Any idea how the selection for enlistment in a particular area is decided?

If he is headed for college, then then that opens up the possibility of defering the lottery till he graduates. If he is lucky, the college might have a cadets/ROTC set up. Participation there, offsets either partially or totally, the need to go for conscription.

Once he graduates from college, as long as he ends up with a Bachelors Degree, then he has the choice of volunteering for 6 months in the armed services, which will take care of his military obligations.

However, if he doesn't volunteer, and is chosen via lottery, then he will serve the full two years despite being a college graduate.

My son at 17 is nearing the possibility of being enlisted in the Army.

He dropped out of school after M3 but at last is getting his act together and will possibly qualify for college.

My experience of 4 years spent in the Royal Air Force being beneficial I wondered if the Thai air force was an alternative to the army .

A very simple way of solving the on line purchases problem is the Kasikorn bank SHOPPING CARD. This card is only a VISA transaction number and is valid for any balance you want to set that does not exceed the balance in your savings account..

It is not a credit card but when activated the security is good.An E-Mail checks if all purchased items are correct before payment is made,

I have used this "CARD"for many years without any problems and no longer use my Visa Gold card as no charges are made.The purchases debited in Thai baht with the exchange rate as posted on the day of payment.

I have read that the bank balance combined with an income does not need to soak but have been unable to find confirmation.

With far from perfect eye sight I was unable to see a great difference in the display.So price and reliability are important.

Trying to improve the quality of vcd image.My notebook SVdisplay 15" --1024-768-32 bit---image is very poor when full screen selected. Have tried change from digital with a little improvement.Checked vcd on TV picture good.

Is there anything else that would solve my problem??

My computer does not have a dvd regional code--is there any advantage in selecting an area.

Last for the moment--we are experiencing problems in installing down loaded games--they will not run.

Hi all, wanted to share this info with everybody, some quick background info, I'm a UK national married to a Thai lady and we live in the Uk and we have a small boy who was born in the UK and who has both Thai and UK passports. My wife arrived in BKK on the 24th July for a 4 week holiday with our son and I told my wife to use his UK passport to leave the UK and his Thai passport to enter Thailand. She's due back this Tuesday (21st July) and has only just told me about what happened on her arrival at BKK.

It seems that after trying to use our son's Thai passport to enter Thailand, my wife was asked why our son's Thai passport didn't have an entry and exit stamp to the UK like her passport has and my wife explained that he was born in the UK and has a UK passport also and she was told that our son had to enter Thailand on his UK passport and not his Thai passport.

A worrying change or just an over enthusiastic immigration officer?

14 years ago I wanted to go to Singapore.Divorced with my Thai born six months old son included on my UK passport.I was unable to leave Thailand without him.-On returning with him I was refused re entry until I had a Visa for him---to keep his UK passport active he has a yearly non immigrant visa-with 90 days reporting.--just one more expense

Absent a separate lease agreement, the land and everything permanently fixed to the land (the house) is owned by your company. As such, the company name can be on the first page of the Tabien Bahn. Everyone named in the Tabien Bahn is a legal resident of that address. If you don't want your ex-wife living there, have her name removed from the house book by the Amphur (or get another house book). Not so clear is how your ex-wife's name got added to the Tabien Bahn against your wishes in the first place, especially if you (acting as MD) or the company didn't acknowledge approval.

Having" lost" the book I applied for a new one with photo copies of my childrens pages.I was told that it was not possible

to have a book with only children,This was at the same place that had previously issued one.

Trying again--finding the lost book--- a search discovered my ex-wife had two registered addresses.after taking the children for inspection--they decided that mummy did not live with us and deleted her from the book.Wow now I have a book with only the children.Thanks all

Hi Thanks--- quick reply- When I received the book from the local ampher I asked for the house to be in my name-the old book had but the new one on the first page does not have any name only address.My ex wife name is on a page after my three children.

I had a tambian ban with only the my three childrens names.Divorced 6 years I found my ex wife has added her name to this document---She was included in her family tambian ban Could anyone advise me ---How can I get her name removed. and what are the problems until this is achieved
