  1. Nokia Messaging is one of service which you can receive the push mails and chat with people who are using the nokia messaging at the moment. The service is quite similar to Blackberry service sinch you can add 10 email accounts( hotmail, yahoo. gmail and others) on the server and also chatting feature(like BB messaging). Moreover, this service also cost you the expense as Volume-based type which mean the charges will depends on how much of information you have use ( by Kb. or Mb. ).

In case you are having the time-based internet package, the usgae of Nokia messaging will not included. For example, AIS will charge you 0.10 / kb.

  2. This is to all the guys posting earlier about the sollution to AIS not giving us much validity recently.

There is a plan called Sawasdee that gives you full 1 month validity on one 100 THB recharge.

It is mentioned here at the bottom of the plans table:

    http://www.12call.ais.co.th/en/Content/Pro...on_Current.html

but clicking on further details brings you to a site all in Thai no matter what.

You got to be brave, dial *777 and follow prompts to select the Sawasdee. The voice prompts have English version and surprisingly work letting you quickly select what you need. I can now confirm to you after getting on this plan I have just recharged 100 THB and got a 1 month validity!!! :-) :-) :-)

Remember now you can buy validity, Mao mao 30 baht get more 30 days + 30 minutes call free.!

    Just give 1175 a call. :)

  3. Hi all. I have a 1 2 call simcard. I keep getting SMS messages from a servive called "NewsPlus". Its not much good to me as I cannot read Thai. It averages about 6 messages a day. Am sure it is not free. Does anybody know how I can stop this service. I have tried replying to the messages without success. Thanks

I guess they have 4 kinds of Newsplus, which one you get?

    HotNews to cancel *426482299

    Entertain to cancel *426482399

    Update to cancel *426482499

    Hilight to cancel *426482599

well, if you have no idea, better call the provider to help you with this.

  4. Hello, i would like to ask your advice on bringing a second hand blackberry curve 8900 to Thailand and using it primarily in Chiang mai. This phone was bought in the UK without a sim, and now i expect it would have to be unblocked in order for me to use it with a thai network.

My question is, has anybody unblocked a blackberry 8900; if so how much did you pay, and what kind network are you using to take advantage of the internet options? Can you use this phone on a one2call network or does it have to be a contract of some kind ?

Also what is the network coverage like on the Blackberrys in Chiang mai ?

    Thank you for your time

    Blackberry Prepaid service from 1-2-Call

Daily 42 bt. (32 bt per day until the end of this December)

    Monthly 650 bt.

If your mobile is really brandnew one and have never regist the pin and IMEI on the BB server before it should be working. ( well must unlock first.)

  6. Why so many? hummmm to me, as the Thai, the children are very close to their mother and see her as the model.. and you know, many fathers here hit his wife and do not give enough attention to the children, not being depenable enough.. so I think some boys would prefer to be lady than being guy like his dad.

Just my opinion. Though, Don't you think Thai Katoey are pretty? even more than Farang Katoey. LOL

  7. I have the AIS 30 hours for 99baht. Dial *777*77# when I need to top up. (think this is new).

    Hi bkkmick,

When you say you dial to top up when needed. Do you first need to put put time on your sim. To make payment?

    Cheers jb1

:D 30 hours for 119 bath is for one who apply the promotion " Internet Lover" as the main plan. The number *777*77# is for renewing package when you did not have enough balance on your billing cycle but would like to continue the promotion again since if you top up balance after the billing cycle, system will not automatically renew for you. Must renew it by yourself. ( for " SMS Lover" promotion as well) :) To have these two promotions as your main plan, dial *777

ps. rate 99 baht was for customer who has applied the promotion for long time before, new user will be 119 baht.

Yes Jb1, you must put sim card into mobile to apply all those things. If it's not convenient for you but if you have another one-2-call number, you can use *130*mobile number of internet sim* top up pin# and call to recharge and call the call center 1175 to apply the package for you.

  8. :) Packages Monthly Fee (excluding 7%VAT) :D

Apply or Cancel or By On-top package, dial *138

    Check Min. remainded, *139#

Exceeded usage is 1 baht per min.

  9. I think this is a difficult one. 500 hours equates to over 15 hours a day. Why could an iphone need more than that?

500 hours is definitely enough if you are prepared to toggle on and off edge. But, come on that so boring.

According to my secretary using DTAC I am better off with the unlimited package though it assumes massive EDGE usuage. BTW. Also AIS offers EDGE not GPRS is most places.

I dont know anyone techy enough but an iphone seems to be connected to data virtually 100% of the time,

Just get the blackberry package put on your sim card. 650baht unlimited data.

Its the best solution but AIS don't tell u this.

I have heard that RIM server can monitor and found that you are using the service over BB or not and their can drop your package if using service that not included in the condition?

  10. I've ordered an iphone 3gs and was planning on adding some GPRS hours to my current AIS post paid package. AIS offered me 500 hours for 250Baht which seemed OK to me as I don't plan to be online much with my iphone. Maybe just check emails or surf the net now and again (ie not on a daily basis).

But a lot of people have told me that the iphone goes online automatically and is pretty much connected all the time. So. I am not sure now if 500 hours per month would be enough or not. If not, then I would have to purchase an unlimited gprs package. At the same time I don't see the point in paying for unlimited if it is not necesary.

Do any iphone users out there have an idea of their approx gprs usage pe rmonth? I know it is different for everyone, but just a rough guide would help.

    Thanks!

Do you mean 250 hours 500 baht per month?

  11. I don't think IMEI tracking is available here in Thailand and even they have, it's very cheap to unlock everything at MBK.

The best way is to hide small GPS device in your handset, when you lost the cell, you can track it by yoursefe. One of my friend did that to spy if her husband has a secret wife or not. LOL.

What the provider can do is only to terminate the sim card since they provide only the network and sim service and it's hard to find by tracking sim becoz one who found your cell might kick your sim card out asap. As they make it more convenient for the customer to change their provider as they wish by using prepaid sim, seem to me that there are very few contract phone service available here in Thailand now.

I know that AIS have one free service called Sim bank. You can leave your contact list on their data based. In case you change a new sim card or lost it, you can still get the phone book back to the new device. However, have to visit the shop and apply the service before you lose the handset. :)

Hope this reply would help you get some idea. take care.

  12. One easy way if you are using AIS is just to dial *490049. There is currently a free international calls promotion.

Follow the instructions and you can call the US for free. Also China, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong.

There is a 2 Baht charge from AIS for the local call, but no charges for the international service.

If you aren't using AIS, I would recommend Deedial (www.deedial.com). You can register your phone and get 10 minutes free. After that, their rates to the US are about 1 baht, and you can top up at Counter Service at any 7-11.

Please Listen CAREFULLY!!! IT"S NOT AIS SERVICE BUT FROM DDIAL!!!!!

    THanks..

  13. DID you mean collect call?

    using landline: CAT- call 100

    TOT-call 1800 8000 66

rate depends on the destination operator.

Call Oz using 009 or 008 = 7 bt per min (cheap price, using internet protocal) +/001/005 = 18 bt per min

Using mobile fone call international, you may be charged since the first ring even nobody reply...been like this for so long, got to be understanding..

  14. They said it's taste like Chicken? I don't know, ve never tried...but some insects and one kind of cockroach that live in rice field.

BY the way, my younger brother has tried dog before when he went to Sakonnakorn. He thought it was beef :o !

  15. If the family business is run by some with Chinese blood they shut. However banks and other national companies are open. Ranong is a Chinese town thus not a lot of shops open today.

That's right. Lots of Thai in Bangkok and some city in Thailand have Chinese blood and even very Thai like me we also would like to enjoy the holiday too, hahahaha .

  16. do Thais eat monitor lizards in spite of their disdain for them...I know they are commonly eaten elsewhere but have never seen them on the menu in LOS.....

No we don't but the city manager has plan to keep them for leather industry. Imagine how it's will be like to use the monitor lizard's purse. Cool!

In some city in ISan, they also eat kind of ground lizard-YAE but I don't think we Thai would eat the monitor lizard. Too scarryyyy :o Who knows, this is kitchen cabinet, anything could happen..;-)

  17. If it was in Thai, yes. Why wear it if the locals do not read it well?

How can you be sure about that? :o Actually, no need to be able to read English well, the picture is shown and we like picture!

Anyway, I have never met any farang guy in Thailand who spend money that much for girls in Thailand before. If you know, please introduce.. HAHAHAHA

    Ps. Im kiddin,

  18. AS the Thai..

Farang means Guava one kind of thai local fruit white flesh..WE also use the word to call the white only.

For African American, Japanses, Chinese and India ppl, we use different words.

I dont know that actually, you like us to call you like that or not but it's seem to me that all my foreigner friends like to call themselve Farang when they are talking with me. :o

  19. Maybeeeeeee 50% of us would be arrested by the kiddy porn squad, 30% by our own police for assorted crimes, 10% by Thai police for visa irregularities, leaving the remaining 10% who do post something about themsleves so they could het arrested later?

LOL, they show enough from their idea and attitude....I think they better not show any important information that ppl can find out where u are..just showing an email addreass, I have lots of junk mails and spam in my mail account! :o
