  1. Agreed with teacup.

My family does not use 'mun' and all in-laws must be respected, they should not be called 'mun' which is derogatory term. This will be different if they are in the family that uses crude, rude words in their every day life.

  2. Well-considered post. The redshirts are in fact anti-democratic, the equivalent of Nawaphon/Red Gaur/Village Scouts movement against students and workers of the 1970s, and Thaksin is the new Thanom.

Thanom lost power and fled the country, he was a monk when he came back Thailand. After leaving monkhood he stopped political activities completely, his family and himself spent their lives in low profile.

  3. Why don't the government just go for a fresh election and let the thai people choose the leader to lead the country. Start from zero, That 's it. If the government keeps on wasting time as a result will not doing any good to the country. Am i correct ? :o

Because Democrat Party will never win an election. They won in the past with very few votes more than competitor. They have the supports from Army, media, ruling class and invisible hands. They won't care for the people much because they must please those who support them.

I saw many posts explain to you how Parliament system in Thailand works, but you are still at 0. :D

  4. Former confidant of Thaksin told the press '"When we think differently from Thaksin, we are hunted. We are destroyed,".

Is 'revenge' is one trait of Thaksin?

  5. We discuss about those in the dark everyday here in Thailand. Everybody knows. Why do you ask? People around the world all know. We are now in the @ century. Email, phone, fax, message, chat, face to face. Everybody knows. No one can block us from knowing the truth.

There are truths and lies but some people have closed their minds and chosen to know only what they want to hear, propaganda and for serving their intentions :o .

  6. Koo82

When Thaksin became PM 'he himself did not win election' same as Abhisit, they gained the majority of MPs to become PM. Get over it.

How about other questions????? You haven't answered 'who' is someone in the dark that the whole world know who they are.

The last day of ASEAN Summit, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi told the press that he praised Thai PM Abhisit for the success of this ASEAN Summit and as the role of ASEAN Chairman in conducting the summit very well even though he's become PM less than 3 months, he personally admired PM Abhisit.

Is it a good news for Thailand? no? :D

In case you do not know, Abdullah Badawi is the most unpopular Prime Minister in Malaysian history.

What is the logic of your statement? everything he says is unbelievable? :o

  8. they VOTED FOR Abhisit and a new coalition.

That is why I said Abhisit is so proud to get the PM chair, not by election but by votes from people changing their mind with the help from someone in the dark that the whole world know who they are.

We voted for PPP/PTP. We didn't vote for Democrat Party.

Democrat'd become the government as they gained the support from the majority of the Parliament (I think this is called Democracy, isn't it?), those members of Parliament have their rights to vote to anyone, same as the time they voted for Thaksin. What went wrong when they voted for Abhisit this time? :o .

When people voted for PPP, did they know they would have Samak or Somchai or Abhisit as their PM?

Please enlighten me 'who' is someone in the dark that the whole world know who they are.

You haven't answered my questions, please do.

You declared yourself as a red-shirt, Thaksin supporter, and condemn your current PM 'He himself did not win an election', how did Thaksin become PM? didn't he gain the majority of members of Parliament? any difference when Abhisit'd become PM?

Hope you will learn some from several posts that try to explain to you how Parliament system works.

  10. I am a ศรัทธา of this temple. - ศรัทธา = layperson

คณะศรัทธา of this temple. - คณะศรัทธา = group of laypersons

I ศรัทธาเลื่อมใส in his theory. = I am confident and fully believe in his theory.

I love the wonderfully melodious and poetic term for Buddhist follower, "พุทธศาสนิกชน" (phúttháʔ sàatsà níkkà chon) or "พุทธมามกะ" (phút thá maam má kà)

and a temple lay official, "มรรคนายก" (mák ká naa yók)

Many terms used for Buddhist follower, it might be different from temple to temple and occasions. พุทธศาสนิกชน and พุทธมามกะ are formal words, normally used in writing or formal speech.

อุบาสก (male), อุบาสิกา (female), ญาติธรรม (male and female), ศรัทธา (male and female) - they are all the same meaning. I have been called ศรัทธา (layperson) whenever joining religious ceremonies in temple.

  12. 'Ong' refers to the Buddha Image of this village

'Bak' (verb) or 'Roi Bak' (noun) means scar or mark from being cut by sharp weapons: knife or sword.

The person with clear mark from this kind of weapon on the face could be called 'Khon Nhar Bak', this case the Buddha Image is called 'Ong Bak'.

There is a big scar or Roi Bak on the face of Buddha Image http://www.winonlyriders.net/thelostforum/cinema/OngBak.jpg

From the legend of this village, this Buddha Image was plundered from the village by Burmese soldiers during the ancient war between Thailand and Burma. Kru Dum (Teacher Dum), the brave Thai man, master of martial art, a great teacher of Muay Thai in this village, risked his life into Burmese troop to bring back the Buddha Image to the village.

'Roi Bak' on the face of Buddha Image was believed to be the miracle of his power to protect Kru Dum, it's the wound from the fight when Burmese soldiers tried to kill Kru Dum with sword but this mark was shown on the face of Buddha Image instead and Kru Dum was safe.

  16. Some women will accept the invitation right away no matter where she comes from, it depends on type and character of each woman. I agree with eek's advice to use indirect approach if this woman concerns about her family's reputation. Your approach should be like a friend but gives her some clues of your feeling until she trusts and feels comfortable to go out with you.

Once well-behaved woman or a daughter of well-known family go out with any guy (Thai or Non-Thai), it will be in public eyes and gossip. Whether you have any connection in the city or not, your behavior will be checked if you ever associated with bar girls, etc.

It's not appropriate to invite her to your room until her family and public realize that both of you are dating seriously, not for fun.
