food, but cannot eat anything spicy.

    Hope it helps!

  3. Thank you everyone!!!

I will check out some sites mentioned.

Last weekend, I exprored J-avenue and the villa market...and I really loved the villa. Why am I craving something that I never liked when I was in the states......haha

I think that villa market is the best place for grocery shopping now, and I even bought a little icebox! :o

    Thank you for your tips!

  4. I have great answers for you. These three are the basic treatments:

    1. Birth control pills

    2. Benzoyl Peroxide

    3. Antibiotics

I would first have her try Benzoyl Peroxide gel/cream. I had acne problems myself so I studied a lot on treatments. Finally this was the answer for me.

You can get a good size tube of BP 2.5% from any pharmacy for about 300 baht. Have her wash her face twice daily and completely dry her face or infected area (never use scrub or dry her face harsh with towel) and apply a small amount of BP gel/cream. This will dry out quickly. BP may bleach hair/clothes, so be careful! (it's safe when it's dry) and DO NOT apply around EYES!!! When it's completely dry, apply enough moisturizer (water based, not oil) - again, be careful with the eyes.

Acne will start disappearing in 2-3 days. I have tried all three basic methods, and this was the best for me.

(and unfortunately, acne is not curable....)

  5. I am 28, working and living in Bangkok....and my questions is,

What do you do on the weekend???

I know it sounds sad, but I usually just stay home or go watch a movie at Emporium on weekends. My husband and I are together 24/7 (we work at the same place so we go to work together, we come home together....).

I am having a hard time finding things to do (separately from my husband). I thought about joining one of women's clubs, but they all meet and have activities on weekdays. I am not a cook, baker, or a good sports player, oh, also suck at knitting too, however I am willing to learn and try.

Is there any cooking class, or just about anything to do as a group on weekends??? Seriously, just one afternoon tea meet up will do although I am looking for something that will last a while.

    PLEASE HELP ME :o

  6. I went to the big nursery behind/next to Big C on Ekkamai on the weekend. If you are walking/driving, it's on the soi after you pass by Big C. It's behind an Asian antique store.

They have a lot of different plants and your gardening needs from little shovels to potting mix to fully grown plants. They do have parking space available, so you don't have to worry about parking if you are driving. The worst case, you can pull your car inside the nursery, their entrance is big enough to fit your car/truck.

The owner (I think) understands and speaks a bit of English (maybe with a little help of hand gesture from you). I had no problem asking for a small shovel, potting mix, empty pots, etc. and he understood everything at once.

It was a great discovery!!!!! Thank you Mangotogo!!!

  7. Jim's Lodge on Soi Ruam Rudee. Like was said before, it's on the backside of the Embassy and it would require a walk down the street and around the corner, 10 minutes. Good luck

I wonder why nobody has recommended Conrad yet?

It's right next to the US embassy. :o

  8. Thank you everybody. I am still in dilemma. :o I'm coming from the states, so 220/50 electricity is very new....and no PAL. My husband is telling me to sell it. We are moving to Bangkok for work, so customs should be pretty easy...i think.

  9. I am moving to Bangkok soon, in 2 months. I am selling almost everything, but I am in dilemma with my TV. The TV is only about a year Samsung flat screen 56" HDTV...I just cannot give up on this one. Should I bring it to Bangkok or would it go obsolete in Thailand? I know Thailand is 220/50 - anyway to convert my TV's watt/voltage?

    Please help me!!! Thank you!
