Hi,
Is a border run with non/O immigrant visa at Chong Chom / Osmach Border in Surin Province still easy, (walking to Cambodia and back)?
Thaivisa forum gets so huge that I couldn't find a definite answer... (my last border run was 8 years ago, and I came back to Europe for 6 months last year, now back to one year multiple entry visa...)
Thanks in advance,Stef

Thanks for your quick reply Ubonjoe ????, feeling relieved...
For the 60 days, should I do it the last day of my current visa, or like the standard one up to a month before and they simply add 60 days to the current validity?
Also do I need financial proof and other documents like for the one year? -
Sorry if it has been asked already... there are so many posts that it is difficult to understand what is currently possible.
I have been extending my Non Imm O marriage visa for several years and my last entry was in 2011 by road in Chom Chom.
Will now go back to Europe and stay there for several months, hence did not add funds in the bank to extend for a year.
Though, I would now need to extend my visa (expiring in 40 days) ideally for 90 more days...What are the options? (extensions via Immigration bureau, border runs?)
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Lopburi dependable as always. Korat Immigration gave me a number here to call then told me to go to Mukdahan. The Amphur here said Mukdahan, so it is hard to get the facts. I will try some of the phone numbers on the link tomorrow.

Will be interesting to drink one again over here and see how it tastes. It used to be my preferred one in the 90s and until they stopped selling it here about 10 years ago...

Waow, you are very responsive, top notch forum!
Thank you,
Stef
You only have to report your address if staying longer than 90 days. You do that at the immigration office you obtained extension of stay from and most accept in person, a second party doing or by mail. You fill out a TM.47 form. If you leave before 90 days in country no report is due until 90 days after return. So those that travel often may never need to make such reports.

Thank you all, I got it.
Extension + re-entry permit is the route :-)
Last question, could you elaborate on:
Two caveats:
1. Although you don't have to leave the country, you still have to report every 90 days,
Do we have to report to the immigration office, if yes are there several offices around LOS or is it in BKK and do we have to go there physically?
Thank you,
Stef

4. If you are going to use the visa you will have to exit every 90 days or less until extension of stay. At that point you will need re-entry permit to keep extension of stay alive if you travel.
Hi,
Very useful information and probably cristal clear for most, though I am not an English speaking native...
To clarify, as from 2nd year, does the re-entry permit require to leave the country every 90 days or is it valid for a full year stay without leaving?
Thank you,
Stef

I'll do so, or advance my flight, thanks!

Thanks for the info Kali,
We went there by car this morning, arrived around 11h30. At this time it was quiet, I took the shuttle bus, got the visa, stamps and came back without trouble.
Apart from the fact that I believed the stamp was valid for 3 months, and it is for 90 days. I will be 3 days overstay for my trip back to Europe and pay a small fine... (stupid me, I should have checked...)
Will I be in trouble when coming back to Thailand two weeks later if I had a 3 days overstay before? (I have a non-immigrant multiple visa O, valid until June next year)

Great, thanks for the quick answer!

Hello,
Is it possible to do a Visa run at Suwannakhet border with Laos, or not? I browsed the forum but couldn't find the answer.
I would like to show up at border without Lao visa beforehand.
I am based in Roi-Et area, Suwannakhet would be a good alternative from going to Vientianne cross the bridge and back with the stamp.
Thanks,
Stef

Update, I went today to Osmach and all went very smoothly.
1,500 baths for the Cambodian visa and 300 baths more for the same day return...
Thanks all for your feedback ????
