  4. Hi i have a small business in the UK manufacturing T Shirts, i am in thailand 2 get short runs made and ship back to old blighty, ive tried to get all the answers but im sure you all know the joys ive ran into trying to get hard facts. Im a bit stuck though for the following reasons.

1.) what are my legal requirements on the Thai side when exporting, fee's, documentation, hard card? FOB?.... the last 2 are terms i have read on other site and have no idea what they mean,

    2. i have spoke 2 HM customs today and they said that duty and VAT will be paid buy the shipping company, say DHL they add on a fee for Tax and duty items........ but if i use the EMS service they ask no questions in my little post office on soi 22 sukhumvit but as im shipping 2 my family until i return and set up a new office i dont really want to land them in the s+it...

    Any advice is much appreciated.

  5. kelvinlinsey, I believe that if you want to arrange a work permit for somebody you have to employ that person in your company but he does not necessarily have to be a director.

The work permit will be valid for the same period as his permission to stay. If the intention is that he should be able to get an annual extension of stay based on his employment you must pay him a certain minimum salary depending on his nationality, and your company must show a certain minimum revenue for the last fiscal year.

  9. My other half is from the north east and its a heated subject every time we talk about toxic sorry taksin, i know its better not to bring it up but all the stories that she gets told at her shopping cetre are mad, dont vote for him cos if you do we have elections again soon, the ppp love thai people and the democrats love the muslims and on and on.......

Does any1else agree that their kind between a rock and a hard place, some of my thai mates (men) are not voting cos the goverment have stopped a favourite bar from selling booze for 2 weekends hahahahah have to laugh hey.

i really hope that the masses vote and ANY vote buying and corruption is exposed, i also hope that America will sort out their policy on global warming.

  10. The Boys in Brown stop me all the fricking time!!!!! looking for a easy buck! if i was being stopped for a geniune reason i wouldnt care as much but its cos they want to shack some cash into there pockets, it happens all the time around asoke area and is getting right on my nerves! Ive been in the land of smiles and corruption for a few years now and i must get stopped every 10 days or so i have a work permit and have now made a card i keep in my wallet that has a small copy of my passport, visa etc, i ask them why i am being stopped and i get the same "looking for drugs <deleted>".

I love thailand and there are so so many pluses for me in being here, but this place will never be democratic until corruption is shrunk and Jo thai says enough is enough, my other half is thai and freely admits that she not that unhappy with Thaksin, politicians and police being such corrupt scum as long as they do a little bit of good its better than nothing?...... W T F!!!!!!!!

    A normally happy guy.

  11. I have done it in one night twice now, get the first flight (Airasia) get off the plane buy your ticket for the cab from the booth on the ground floor (cheaper and fast) go streight to the Embassy get ya cab to wait bo the business and then pic it up at 2 the next day and you can still get the 6pm back!

The Embassy is a doddle compared to hel_l ON EARTH aka KL.

    Enjoy k

oh there is a ok place to say with lean cheap single rooms with free wifi blar blar called the Banana bar.

  12. If you have a valid work permit and the right paperwork you should be able to get the 1 year Non B from Penang without having to waste money flying to the UK. The list of requirements for a non Immigrant B visa are at the following link to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs: http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2492

Once you have a one year multiple non B, then you just need to visit the border to get another 90 day stamp, giving you almost 15 months of time in Thailand before you need to make a new visa run.

You will see from the above link that if you want to teach, there are different requirements for the non B visa.

Thanks for the info and the link really helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Regards

I have my own business and make the visa run every 3 months to KL, I will be returning to the UK in may and will get my 1 year visa then but as you guys know i can only get a work permit for the extent of my visa so........... i know the right thing to do is get a work permit upon my return from KL but...... whats the deal if i work without one, 2 things confuse me.

  14. well, it's the very generals which do corrupt thai politics - including more or less violent overthrowing of governments.

of course, the ruling clique would talk against vote buying to give themselves high moral ground and legitimacy, but there is a possibility they are preparing for a election defeat and eventually getting rid of the winning opposition party by invalidating the general election or votes in the constituencies where they are loosing.

the worst is when generals start playing politics - they have to win by any means necessary

This man speaks sence!!!!! Thanks your a like fresh air in a poluted town.
