  1. :) it is really funny to read this forum to be honest.Cant stop laughing. I am

Thai and it is quite good to hear some opinions from farang who got thai wife. Hope you dont mind if there is a new face to join the forum.unfortunatly she is Thai. :D

Everyone is welcome here, we love to hear opinions from Thai,

That is the purpose of this forurm.

    Thanks for joining.

  2. Is amazing how now in some places they just don't allow some Indian people.

Where in Thailand do they not allow Indians?

When I was last in Thailand, at least in BKK, I met many girls on the BTS, mostly university students.

I would be sure to ride them when the University was getting out, also at MBK and Central World Plaza.

I think if you just act normal, and engage in converstation, even a simple, "Hello, how was your day, can I ask

you what you are studying for?"

Just be friendly, but not too assertive, act like you are really interested in them, not just getting them in bed,

    sometimes you will be surprised.

Mostly I just wanted to take someone out to dinner or a movie, I didn't look for anything else, but often

I didn't have to, they would take the initiative, and believe me it is much more fun when they do.

  3. Why don't you drink?

Where I come from we don't trust tea-totalers.

    I quit drinking when I turned 37, I am 66 now.

I was one of those that would stop in after work for 1 drink and end up closing the place up.

Woke up the next morning, knowing I was in a fight with someone, but had no idea who.

After being arrested for Assualt and Battery for the 3rd time, and not remembering it, I decided it was

time to quit for me, I would either kill someone or get killed.

Now, I don't have any problem with my friends drinking, in fact I am always available to be the

    designated driver.

My only problem is getting stuck with someone that is so drunk, (like I used to be), that it drives me

crazy, nothing worse than being sober and having to listen to a drunk tell stories that you know are really

"stories" and they usually repeat themselves over and over and still don't get it right.

Sorry to ramble on, drink all you want guys, just don't corner me when you want to tell me how great you are.

  4. Drunken violence can rear it's ugly head anywhere across the world at 2am on a Sunday morning.

It's not just the areas in Sukhumvit that suffer from violence.

In Bangkok, I've seen a couple of big battles involving Thais in the entertainment areas of Ratchada soi 4 and Khampeng Phet as well.

You are so right about that, there are many cities here in USA I would never be caught dead at 2am here. And if I were there at 2am in the morning I would probably be FOUND dead.

  5. This sounds like a very dangerous place. I hope that my friend Griffer is ok.

If your friend uses common sense he should be fine, I walked the streets of Sukhumvit 3 hours a day for the 2 weeks I was in bkk, never had a problem. But if you are out walking alone at 2am in the morning, that is not using common sense.

I walked alone up until 9pm and was fine, anytime I was out after that I was with friends.

Of course it helps that I don't drink, and never carried a wallet I always carried small amount of baht in front pockets nothing in back pockets.

  6. I last flew to Thailand in January 2004, I know it has been a while.

I flew EVA airlines using the Evergreen class which is free to those who join the Evergreen club, no charge.

To me the service and seating is as good as business class on most airlines.

The price was excellant and the service was as good as I have ever had.

I had 3 hot meals between Seattle and Taiwan, very comfortable seats.

In my opinion this is the best deal available to Thailand I Eva from Newark New, Jersey, stopover in Seattle, then another stopover in Taipei, then to bkk.

approximately 5 1/2 hours from Newark to Seattle (short layover). approximately 13 hours from Seattle to Taipei (very short layover) and then 3 1/2 hours from Taipei to Bkk.

The only thing I do not enjoy about flying to Thailand is the fact it takes so long and depending on layovers can be up to 30 hours.

But lets face it just being in Thailand makes the trip well worth the long flights.

    Good luck

  7. Strikingly similar to the Natalie Halloway / Aruba story

With the exception that in the body was found and the family will at least not have to suffer the difficulties of not knowing for sure whether their daughter is alive or missing.

Very little consolation at this time for the family. But just imagine what the Halloway's are going through even to this day.

My condolences also to the families.

  8. Let's all keep our eyes open for this creep. The sooner he is caught the safer everyone is. I don't care what the girl's 'profession' was, she does not deserve this fate.

I am one farang who would love to see this guy behind bars a soon as possible.

My condolances to the family of this woman.

  9. I am sure this subject is already past date for the original poster.

But had to add my 2 cents for President Solitaire. I stayed there for 2 weeks in February 2004. It is a little walk to the BTS I agree, but I am 60 years old and walked everyday to BTS, and much further on some days. Also, the hotel has a tuk tuk at the door, and is usually there to give you a lift to Sukhumvit road.

As for the food, I thought it was excellant and since my favorite meal is breakfast, I was very happy with it. Also, the service could not have been better.

The suite I had was on the 1st level of rooms and was outstanding in every way.

The 42" digital tv is also a plus.

    Just my opinion.

  10. I say go face him, you may find that he either doesn't have the courage or even the intention of doing any harm, but for your own sanity, stop crapping in your pant's and face him.

You are wasting time worrying over something that may be all in your mind.

Time to take the skirt off and put the pants on.

  11. I admit I only stayed in Bangkok for 4 weeks in Jan and Feb this year.

But I really couldn't find anything worth complaining about.

For a foriegner who did not speak a work of Thai and had never left US before. I found it very easy to go anywhere safely and without much trouble.

Thanks BTS. I went anywhere I wanted alone safely, could never do this in my own city Philadelphia, there are places I wouldn't last 5 minjutes there.

For me, I love Bangkok and will return this April.
