  1. I was a former EBC Redstuff with their ultimate rotors? Pretty much I trashed it all in less than 4 months of hard use. The cold braking is poor, while their heat dissipation is also poor. At the end I used another brand of rotors / pads with better results.

It would be more useful to know the distance they lasted than time as it would explain more, this may have been an issue a long time ago with this pad/disc combination, personally Red is not a pad we promote a lot, Yellowstuff or Greenstuff are our most sold pad.

Red stuff current compound state - Very minimal disc/rotor damage characteristics.

    And

As EBC’s flagship street brake pad material for prestige and faster cars above 200BHP, the 09 version of EBC Redstuff ceramic Brake pads sets new standards in brake performance. Redstuff ceramic brake pads have always been known for its low dust ability but the latest blend has greatly reduced the phenomenon of pad “Pick up” or disc scoring and reduced dust even further.

I used this set for about 5-7,000km max. Generally the car is a dedicated spirited highway car with each commute consist of 50km each way. My ride during that time was a Mercedes E280 which is well under 200bhp.

  2. Forgive me here, but the original manufacturers pads are great, they do the job great..........Seems your "stuff" is for the street racer at a much higher cost than OEM...?

Ask any EBC brake user if they would switch back, the lower dust issue, better stopping performance, even from Ultimax are all worth it and Ultimax are around same cost as OE pads

  3. I would recommend Diamond located at Nawamin road.

There are many ex Yontrakit techs opening various independent shops, but so far Diamond seemed to work for me.

    Contact Khun Porntawee @ 081-822-3536

Diamond is NOT on Nawamin, unless they have moved. Diamond is between Rama 9 and Phetburi.

Set Up Service is on Nawamin between sois 76 and 78 and can do this job easily.

They have 2 locations. One is @ Rama 9, and the other is at Nawamin.

  4. Just becareful on the Volvos. The 850 / S70 models have known to have problems in their seals especially between the transmission and the engine. They tend to leak, and it is a very labor intentive task to change a small seal.

Audi's sometimes can be hard to work, but it depends which model you are looking at.

  5. Yes, the VW Golf GTi will run without problems with 95 Gasohol.

I have driven the new GTi for about 1 year and had no problems at all, even though I had the engine tuned by the "official" AUDI / VW Tuner ABT to about 260 HP and the car ran smoothly (including a day on the race track).

So I would not expect any problems with the car here in Thailand.

    Sounds good !

Are you running Shell V-Power or any brand at 95 octane ? - any problems finding the right fuel ?

Have you thought about adding octane booster to the petrol ?

Did you buy the car with the offical dealer or gray import ?

What did you pay for yur new car ?

    Thanks for any info !

I would highly recommend using Shell V-Power for maximum power output. Octane boosters will raise the EGT causing the engine to run hot.

  6. Anybody know a good shop at MBK that will fix this? I think its the hardware.......

Everytime when I turn use the camera app it will crash. In specific the crash will occur once the shutter has opened with the box loaded at the image. Then the phone will reboot again.

Tried the classic restore...guess it didnt work!

    TIA

  7. No. Unlike all other Apple products that carry a worldwide warranty, iPhone warranties are only valid in the country of purchase. I found this out the hard way when I had a problem with my iPhone here in Thailand, which I purchased in Hong Kong....

    ouch

    Thanks again!

  8. Right Initiala4, taking good care of the car is vital, especially if the engine has now more power so every part might be more stressed.

My concern was that the dealer/importer might void any guarantee if he doesn't "like" the chip.

I have now cleared this issues: Both Volkswagen and AUDI grant full warranty to their cars if the chip tuning has been made by the official ABT tuner. That's a relief.

AUDI also told me that chip tuning by MTM would also be accepted.

So now I have the choice, let's see the prices. The increase in power and torque are pretty mach the same.

Where did you find an A6 3.0 TDI in Thailand? Is it Quattro?

    What year is it?

    Got a chipped S6 C4 myself.

Yes the C6 A6 3.0TDI are quattros. You can get it via Yontrakit for 5 million baht ish

  9. Warranty wise it depends. Best is to keep your car properly maintained. I have flashed numerous cars over the past 6 years in the US, Europe, and Asia as well without any problems. The only problems is the end user not taking care of their cars.

If the dealers want to find out if your car is chipped, they can find out if they are skilled enought. Most tuners claim that their chips are invisible to the dealer, which isnt true at all. There are certain protocals in which we can easily find out.

The other important thing when getting a tuning chip is local support. Without any local support its pretty pointless from getting a software from someone who cannot provide you any technical help when your car has problems.

    just my thoughts....
