  1. Help help

Today I have received around 60 txt messages from something called "INN-DARA". I have a AIS 12-call sim, have had it for almost 7 yrs. This has never happend before

How can I turn this off??

Or, where do I find the guy sending me all this? :)

    Cheers, and Heeeelp

    C.

  2. Hey there

Just a few suggestions. Try Big Fish Resort or Taa Too Lagoon Resort for nice and quiet. If you want something a bit more lively, chek out Wind Resort (formerly known as Simple Life Resort). These places do not require people to dive with them, to stay there. But loads of other places to stay - google is your friend.

Not sure you're gonna be too impressed with the weather though :)

  3. Champix rules

Greatest respect to the guys who did a cold turkey. But the sucess rate is not even 5 %. How can anyone recommend that? Let the tough guys be tough (and silent), and let us "weak" guys have a chance to quit smoking.

Champix gives "funny" dreams, nausea, etc.. Can be googled

Got it from the Bangkok Phuket Hospital. Send the gf in with a plausible story, and she walked out with it........

    One month already :)

    Yeehaw

  4. Hi everybody

I live out in the boonies, but coming to the big city. I will be looking for a place to buy the 'stop smoking' drug called Champix.

Anybody know a good place. I will be staying around Sukhumwit Rd.

    Thanx

  5. Happy New year out there

I was told today, that there is a direct bus going from Phuket (town) to Samui. If so, does it go all the way to Samui or does it stop in Surat or Don Sak? How long is the journey? Etc.?

Have searched the net for this info, but found nothing. :o

Anybody have any info or can point me in the right direction to find it, Thanx :D

  6. Hi there

A border run in Ranong involves boats to Burma and some waiting time. And Ranong is not so easy to navigate.

A border run from Had Yai to Sadao is done in a taxi or minibus and can be arranged easily.

Distance from Ranong to NsT is 344 km., on winding mountain roads. Almost got carsick from doing it on Google Earth.

Distance from Had Yai to NsT is 223 km., on a nice, straight highway.

I would definately choose the Had Yai option, having done a variety of visa-runs in the south in the last 9 years.

Try to run the different options on Google Earth

Gotta love the visa runs :o

    Good luck

  7. Hey

Been using the Andaman Club for years. True that around 2003-2004 you needed 4 days left of your visa. Went 3 weeks ago on my last day, so definately no problems now.

There are 2 organized 'runs' going out of Chumpon - morning and afternoon. Morning trip goes to the Ranong Pier and Victoria point. Afternoon goes to A.C.

Tickets can be bought in Farang Bar and Fame GH. (and probably in travel agencies) and are 1200 thb, incl. the 10 $ to enter Burma.

Trip leaves around 13.00 and back 19.00. You will have around 45 mins in the AC (nice dutyfree).

Last time there was an 'overstayer' on the bus. He got taken down to the regular immigration office and back to the AC pier. Then he caught a later boat and made back with the rest of us.

    Have a nice trip

  8. Hi there

Most 5-star IDC centres, that I know of will assist your son in getting a long education visa for the zero to hero programs etc. I think they issue those visas in Laos at the moment. Contact the dive centre for details. Standard procedure in Koh Tao and I think in Pattaya as well.

For work after the courses your son will of course need a work permit.

Good luck and happy diving :o

  9. Hey

Have done the 'run' to Ranong for several years. Can highly recommend the Andaman Club. They have their own immigration office (nothing like the nasty one at the pier), duty free (cheap). restaurant, casino etc. You get there on a small aircond. boat and stay there for about 50 mins.

    They cannot handle overstay.

Good to book in advance, but if you come from Samui, KPN or Tao on the (morning) Katamaran to Chumporn, you can usually book it at the Lomprayah pier.

    I think it's Kiat Travel (077 502 127, 08 1893 4152) in Chumporn that does Andaman club.

    Good luck :o
