  1. I doubt I will be doing the 30 year professional route but who knows. One thing for sure is that I will be going to South America and the Phillipines and perhaps Tibet. The non trinity tesol starts in 5 days will this be suffice for these countries in a position which will give me enough to get by on and have a little fun, not saving for a rainy day just yet.??

  2. Hi just a quick question. I am now down to two shcools have found in Thailand to learn teaching English. One is a Cambridge Celta, the other a Tesol (not trinity college Tesol). The tesol seems ok but does it hold much weight abroad or in Thailand. I saw the certificate and it has the name of school and type of course I would complete. It is an intensive 120 hour. Can anyone let me know if this a certificate that will do me any good in the future. As far as I know the Celta is the best one to go for but if the TESOL is ok I would rather do that as start time of course and location are better for me. Any advice please???

P.S Moderator as far as I know this isnt asking for advice on particular schools just qualifications.

  3. hel_l there

Happy new year all!! Hope the head isnt too sore like mine.., just wondering if anyone knows anything about the tesol in Phuket?? It looks ok but I dont really want to pay for a course that wont be any good to me??? Any advice or feedback on it??? Its teflcorp.com. I have heard rumours about a bogues tefl-tesol in Phuket, just dont want to fall into that trap and it to be this one.

  4. The celta teaching couyse centre also said that to get a work permit I need a degree, is that true??? I dont have a degree, any advice guys??? 5. Hello there

I am looking to do a tefl or celta course course in Phuket and so far am very confused. The Celta courses Ive seen so far all start in a months time which leaves me with not much to do for a month, and the tefl training centres Ive seen so far seem pretty bogus and give the type of certificate that wouldnt do me much good once I left Thailand. I think I am going to go for the online tefl but again am not sure which one to do and what it really entails. If anyone can recommend a good schooll which will give me a decnt certificate which holds some sort of educational weight and or an online one which will do the same that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

  6. Im off to get my tourist visa at Klumpur tommorw and am a bit worried about the tyep of docs I need. I dont have an onward ticket out of Thailand, as after my tourist Visa I want to get a job who can help me to get a work permit. Its a teaching job and in order to do the course I need a toruist visa. I was told I need a tourist Visa before I can apply for a work permit. Also Ive used up my three entry stamps in 6 months and two are overstay but was told today by immigration that this should be ok as long as they wrere paid. It also say I need proof of how much money I have in the bank. How do I prove this as I have no statement that can back this up??? On the atm slips it never gives a balance??? Can anyone let me know if they are dead strict on this???

  9. Hello there

Just a quick question, I am on my 3rd Visa stamp and am wanting to stay in Phuket for a couple more months. I know that I have to get a tourist Visa to do this but do I really have to leave the country to do this??? Can I not apply for one here?? If that is the case, is there a service where a company will go for you?? I read a post from another member abd he mentioned something about a runner going to Penang for him?? Any advice guys???

    Thanks

  10. Cheers for the encouragement guys, a bit dissapointed but the backup plan is to do the degree in oz, think its alot easier to study over there, dont really want to go back to England for as long as possible now!

Got a bit of time to kill here while Im here now, anyone have any ideas on studying meditation here??

    Thanks

After I left school I did not go to college and was wondering if anyone knows if Thailand has the equivaent of an access course onto a degree in psychology or something of that nature or a college?? Can anybody help???
